BSB- would it help motivate you if i TRIED the same thing? though not at 4:45am. it would be 6am and I'd hop on my eliptical that is approximately 4 ft from my side of the bed. I'd be willing to try if it would help you (and me!)

Oooh - fitness challenge! That would be awesome - I will be starting Thursday and my plan was to try to do every weekday for two weeks. What do you think?

Minnesotagirl7: 44.2 lbs 10/29/13 (45 lbs 10/23/13)
So-so for my first week. Friday was our wedding anniversary, and I thoroughly enjoyed dessert at the restaurant. Still managing to lose almost a pound feels good. This week I'll be kicking my activity into high gear. I want to make it to the gym or workout at home five days. Wish me luck!
bsbound and sarcastic, you guys are inspiring!
kilroy great job on the 60 minute workout!

And I will try to only complain a little bit This back thing is a bit harder than previous ones - I totally agree with Monday as an amended start date. My mobility today says tomorrow will not be a great time to start exercising. Also, based on a convo with my doctor I am amending my plan to 3 days swimming, 2 days weights. All with the early wakeup time though! You're planning to elliptical for 2 weeks? We are awesome! Minnesota - way to go on the almost pound lost! According to my scale I'm finally losing some weight (2 pounds!) but I think that may be more because I haven't done any strength training in 2 weeks. Back on in next week once I've healed!

I am going to start with the elliptical because it is mindless. If I am having a rough time with the early hour I'll stick with it for a few days.
I plan to add 2 combat workouts or kettlebell workouts a week (for ST), and then maybe Friday will be yoga day. I have a yoga/pilates video that I really like.

I was going in six different directions this morning trying to take care of DH who had hernia surgery on Monday (and it kicked his butt way more than he expected), and I still managed to make one of those directions the gym, where I got in 30 minutes on the elliptical. I also planned out a strength workout while I was waiting for him to get out of surgery. Next step, put that plan to work! Darn I'm tired

Alright, guys. Time to step it up. Chiver's on vacation, but I know everyone else is around. How are we doing? Updates from Sarcastic, Beth or Minnesota? MissBear, how are you surviving Mamabear's sabotage? I'm down like another half pound - I think it's from not working out very much, honestly. Which I will remedy starting this weekend!

I have no update... things have been so crazy and disorganized lately. I haven't been doing great, but haven't been doing horribly. And I'm stepping on the scale until next week since i currently have monster cramps and am bloated like crazy. I'm trying to mentally prepare for monday morning at 6am

I was a soldier before. someone must have bitten me and turned me into a zombie so when you cured me i turned back into a soldier. I promise not to shoot you. I think it resets every hour... so when 1pm hits we can go again.

I should have gone to the gym today, but had a killer headache this morning & then when I took something for it I got so loopy I was kind of afraid to do anything requiring coordination. Stupid head My goal for Sat/Sun is to start a weights workout Saturday & go swimming Sunday.

I have really crappy stamina in the pool for some reason, so I don't really set goals, just swim until I can't do another length of the pool. I do keep track, so how about a goal of 4 more lengths than last time?

I do keep track, so how about a goal of 4 more lengths than last time? I like it! In terms of stamina, there are a few things that could be going on. If you want my unofficial internet coaching I'm happy to chat! Regardless, weights should help with stamina in the water too!

Also, I just updated my fitness app. Since I started this journey back in February I've lost 20 lbs. It took a long time, but it's nothing to shake a stick at! Even with my recent plateau, I'm finally going down again.
20 down, 50 to go...

Go bsb! I'm down 4 (I think) since Sept. 3, which means I have 14 more to go. Doesn't seem like a lot, but it's going awfully slow. I need to ramp it up & get my butt to actual spinning classes (I've been spinning on my own).
As far as the pool goes, I thought I might be breathing wrong & that's why I got tired so fast, but I actually took swimming lessons a couple of years ago and relearned how to do it right, and I still get exhausted after a couple of lengths and have to take a break.

What's your lap time? Are you swimming too fast? (i.e., if you're sprinting, you can expect to only go a couple lengths.) Also, regardless, weight training should help with your stamina for swimming.

Apparently I am surviving. I am down to 180. The highest I have been since I put this weight on was around 220- so I am down 40 pounds from my highest lifetime weight. ANd still about 60-70 pounds overweight.
I am losing! I am losing!
