❤ mollymouser ❤ do you have a medical supply place in your area. My Mom used to take my Grandpa there and they would fit him for compression socks to make sure he got the right size etc. I am sure we do. If the ones from Amazon don't work, I will try there.

LUNCH VEGGIES: carrots, onions, golden beets, radishes, hearts of palm, tomatoes and pea pods. (I am having leftover roast with a salad)
I think tonight will be grilled fish (in the air fryer), roasted delicata squash (air fryer), roasted carrots (air fryer), and probably some cooked spinach/chard/kale. I will make the squash and the carrots this afternoon ~ and the fish right before eating.
I spent some time cleaning up the small Catio ... it's amazing the dust and stuff that's out there. I started with the vacuum but switch to the broom since I can't figure out how to empty the new vacuum, lol. Thank goodness my wonderful DH will be home tonight.
My wonderful DH will be flying the California wild fires later this week and over the weekend.
We're selling fundraiser cat calendars for the rescue, if anyone is interested ... let me know and I will post the link so as to not seem spammy.

LUNCH VEGGIES: carrots, golden beets, radishes, pea pods. (Had it with Fiber One cereal and the last of the leftover roast) Dinner tonight: Chicken curry over riced cauliflower Roasted Delicata squash Roasted Carrots Salad: Romaine, tomatoes, hearts of palm, pea pods, radishes and red peppers. Day 3 of healthy eating underway ... Brienne and Bear (kittens) were fixed today. Bear is now officially ours.
I did some bush trimming out front today.
Looks like my wonderful DH will be flying daily starting on Saturday ... including Thanksgiving ... unless the schedule changes. I'm not complaining ... so many lives have been lost and homes/animals are gone.

Tonight for dinner I had half a chicken breast, cauliflower and a little bit of homemade mac and cheese. DSIL has been providing me with fresh picked cauliflower this fall. Truth be told I am a little tired of cauliflower but since it is such a short window to get the fresh local cauli I keep eating it. I paid the deposit and got on the schedule to get new living/hall way carpet and new vinyl in both bathrooms. That will happen the first week of December.

LUNCH VEGGIES: spinach, pea pods, carrots, tomatoes, golden beets. (also had a turkey and hummus on wheat sammy) DINNER VEGGIES: kidney beans, pinto beans, black beans, garlic, onion, tomatoes, chiles, corn. I am making "7-can soup" in the crockpot, with some additions: chopped red onion, a ton of garlic, and some ground beef. Otherwise, it's a can each of the beans, diced tomatoes, then a can of Rotel tomatoes+chili and fiesta corn. And some cheese for creaminess (I went with Velveeta since it melts so nicely). I had a cup to taste ... yum! We should get about 8 servings out of it.
This is the first time we've had this soup and it's great (my wonderful DH had some at lunch, already ... then left for work! He noted that the onions were still crunchy and I noted that the soup wasn't DONE yet, lol!)

LUNCH VEGGIES: Soup: tomatoes, onions, garlic, corn, black beans, pinto beans, kidney beans. Salad: pea pods, tomatoes, carrots, orange pepper, broccoli DINNER VEGGIES: Soup: tomatoes, onions, garlic, corn, black beans, pinto beans, kidney beans. Zucchini and tater tots (potatoes) I am officially tired of this soup ... thank goodness there is just one serving left! (8 servings total)
We had three kitten adoptions today at Petco. I don't know if we have any scheduled for tomorrow. My wonderful DH is flying in support of the Butte County #CampFire tomorrow afternoon and evening.... so I will be on my own for dinner.

This is the first time I have been home during the daylight hours since last weekend. It was a very busy week. I need to go see how many leaves have fallen this past week.

Our leaves are starting to fall ... but they have a ways to go. By Monday, we'll finally get out of the 70s. Three kittens adopted Friday at Petco. No kitties adopted today at Petco.
We tried something new for breakfast and made "mug omelettes" in the microwave ~ they turned out great! We used Southwest-seasoned Eggbeaters, and added fresh spinach and a bit of cheese. Yum! (I just didn't want a protein shake this morning!)
LUNCH: turkey on wheat with hummus. Cucumbers and tomatoes. (Not exciting, but it worked!) DINNER: The last of the bean soup (Hallelujah!) Toast. Spinach/Chard/Kale/Broccoli.
My wonderful DH is flying for the #CampFire in Butte County today/tonight and tomorrow/tomorrow night. Then again Wednesday/Wednesday night. That's how far out their scheduling is going.

Hope your DH stays safe. The fires are frightening to watch from afar. Can't imagine being that close to them.
I don't understand buying puppies. A friend and his wife just bought a mini-dachshund puppy. Why not adopt a puppy from the shelter. I have seen dachshunds at the shelter but I'm guessing they wanted a puppy.

All of our pups have been shelter pups. Adopted for life. Their worst sin, being born to someone who didn't want them. Puppies are a lot of work. Sure they're cute, but a lot of work!
If we we are able, I would like to adopt someone older than a puppy. (Shelby was three months old, and fell in love with hubby, that's why we have her.)

TheOtherMe maybe the shelter had rules for adoption that they either didn't like or couldn't meet. The shelter in our area came under fire a few years ago because of their stringent rules. I think they have relaxed them some now because they were adopting out so few dogs. You had to have a completely fenced back yard and they wanted to know your work schedules so that the dog wasn't left home alone for more than 4 hours. I get that they were looking out for the best interests of the dogs but they also weren't adopting out very many dogs due to the rules.

I have watched this couple over the years and they always adopt a puppy from a breeder. They only have dachshunds, so I don't think a shelter would have told them no. Their puppy will grow up as spoiled as all of their dogs have been and has a brother waiting for him.
My sister's dog also came from a breeder. I didn't understand her decision either.
I'm glad I've always had cats. All except for one came from a shelter and that cat was given to me by a friend who always let their female cats have one litter before having them spayed because they deserve that. Sure they do.

This afternoon, I swept up leaves, started laundry, and roasted things in the air fryer: carrots, acorn squash and Brussels sprouts. LUNCH: stir fry with spinach, pea pods, broccoli and leftover beef sausage.
DINNER: roasted acorn squash, tri-color carrots, Brussels sprouts and lemon-pepper Mahi Mahi.
My wonderful DH got home after midnight last night. He's flying again this afternoon/night.

Hope your DH arrived home safe and sound.
Winter has arrived here. All the leaves are long gone and there are a few inches of snow on the ground.
Seeing the piles of snow from the parking lot at Dairy Queen on Saturday reminded me that the snow there won't be gone until spring.

Lunch: Brussels sprouts, carrots, acorn squash, tomatoes, a few veggie chips, and a chicken sausage. (That finishes off the cooked veggie leftovers!)
I just tossed an unopened bag of romaine per today's CDC "don't eat it or you will die" warning.
I sprained/strained/wrenched my right knee yesterday and have been hobbling around or elevating it ever since.
Dinner tonight is steaks (defrosting in fridge). And probably frozen tater tots. And a salad. And maybe some zucchini.

I am so thankful that I have 4 whole days without my commute. Tomorrow morning I plan on just relaxing and watching the parade on TV. I just need to make green bean casserole to take to Mom's. It is going to be a low key dinner with just 5 of us. It may just be Mom and me as DD told me this evening that DGD was feeling pretty warm this evening and having complete meltdowns over the slightest little thing.

We did some online shopping Wednesday night (Walmart.com started their "Black Friday deals" then) and got a new printer for $19, two Google home minis for 1/2 off, and a Shark Ion 720 robot vacuum for $100 off. None of those are gifts ~ they are all for us.
My wonderful DH actually had today (Thanksgiving) off ... but he's working the next 12 days straight (most of those out of town.)
LUNCH: mini tacos, cucumber, radishes, tomatoes, broccoli and hearts of palm.
DINNER: ham, potatoes, green beans, roasted carrots.
Friday and Saturday are Petco adoption center days for me ... then my wonderful DH leaves at 6am Sunday.

I have been in full on house renovation mode. Yesterday I painted the living room ceiling. It looks great but oh my aching legs, way too much ladder time.
