We had 3 kittens adopted Friday at Petco. And more today ... yay!

My big excitement for the day was grocery shopping at Trader Joes.

Just finished watching my Colorado Buffaloes women's basketball team get their first road win in over 2 years!  Led from tipoff to the final buzzer!! Fun!

💛 ❤ I got a box today from Amazon, which surprised me since I didn't order anything (that I could recall.) It was two garden flags with stands for my garden ... from my (deployed) wonderful DH. I thought that was pretty sweet, actually. He's also left cards for me in the calendar so I have one to open every few weeks. He's a keeper ... and I miss him. 💛 ❤

Went to see the surgeon today.  Was not with him more than 5 minutes total.  He looks at records and orders another test.  He leaves.  See you in 2 weeks.  So next Tuesday I get to go have the same test I had in hospital only this time with injection.  He said that simulates a fatty meal and they will see how the gall bladder reacts.

I was hoping to get this done if it has to be done.  I have one concert paid for and it's in April. 

I had decided not to see the nutritionist on Friday if we were still messing around with the gall bladder.  Came home and called to cancel.  Woman that answers says so and so is on the schedule at the time not you.  HIPPA violation    Called back this afternoon.  This woman just said that appointment was filled by somebody else.  No name.

Didn't want to get a bill for a no show so I called my Patient Navigator.  She said that is what she is there to do and she will make sure I don't get a no show bill when I have tried to cancel twice and couldn't.  They usually want your DOB to do anything and that is because of HIPPA.

Cleaning lady bailed and moved to San Francisco.  Didn't bother to tell me until I contacted her last week about cleaning house.

Anyway, a woman had advertised on our town's garage sale site on Facebook that she was looking for more houses. 

She came today for the first time.  She was here from 9 am to noon.  Never stopped moving and everything looks great!  Lucy didn't know what to make of her!  She sat on the tv stand and just watched in amazement.  I was very pleased with how she cleaned and the price was fair.  Ended up being cheaper than the other person.

I didn't have the correct change so told her just to keep it.  She wouldn't hear of it.

My dad had surprise visitors yesterday.  My cousin and his wife were on the way home from O'Hare and stopped by to see him.  He was still excited about it today.

I had a contractor out today and he will be putting in a bid to help fix up my wayward pantry.  I have decided to go the cheaper route and keep whatever problems are hidden in there hidden.  It was actually the contractors suggestion based on what he could see.  He warned me that if I were to rip things out, start over and have it completely done right would probably be more money than I wanted to spend.

He proposed new dry wall and shelves.  The shelves will be a little bit deeper and they will add shelves along one end also.  It would include a new light fixture and a new door.  Right now there is an old florescent light and metal bi-fold doors.  They will also put down a neutral vinyl flooring.  He said they had some remnants that would be perfect and relatively inexpensive.  I told them to also include putting in a new door from the kitchen to the garage.  One of my other projects would be replacing all the doors in my house so this would be a start.

We've had quite a bit of rain, actually. And some rather large gusts of wind, too. We've got branches down all over town. The power has flickered a few times, but hasn't gone off in our neighborhood.

I'm seeing on Facebook that some of my friends have been without power.  Tossing everything from the fridge.

Sounds like street flooding in some areas also.

It's a beautiful sunny day here.  It's too early for weather this warm.  We will pay for it.

Lucy is sleeping on top of a bag of plastic bags.  Cats are weird.

I was sitting on the couch and Lucy was sleeping on top of the couch behind me.  Next thing I know, she has rolled/fallen behind me and is behind me on the couch.  Cats are so funny when they are embarrassed.

It was a quiet day today .... I decided not to do laundry and I decided not to go grocery shopping. Then, because I was feeling very decadent, I actually ordered dinner and had it deleted (pork chops, mashed potatoes and green beans. With grilled calamari appetizer.)  In addition to the online tip for the delivery girl, I gave her a box of Girl Scout Cookies.

I did get bird feeders filled, and I organized one of my book shelves. And I did some banking stuff online.

(We now have both refunds ... state and federal)

And I talked several times to my wonderful DH. All is well with him.

Tomorrow ... laundry and groceries are on the agenda. And some rain, methinks.

We're having wind gusts tonight ... I've got patio furniture in the pool and the wind blew over our FULL trash can.

We did get rain yesterday and snow by Friday.

Today I went and had the hida scan with infusion on my gall bladder.  This is the second hida scan.  First time the infusion wasn't done.  In both tests, the gall bladder did not appear.  Tech said that means in all likelihood it will need to come out since it has happened twice.  First time, they got it to appear by giving me morphine.  I was an inpatient so no problem.  Couldn't do that today since I was driving.

First, I went on a 5 minute walk.  Still didn't appear.  Then I went on a 15 minute walk.  Tech said it was very faint.  She checked with radiologist and was told to infuse me.  So I got there at 8:15 and left at 11:30 AM.  Long morning.

Tomorrow is Lucy's turn.  She is getting her teeth cleaned in the morning.  Must remember to pick up and hide food and empty water dish.

It seems wrong that I should have TWO mosquito bites in February.

Did some Dr. Googling this morning and my guess is the gall bladder is coming out.  See surgeon on Tuesday.

Lucy is at the vet's now.  She woke me up numerous times wanting food.  I'm exhausted.  When my laundry finishes drying and is put away, I'm going to try to nap.

Lucy is home.  She's hungry and probably feeling a bit weird from the anesthesia.  Told me to feed her 1/2 what I usually feed her tonight and resume normal feeding in the morning.  That food will be gone shortly and she will probably bug me again tonight.  Oh well.

There wasn't a lot of tarter so they told me since this was 2 years between cleanings, to try 3 years.  I can handle that. 

They gave her pain meds and antibiotics that last 4 days.  She won't come sit on my lap.  Either she doesn't trust me or she's feeling loopy besides hungry.

Today, I did some momentous things. Well, not really ... but I did manage to change the magenta ink in the printer. Without making a mess. So there's that. I also filled bird feeders. And picked 38 grapefruit that I lined up along the curb in the hopes that some citrus-craving neighbors will make them go away.  The Tree Doctor called ... they are coming Friday to spray for Fire Blight. We have two trees with blight ... one in the front yard and one in the backyard. Which means I needed to locate the padlock for the back gate near the tree. So I sent my wonderful DH an email. This is how THAT conversation went:

Me:  Where is the key for the padlock on the gate?
Him:  It's hanging in the garage. You can't miss it.
......................................
Me: OK, there are 17 keys hanging in the garage, can you narrow it down?
Him: It's the only one that actually unlocks the padlock.
Me: Can you tell me where it was hanging in the garage?
Him: On the wall.
Me: They were all hanging on the wall.
Him: Just tell them if they push really hard on the neighbor's fence, they can open the gate without unlocking the padlock.
Me: I feel so much safer now, thank you.

Lucy's revenge was to sleep in the laundry basket that had some socks in it.  She is now purring and wanting to be on my lap this evening.  Guess she needed to sleep off the anesthesia.

This has been a long week.  I am trying to get some work done around the house and the bid is coming in way more than what they were originally thinking.  I don't know if this is one of those we don't really want the job so we are going to bid it way high type deals or what.  Anyway I have someone else coming out next week to look at the job and give me another bid.

The key was found ... it was the 11th key I tried. (sheesh)

A quiet day today at Petco. Came home, surprised to find an Amazon Prime Pantry box on my front porch, since I intentionally waited until late last night (after 10pm) to order things so the box would arrive on SUNDAY, and not SATURDAY (when I will be at Petco.) So, it arriving on FRIDAY was unexpected. Fortunately, no thief noticed the HUGE box on the front porch.

I opened the front door when I got home so I could retrieve an Amazon box off the front porch. (I'd previously looked around carefully to make sure none of my inside-only ninja cats were around.) I thought I saw an orange fluffy blur out of the corner of my eye, but when I looked again ... I saw a fluffy orange tail disappearing around the corner into the dining room. Whew. Cheeto was safely indoors. I lugged in the box (helpfully labeled "Heavy") and closed the door.

Two minutes later, World War 3 broke out in my multi-cat household. Why? Because that was NOT my fluffy-tailed Cheeto who I thought I saw out of the corner of my eye ... it was the fluffy orange cat who lives in the neighborhood. It took 10 minutes to catch all of MY cats and get them safely locked up, so I could escort the fluffy boy back outside. There are tufts of orange fur all over the house, my cats are still freaked out, and I'm once again reminded that I clearly need to train to be a cat wrangler. And how was YOUR day?


It was a fairly busy day at Petco, with only a few really annoying or weird people, so that was good. When I got home, I brought in the mail (got a check for $31.58 from a Class Action Lawsuit) and re-hung all the bird feeders on the tree that I'd taken off this morning so they could spray.

Heard from my wonderful DH today ... all is well. Did I mention he has a lizard under his fridge?

Crazy day.  My sister is sick so I took dad to lunch.  First, my garage door was frozen and wouldn't open.  Took about 15 minutes to get it open.  I knew dad was sitting in the lobby and there was no way to call him.

When we went shopping on Thursday it was 71 so a light jacket was fine.  There is now snow on the ground, it was 20 degrees and a wicked north wind.  Dad comes to the car in his spring jacket.  I tried to get him to go change to his winter coat, but did not win the battle. 

He comments on how cold it is.  Yes, I told you to go get your winter coat.  Dairy Queen has a new soda machine that he can't operate.  It's a fancy thing and he can't figure it out.  When he wants a refill, he has acquired a habit of tapping his cup on the table.  Irritates me and my sister.  Today I told him if he didn't ask me nicely, I was not going to refill his soda.  He knew I meant it, so he asked me nicely.  Will see what he does tomorrow.

He wants to stop for lottery tickets.  Gets in car and says it's really cold out there.  I just told him I tried to get him to wear his winter coat and he'd better wear it tomorrow. 

I asked if he knew there was snow on the ground and he said yes.

Tuesday:  Appointment with surgeon  Really hoping there is a date set for surgery and no more tests

Wednesday:  Another doctor's appointment

Thursday:  Take dad on his errands and Pac 12 women's basketball tourney starts

Friday, Saturday and Sunday:  Watch hoops

I don't know what my plans are for the week. Payday is Wednesday, so I'll do banking. Friday and Saturday are Petco days. The house gets cleaned on Tuesday. I suspect Jenna will be by twice to torture me. I will get trash cans out on Monday, in on Tuesday. Gardeners on Thursday. I need to hit Trader Joes ... Monday or Tuesday, probably.

Lab results:  potassium is normal so I don't have to take any more potassium pills that are of a size for a horse

Trash is out

Hopefully find out what happens to the gall bladder tomorrow and no more tests.
