Three kittens adopted today at our adoption center: Allegra, Jazzy and Tugboat.
We're supposed to get rain tomorrow.
I wrenched my knee somehow, so I'm limping around and using a cane. Ouch.

Mmmmm.... I want pie!
2 adult cats adopted today ~ yay. And some random crazy guy came in and yelled at me about cat microchipping being the Mark of the Beast. (sigh)
Rained today ... yay. There's something nice about sitting in the hot tub in the rain.
Think I'm coming down with a cold/respiratory bug ... so I'm downing garlicky-chicken broth with sriracha. Hope that works!

Awesome news about adult cats being adopted. If I ever get another cat it will be no younger than 1 year old.

My last two cats have been adults when I adopted them. No more kittens for me.
Take care of yourself, Molly.

I got up this morning at 12:30pm. OK, I guess that means I got up this afternoon. I showered and made it to the recliner, where I've been ever since. Had chicken soup and sashimi for dinner. (Yep, I'm weird)
Thanks for the well wishes.

I puppy sat yesterday. We had a good time and even got out for a little walk. It is nice to have a dog for a day at a time and then send them back home. The cats were sequestered in my room all day. They have a litter box in my bathroom and I put there food and water in there so they have everything they need. It still ticks them off though.

WOOO HOOO! My wonderful DH had his annual PT ( physical training) test at 7am (nothing like a run at 37 degrees, brrrrr) and he passed with flying colors! (94%) Not too shabby for someone who turned 50 this year! ( He sounded tired and relieved when he called) He's been stressing (and preparing) for this for MONTHS and MONTHS ... so I know that I'm relieved it's done for another year. Now he can stress over his deployment. He will be out of the country for a week or so Dec 12 ... returning for a short time ... then deploying out of the country until some time next year. He's already warned me to expect his pay to be all mucked up ( read: very late, and short) until probably January 15. Niiiiiice. Glad I already paid the property taxes! This also means that I will get to deal with our income taxes all by myself. (Which, in all fairness, is pretty much what happens EVERY year, lol!) I've been busily ordering toys from Amazon for a local holiday toy drive. We went and trekked through Walmart Friday night to buy soccer balls and basketballs for the Toys for Toys drive and after dealing with Walmart crowds and the the world's slowest checkout system and parking lot craziness, I realized how very wise my decision to opt for Amazon was!

IMO, it's always wise to stay away from the craziness of Walmart. I only go there when dad needs cough drops as he will only use Equaate brand and it's only at Walmart. If he ever needs a prescription drug, it will also be at Walmart.
Woke up to a beautiful first snow this morning. It snowed until a little after noon. Probably 4 inches or so of heavy, wet snow. Lost my satellite television for a while due to the snow but it's back now.
Tomorrow I go for the fructose breath test. What I was allowed to eat today was not appealing. I have had my "last" meal until after the test. Have to stop drinking water at 8 PM. I can take my evening meds, but not morning meds.
I'm told the worst part of the test is boredom. I charged the kindle, iPad and phone to keep me occupied. I am hoping the worst part is boredom.

Did not do the test yesterday. Nobody bothered to tell me the test is done in a room with 2 other people. Room is about the size of my bathroom. I told them I don't do group tests. Now scheduled "for people like you" on a Thursday. After seeing the glasses with the stuff I was going to drink, I am thinking of just saying no.
Was supposed to discuss colonoscopy yesterday also. That didn't happen either. Tried to tell me that was not scheduled and she was already behind. Going to do that tomorrow and plan on telling them I'm not doing the drink the yukky stuff test.
ETA: Sister said she would not have done the test with two other people either.

I am sad. A former CU football player and Heisman Trophy winner committed suicide last night. I am wondering about CTE as he was still taking painkillers from football injuries from college and the NFL. Hope his family donates his brain to find out. Please be careful with your kids and football. I have spent the evening researching foods for people who are fructose intolerant. Going to work on the diet myself without drinking the yuk.

We are getting ready for a brief cold snap. Actually tonight should be the first freeze of the fall/winter and it will be a hard freeze. Thursday morning they are anticipating freezing rain/sleet for several hours until it warms up. I am glad that I have the day off.

I'm still battling a respiratory bug and wheezing up a storm. This morning, I added dizziness (vertigo) and an earache. Ugh.

Take care of yourself, Molly.
Told doctor I am not drinking the yuk. She said okay. Said to go with the diet I have researched and prescribed a medication that I was given in the hospital that is not to be taken longer than 12 weeks.

Took dad grocery shopping today. He wants to buy a light bulb. Doesn't know the wattage so I ask him where it goes. It goes over the dining room table, which is a fixture in the ceiling. The facility replaces those so I tell him to call them. He says no, he will get my sister to take him to buy a light bulb since I won't let him get one. When I take him home and tell him to call, he says no, he will tell the guy when he sees him. If I would just let him get a bulb, he could change it himself. I ask if he has a ladder and he says no. He says if he can't reach it, he will climb on a chair. The chairs have wheels. I called the facility and my guess is that it's already changed and I am in trouble.

TheOtherMe be glad that your Dad isn't asking for tools to repair things around there. My grandpa wanted his drill one time. Mom finally got it out of him that he wanted to drill some holes into the window frame to put some hooks into. Then he could loop the phone cord up there so it wouldn't be in the way when they came into clean. The dance studio where DD grew up was having a fundraising activity this evening and Mom and I went down there. It was so good to see the instructors and their families and people we used to know. DD started taking dance at this studio in first grade and danced there all the way through high school. She was even teaching beginning classes while in high school. The original owners (a brother and sister) have turned the day to day running of the place over to the sisters daughter, who was in high school when DD started dancing.

Dad never did any kind of repairs, but mom did. Dad didn't change light bulbs either. Mom did. He didn't say anything when I took him to lunch today so I don't know if he has forgotten about it or if the light bulb is changed.
Dad was mostly concerned about his lunch tomorrow since we are having a snowstorm today which is to last through tomorrow. Roads now are 100% snow covered and travel not advised.
At least it isn't my day to take him to lunch tomorrow. That will be my sister's decision and, from what she has said, he is on his own.
Sounds like you had an enjoyable time at the dance studio, Sharon.

Today was a busy productive day and I am tired. DD came up bright and early today. We had a goodie making marathon. We made sugar cookies, chocolate fudge, peanut butter fudge and peppermint bark. About the time that SIL was done for the day we were getting ready to frost the cookies so we coerced him into frosting some. Once he realized that we didn't care if they were decorated just so he kind of got into it. I split things with DD so now we both have good things in the house for the holidays.
Cats are beyond ticked that they had to spend another Saturday locked in my bedroom because of THAT DOG. Although as soon I started moving there things into my room they both showed up on their own and hopped up on the bed.

I returned to items to Amazon on the same day from UPS. Received refund on one very quickly. Nothing on the other. Looked up tracking number tonight and it says Amazon received it on December 6. I know it's Christmas but I'm not paying for something I returned.
Got on Amazon chat tonight with all the information and refund is being processed. Without the tracking information for them to verify, I doubt they would have made the refund.
I'm a stickler at following through on things like this and I'm glad since I will not have the refund on the credit card by the end of the week.

Another funny update on the ongoing saga between Oreo and THAT DOG. There was a piece of rawhide chew bone left on my kitchen floor. Oreo has been batting it around until it ended up underneath the microwave cart. I believe that was the plan all along. Get rid of the toys, get rid of the dog, or at least if the dog comes over she won't have any toys.
