Long nap.  Then I fell going in to the garage.  Scared myself.  There is like a half step between the kitchen and garage floor and I missed it. 

Took about 30 minutes to get back to the couch.  Couldn't pull myself up to the wooden chairs in the dining room but could on the couch.  Now I am afraid to leave the couch.

No, I didn't hurt anything.  Just wished I had a way to see a doctor, but I don't.

Had niece come out after work to build my confidence on the shower.  She stayed away and I did it all myself.  Yes, it wore me out, but I didn't need any help from her. 

I needed that.  Next time, I will make sure to take the phone in to the bathroom so I can call for help if need be.

I had my fasting lab work done for my annual dr appt next week.  Dreading going because I know the lab results won't be what the Dr. wants them to be.   I have finally decided to quit stressing over it because after all she won't keep me there forever.  I can endure the 10-15 minutes the doc is in the room.

It was a cloudy but warmer day today.  The rain is supposed to be coming back in.  I am thoroughly sick and tired of rain.  We have gotten double our annual rainfall in 6 months.

I did a few errands after work today, got gas for the lawn mower and more light bulbs.  Both of those things are things I don't think to get until I am completely out and want it now, so I was pleased to actually remember that I needed both items.

Put a few things up on craigslist, hopefully I can trade items for some cash.

Wish marvholly would drop by again and fill us in on how she is doing?

I know the feeling about the sun.  Seeing sunshine for the first time in two weeks.  Makes me a much happier camper

I just got home from going to the small store in my town.  That totally wore me out.

I spent the day at The Adoption Center ~ he spent the day napping and unpacking. We went out to dinner with friends. I plan  to spend tomorrow just hanging out with him. And maybe grocery shopping.

First shower totally alone.  I must be getting stronger as I didn't just have to sit on the couch afterwards.  I did sit for the shower.  I didn't sit long after the shower and I feel so much better.

Think I will try going to the store in the town 5 miles away tomorrow and see how I do.

We are back to the rain.  I am sick and tired of rain.  My back deck is covered and I went ahead and fired up the gas grill tonight.  It is spring and I am ready to grill stuff.

I painted the door that goes into the garage today and had way too much help.  Unrestricted access to the garage meant multiple trips in and out the door by the kitties just because they could.  I wasn't worried about them getting into anything and I had the overhead door pulled down.  Finally I chased them down the hall and told them to leave me alone.  They sorta did for a while anyways.

Well, he was home for 10 days, gave me his cold, and now he's out of town this week. And they are talking about sending him out of town 10 days after that. At least it's easier to call and email him, right?

For those of you following the news, we had a mass shooting in my city today. The guy allegedly killed 3 today, and 1 last Thursday. The Thursday shooting was across the street from our cat rescue adoption center .... EEEK. He is in custody and by all reports, seems to be somewhat mentally ill. In addition to last Thursday's shooting, we had a shooting (with a death) on Friday, then one again on Saturday. Sunday it was just multiple people getting stabbed. Monday was quiet ... untll the 3 people were shot this morning (Tuesday.) Did I mention this is a bit like living in some sort of urban war zone at times?

Sunday night, I rescued a teeny tiny 5-week old puffball of a kitten (black and white) who I'm calling Moo. She is in the bathtub with a teeny litter box, plenty of food and water, towels and a super soft bed. Tomorrow morning I get to drop her at our adoption center so her official foster mom can pick her up. My cats will be glad to get the guest bathroom back ~ one of their cat condos is in there and they like to watch the bird feeders out the window. 

Last weekend, we had quite the weather-related tree crisis at the cat rescue ... some of the huge eucalyptus trees was dropping giant branches, squooshing the fence, and was in danger of toppling over. I spent a lot of time fundraising for that and the crisis part is over ... we had some emergency work done, more work planned (getting bids) and we bought a commercial-grade chainsaw so the landscaping staff can start cutting up more of the trees. What a mess ... but California has had a LOT of rain lately.

No more rain in our forecast. Mid-80s are in our forecast, but no more rain.

Today looks like it is going to be the one nice day of the week and then we are back to rain.  I am going to try and get the lawn mowed this evening after work.  It is supposed to be a rainy/showery weekend so I will hopefully get a lot of inside jobs done.

It's cooler here today but the sun is shining. 

Have had a rough week physically.  I just want to feel like a normal person.

Okay, I have a crisis on my hands.   The store will no longer be carrying my brand of kitty litter.  I use Western Family and according to the manager they will no longer be carrying Western Family products.  I don't know of any other stores in my area that carry Western Family.

This should be interesting.  I use the clay litter and twice a week.  With Blackie's issues this works well for us.  Now I will need to find a clay litter that they find acceptable and something that is unscented, that I will find acceptable.  I have a horrid sensitivity to perfumes and scented products.

I am wondering if I should hit all the stores in this area that carry this brand, stock up and then do some mixing to try and get them switched over.  I do need to do something because I will be out of town for 4 days next week and don't want to leave them with a new litter.  Hopefully this will be less of a deal then I am thinking.  Years ago I had to switch a litter on a cat and she was not happy.  It took a couple of weeks before she would accept the new brand.

This morning I hit up a couple of stores, in this small local chain, and was able to score 3 20lb bags of kitty litter.  There are two more store out closer to where I work so I will stop at those on Monday.

You can order more kitty litter online from Amazon or eBay. I had to do that after my favorite lip balm was discontinued.

I overdid things yesterday in picking up around the house.  It was a challenge tonight to get in and out of the tub, but I managed.  So I am nice and clean.

I did take dad to lunch today and he wanted to know how I was liking my new job at the church in this town.  That totally confused me.  He said he thought I got a transfer when the other church closed.  No, they are not the same denomination.  Besides, I once applied for the same job there and it paid significantly less than I made at the other church and there was more to it.  At the end of the interview, I told them to withdraw my name.

Rumor has it that Paul McCartney is coming to Des Moines this year.

Please help me to NOT buy a ticket.  I made a promise to myself that I am done with his concerts.

I was able to pick up 5 more 20lb bags of kitty litter.  By my calculations I now have enough for 6 weeks.   That should get me through my trips and then i can figure out what I am going to do.
