FREE GILLETTE FUSION SHAVE GEL AT CVS - YMMV
DH had to go to the dentist today in the next town over, so I decided to tag along and go to their CVS while he was in the chair, specifically looking for shaving clearance. They had exactly (2) Gillette Fusion Proglide Shave Gels on the shelf @ 50% off for $2.49 ea. $4.98 (2) GFP Shave Gel -3.99 (1) GFP Shave Product BOGO (1/27 RP) Auto-deducted (wasn't expecing it at all!! -1.00 (1) $1/1 Fusion Shave Product (Jan P&G) $-.01 + tax OOP $.22/ea. What floors me is the regular price of this stuff. $4.99 for a can of shave gel? Really? I also ran across the street to WAGs and picked up a couple of Old Spice body sprays on clearance for $2.49 - still waaaay too expensive as far as I'm concerned. I was hoping they'd ring up at BOGO 50% like the regularly priced ones, but no such luck. I got two and used a $1/2 Old to get both for $3.98 plus tax. DH had been bugging me to get him some and that was the cheapest I could find. Luckily I still have ONE WAGs GC left from way back when and used that for the OOP. Still, I just about cringed at the price. Boy am I out of touch.

I'm hoping that WalMart will get more in before the Qs expire on 2/13, so I have a little time. I also got all (10) of the kitty treats today, so thank you so much again!!

Grocery OutletAnd speaking of the Grocery Outlet. It's on the way to WalMart so I decided to pop in and see if I could find any treasures. I saw that they had 17.5 oz. packages of precooked/sauced baby back ribs for $3.99 in a vacuum sealed package. They were an off brand, but $1 cheaper than the grocery store Super Bowl promos for a similar product. I looked at the package and what do you know? It had expired on 1/28. I showed the young man stocking the deli items and he said he would reduce them by 50%, so they were $1.99/pkg. There were (16) packages. Guess how many I bought? Luckily I put a cooler in the car (just in case). I put them in the freezer as soon as I got home. I also found Best Foods Mayo (7 oz. sqeeze bottle) on clearance for $.25/ea. And I don't know whether to be or cuz I got my first senior citizen discount today. If you're over 55 and shop at the Grocery Outlet on Wednesday, you get an additional 5% off!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WalMartPicked up my free cat food and free cat treats with the coupons that weselfer sent to me. I also noticed that Safeway had Heinz 57 sauce BOGO, but the price at Safeway is $6.49/10 oz. bottle - RIDICULOUS. I checked the price at WalMart and it was $3.92/10 oz. bottle. I knew that they price matched, but didn't know if they'd price match on a BOGO sale from another store. I remembered our old motto, "If you don't ask....", so I did AND I'll be darned, they priced matched it. They rang each up at 1/2 price or $1.96 and I used (2) $1/1 coupons so they were $.96/bottle after price match and coupon. We use it with beer to make a homemade marinade for steaks, so I've always gotta have some in the pantry. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SafewayCapri Sun is a great deal this week if you got the B3G1 in the 1/6 SS. They are on sale for $1.99, so I bought (3) for $5.97, got one free, and got a $3CAT for purchasing (4)!! So $.74/box after coupon and CAT. We like to keep a box in the car at all times just in case we get thirsty on the road. Open Nature bread is on sale for $2.79. I had a J4U for 30% off any bread or buns and I had a $1/1 ANY Open Nature so $.95/ea. The setback is that you can only use (1) Open Nature coupon per transaction.

Milo the Lizard Slayer is a pretty happy kitty with all his free food and treats, although he's pretty good at taking care of himself. Yesterday he got a bird and today he got a big, fat mouse!! There's blood on the patio. EWWW He is a pretty good hunter!!

Safeway DIDN'T do it AGAIN. I have only 2 items on my list for Jewel this week and they did NOT price match either one, AGAIN.
As a single person household I am so ........ticked off at the way 'deals' and coupons are running lately. There are these buy 10 items and get $5 off but such a purchase would eat up my entire grocery budget for >a week. And coupoons are beginning to REQUIRE waaaaay high number of units to be bought in a single purchase. I do NOT need 4 cans of pringles or 5 frozen pizza to get a measly $1 off.
I am VERY tempted to start filing email complaints about being discriminated against because I am a widow w/grown & gone (adult) children. Bet I do not get any REAL answers if I bother.

I agree and we do have two kids with one a teenager. I guess I could buy 4 cans of pringles but we seriously don't need it and if I did they would be eaten in one sitting. I have actually done a lot of shopping lately at Acme. they have had the best sales lately though. then last night I was almost out of oil and I have to make brownies for my son's school. I had to pay $5.19 for a 48 oz bottle of plain old vegatable oil.

I substitute bacon grease for oil when I make pancakes, waffles, etc. It drives me just batty when I don't realize that we're running low on something and have to scramble to find a deal. Usually I go to one of the dollar stores and pray that they have something to tide me over.

No problem. Checked my one Chronicle 1/20/SS: no go. Funny thing is, I know I saw that q when I was browsing through the inserts. But I double, double checked and it's not in my 1/20 nor my 1/27. Oh well.... I went to CVS yesterday and saw three cans at 75% off: $1.32. I'll go back with my $1 q's today. Still a good deal at .32 each. marvholly wrote:

I don't understand. Is it Jewel's policy to price match? Would bringing the written policy to the store manager's attention help? As for coupons and deal pricing, they really are no under no obligation to offer anything, and, of course, they want to sell as much as possible. Thus, the 10 for .... deals. I agree the coupon amounts have gone down: what used to be $1.00/1 or .50/1 are now $1.00/2 or .50/2. Makes putting together deals much more challenging. I tend to look on the positive: makes my brain work harder and maybe that will keep senility at bay!

HOUND ALERT:
If any of you have the $1.00 of two Chex cereal q's from last Sunday's SS insert, I would love to have them. Provided you aren't using them yourselves.
Raley's/Nob Hill has them for $1.49 each wyb4. My SS didn't have the q's. If I get at least 2 of those q's, I can get 4 boxes for .99 each. That's a stock up price for cereal these days.
PM me if you need my addy and let me know if you're looking for any q's.
Thanks.

I ran to Safeway and finished using my coupons for the Capri Sun. I had to buy them in groups of (4). Today I did (2) back to back transactions to get it done. I decided to hop into CVS which is right next door to see if I might get lucky finding some shaving clearance there (like I did Tuesday in the next town over). I found (3) cans of the Gillette Fusion Proglide shave gel, but there were no clearance tags. I took a can to the handy, dandy red scanner machine, and sure enough, they were $2.49 ea. and I got REALLY LUCKY and got the auto-deduct AGAIN based on who was cashiering!! So I got $19.96 worth of product (even though I would NEVER pay that) for $.84. Even on clearance, using NO coupons, the (4) cans would have cost $10.82 (including tax). The auto-deduct for the BOGO is what made them so cheap along with the fact that the BOGO did not attach to both products. These are coupon redemption "glitches" that could disappear at any time and which saved me an additional $5.02. I imagine that eventually P&G will re-code the BOGOs so that they don't auto-deduct (getting it for me relies on knowing which cashiers will/will not give it) and so that the BOGOs attach to both products negating the use of (2) additional $X/1 coupons for extra savings. I figured I'd better get while the gettin' was good.

I looked it up in the database really quickly to post and saw the B1G1 and posted it. There are two different BOGOs - one for free shave gel WYB a Gillette refill or cartridge (1/20 SS) and there is a BOGO Fusion Progide shave product (1/6 RP), so it's the 1/6 that you need. Geez, I guess I need some more of those tough scenarios to calculate because my brain is going to mush. With your price the BOGO will save you an additional $.32. It may come in handy for a later sale, but you may not care.

murpath It is Dominicks (Safeway) policy to match the *best* deals Jewel and Target have for the ad period as part of their Just4You program. However, some idiot at corp decides what the *best* deals are. Frequently they are NOT the front page items or the best meat & produce sales. Three out of 4 weeks I end up having to hit both stores. That is ok since Jewel is across the street from my fav fruit mkt and Dominicks is on my routine travel route but it should NOT be like that as they promoted the program.

^You're welcome, beach.
Random CVS deal involving the "magic" autodeduct and CRTs. I noticed I was getting more $2/2 CRTs for Tresemme this week, which are on sale 2/$7. I bought 4 bottles, used 2 BOGO coupons that auto-deducted $6 each for some reason, with 2 CRTs for a $2 MM. I also had $1.75/1 peelies, but they beeped and the cashier wouldn't take them. Since she was being so nice about the autodeduct I didn't push it, but YMMV for an even better deal.

I did not notice the gillette clerance but the other HIP2Save posted a bunch of cleranced stuff at CVS so off I went and they had all the stuff cleranced but no tags. Yesterday I stopped by another CVS and found the Colgate battery operated toothbruhes for 2.00 plus I found the CVS Brand shaving gel for $1.00 I needed some. So make sure to pay attention and scan items even if there are no tags. I found the Softsoap purple bottles on cleranced for 1.24 running low so I purchased it. Nivea Bodywash for men 1.49 they also had Gillette bodywash and fresh scent and Old Spice on clerance. Dial aerosal cans of bodywash were 1.24 speedstick for men .87 with coupon free. Take a look at HIP2Save she has wonderfull pictures and the cleranced prices are wonderful.

It may or may not be replaced with something similar...nothing decided yet.

When I entered "Gillette shave cream" in the database, it just came up with the P&G $1 q; not the BOGOF. And I knew I'd seen them somewhere. This is what I did: 3 Gillette shave cream: $1.37 each 1 Gilette shave prep gel $1.32 1 Gevalia coffee $5.99 Minus: $1.50 Gevalia q 1 Gilette BOGOF q (auto deducted $3.99) 2/$1 Gilette shave cream q's $1 EB Total OOP of $3.31; used CVS cash card I tried to use 2 of the BOGOF but it beeped. Probably because of the shave prep gel, which is the same but in a tube. That's okay since $3.31 for just the coffee would have been an okay deal. I may go to another CVS to try with the remaining q's. marvholly wrote: It is Dominicks (Safeway) policy to match the *best* deals Jewel and Target have for the ad period as part of their Just4You program. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to everyone who helped me stockpile FREE PURINA ONE BEYOND!! I REALLY appreciate it. [img src="http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/smileys/hug.gif" alt=" " src="http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/smileys/hug.gif"] I am a happy camper. DH needed to go to Costco for wiper blades and WalMart is across the street so I tagged along to see if they got any more of the FREE Purina One Beyond in. Sure enough, there were several more boxes on the shelf, so I was able to use the rest of the coupons that Weselfer sent. While I was there, I also picked up (4) more of the Heinz 57 sauce, price matched with Safeway's BOGO sale. From what I was told on WUC, some WalMarts ask you the price of the product from the store that has it BOGO and some just give it to you BOGO at the WalMart price. Well, mine is one that gives it to you BOGO at the WalMart price!! I didn't want to be a piggy about getting them, so I have only gotten (6); but they don't expire until 2015, so there is room to possibly pick up a couple more. If not, I am VERY pleased with having gotten this deal. It is a pantry staple in our household. So today I paid $2.22 + tax for (6) Purina One Beyond and (4) Heinz 57 Sauce!! Overage from the cat food reduced the price of the steak sauce.
