Arghhh!!!!! Merry Christmas to me. My car will only go in reverse. Yes this is my brand new 2016 car that I just bought a couple months ago because I wanted a reliable car. This better be covered under warranty. I hope it's a simple, covered-by-warranty fix. Otherwise, driving backward everywhere would sure be a hassle.

Sharon, hope the repair is covered by warranty.
Lucy and I quite enjoyed our day together. Phoned a friend on the East Coast who I know would be alone and we had a most enjoyable chat.
I did it my way and I enjoyed it.

Hope they are open this morning. Lots of places around here closed since Christmas fell on Sunday.
I have to take dad to Dairy Queen for lunch. It rained most of the night, but the temperature is falling. Roads are partially covered in ice.

Rain expected to start early this afternoon and continuing on into tomorrow with a possibility of wet snow and sleet.
Doesn't feel like a Monday with so many places closed around here. I'm looking forward to getting back into a regular routine

I did some filing and wrote out some checks ... and THEN remembered that there's no mail today. Oh well, tomorrow it is. Today feels like a Sunday ... but I know it's Monday. Hopefully I won't forget to drag out the trash cans tonight.... though I guess I can do it this afternoon since the mailman isn't coming! (We have curb-side mailboxes, so our trash cans block the way a bit ... so we try to wait until after.) I was pleasantly surprised to see that my wonderful DH is not only getting paid on the 30th, but it's the correct amount, lol!

Thanks for the reminder that I need to put my garbage out tonight. It appears that the transmission did go out in my car and there doesn't seem to be any question what so ever about this being covered under warranty. I picked up a free loaner car this afternoon. It is a nice Cadillac crossover SUV. They did say that they will have my car for about a week probably.
I did run into the man who sold me my car originally. He stopped and asked me how I was enjoying my car. It was AWKWARD on his part when I told him that it was towed in this morning because the transmission had gone out. In a very weird way I took delight in this because my car shouldn't even be in there with transmission problems at 5000 miles.

I also have to take the trash out tonight. Clean the litter box and take it out.
No recycling will be taken out tonight as the wind is blowing about 25 mph and I don't want everything blowing all over the neighborhood.

I hope after the car is fixed you have no other problems Sharon. I have to quote this so I can like it again. I actually feel fortunate that it happened when/where it did. We had taken the freeway and then a local highway to get out to Bro's house and were getting ready to reverse our route. Thankfully I wasn't in the middle lane of I-5 on Christmas eve when the car decided to die.

We had gusts as high as 46 mph yesterday. If I had woken up early enough this morning, I might have gotten by with putting the recycling out. Those winds are not uncommon, especially in the winter. This is such a small town that it's almost like living in the country. There are cornfields behind the building across the street and at the end of the street. That means there isn't much to stop things when the winds blow. Not quite as bad as being in the country but not like being in the city where houses block some of the wind.

Just got home from joining family for Dnephew2's birthday dinner. His birthday was a couple of weeks ago but it snowed the weekends before and after. Dad had told me he got a "little" promotion and will be moving. Since dad sometimes confuses things, I got to ask the right person. Yes, he got a promotion and will be moving to Des Moines from Minneapolis. He has been looking at apartments near where he will be working and he will be able to get a 2 bedroom with underground garage for less than he pays for a one bedroom and he has to pay to park. However, he won't be able to use the skywalk to get to work. He hit a coyote or a wolf in Minnesota on the way home for Christmas. His car is being fixed and he is taking sister's car for this week. He has instructions not to hit a coyote while driving her car. He said the promotion is a nice one and if dad knew how much in $, he would thing it's huge as opposed to little.

I loathe, abhor, detest and any other negative thing you can think of my loaner car. It is constantly vibrating, blinking, talking to me etc. The drivers seat vibrates whenever you do something it doesn't like or you change the heat setting or whatever. It really hates me because I put the car in and out of the garage without putting on the seat belt. I don't have an automatic garage door opener so I back out of the garage and then turn the car off and lower the door.
Tonight on the way home, after sitting at an almost complete standstill for 20 minutes because of an accident, it tells me "Caution there is crash". Yeah stupid car I just passed the accident. The fire truck, ambulance and multiple police cars kinda clued me in. Besides the MPH sign that sits in the display was saying 55 MPH and I was maybe going 3 MPH. Is that not cautious enough for you.

Sorry you hate your loaner, but I'm stuck with older vehicles until I die. I know those are all the latest and greatest safety features, but I would be the type of person to become enraged and run my car into a median at 50 mph in an attempt to get the judgy AI/GPS bitch to shut up. Backseat drivers I can ignore, as long as they're not electronic ones who don't know when to quit.

Two more days this week and they announced this afternoon that it is early release on Friday. I am hoping to be able to leave around noon. We are supposed to be getting some of that arctic air that is coming in this weekend. If we get off early Friday I will hopefully have enough daylight to be able to take down my outdoor lights before the super cold temps hit.

In the past 4 days, I've watched 40 episodes of Game of Thrones. Don't judge me.
Tomorrow, I shall frolic with kittens.
And it's pay day!

I won't judge you. This time of year, I watch all the basketball I can. Will be watching my team online later this evening.
Sister is sick and went to doctor today. As of now, I take dad to lunch tomorrow and she will on Sunday. I suggested we both go on Monday because that is mom's birthday.

I got my outdoor lights down and put away this afternoon. Then I went over to Mom's and helped her get hers all down. I would have helped her put them away but she wasn't interested in that, but at least they are all in the garage. We are expecting some downright cold weather over the next two weeks and this way she won't have to go outside and deal with that.
She still has her tree up. Supposedly the plan is for her to take it down tomorrow. I may call tomorrow afternoon and see if she has the ornament off and if so then I will go over there and help chop off the branches and get them into the yard debris can for her.
Part of the reason she hasn't gotten all of her chores done is she went to see my aunt in the hospital. Aunt had surgery on Wednesday before Christmas but hasn't been doing well. They put her back in the hospital with the flu. I guess there are so many cases of the flu that they are opening hallways and wings that haven't been opened in years. Mom said there were 45 people ahead of my Aunt waiting for a bed at the hospital.

This is the last day of my Game of Thrones marathon ... and it's a perfect day for couch surfing since it's grey, cold and rainy outside.

I have an exciting evening planned. I have the police scanner going in the background while I am messing around here. Will probably go to bed early and then get woken up by the fireworks. Oreo hates fireworks, Blackie doesn't even notice them.

I'm going to do my usual Saturday evening routine of calling my friend in Colorado.
Hope I can get her off the phone so I can get to sleep before any fireworks. Lucy doesn't like fireworks.

January 1 ~ Adulting Report!
1. Went to the grocery store and bought VEGETABLES! Radishes, cucumbers, baby bok choy, greens, peppers, tomatoes, and already-cooked mixed veggies from the deli section. Oh, and mushrooms. (I am trying to get back on the veggie bandwagon)
2. We filled bird feeders and got some bushes trimmed. I am now SORE. Soaked in the hot tub and put Neosporin on my scratches.
3. Got all of my tax stuff together) ... receipts, charitable giving, deductions, etc. Now all I need is one bank statement and to download my wonderful DH's W-2 on Jan 6.
4. We dragged the long-abandoned exercise bike from exile in the back room to a prominent place in the family room. My goal is to start slowly, but to start exercising on it again.
We're now watching the remake of Ben Hur on our Roku via Amazon. SAVE YOUR MONEY, it's not very good.

Since one of my goals for 2017 is to get back on track eating my veggies, I will probably annoy the daylights out of you by listing them some of the time.
LUNCH: Southern Greens (spinach, collards, mustard, turnip), carrots, zucchini, radishes, cucumber, tomatoes. (plus other items, of course) And a 1/2 banana with breakfast.
My wonderful DH received a gift card from Bed Bath and Beyond so we bought a new door mat ($4.99 on clearance), new navy rugs for the master bathroom, a plastic storage bin, and a Homedic shiatsu chair massage-y thing. It's wonderful.
We also popped into Sprouts and Trader Joes for veggies and proteins. And managed NOT to buy tomatoes, which we're now out of ... oh well.

❤ mollymouser ❤ list away on your veggies. It inspires me to eat more veggies and every once in a while I will give something on your list a try, baby bok choy was one I have tried among others. I will maybe get my car back at the end of the week. They are waiting on parts and all the parts warehouses were closed last week.

Was sick yesterday and still sick today. About all I have accomplished is cleaning the cat box and taking out the trash. Didn't even know it was misting outside.
I have to go to town tomorrow to take my client's check. I called her and told her it would be there by 10 AM. Plan to have it there by 9 and straight back home.
Today would have been my mom's 93rd birthday. I am sad that I am sick because sister and I were going to take dad to Olive Garden today. I couldn't go so maybe we can do that for his birthday.
Already have an appointment with the gastroenterologist for Wednesday and I need to see her. I am not agreeing to drinking the yuk. Reading too much that the tests are unreliable.
