We have 'yours' and 'mine' cars. Since we bought a house last January we are trying out driving my car to Florida the beginning of October staying a month then leaving the car and flying home for the holidays. We will fly south after the holidays and have the car and a golf cart available to use for 3-4 months then drive 'my' car back north.
Golf season is over up here so my husband only needs transportation to go work out in the mornings. If we are both going out in the evening I hook a ride with friends. So far the one car situation for a couple of months is working ok for us.

When we married, DH and I each had 2 vehicles. Since then 2 have died and we have replaced them with 2 more. We each have a commuter car and a 4 wheel drive, but my 4 wheel drive is now on its last legs and I will be looking for another. We are expecting some snow today, so I told DH to be prepared to pick me up from work. He would not have cared if I took his 4 wheel drive, but I would feel bad if it came home damaged - especially since it is one of the newest and nicest vehicles he(we) has ever bought. Better for him to do it than me. We are both free to drive any vehicle in the driveway, but I confess that it is usually me who takes his - just because both of his are pick-up trucks and much more handy at for hauling products to feed my gardening addiction. DH works odd shifts and we are 20 miles from town, so no carpooling for us. He also dislikes driving "cars", so he rarely drives my commuter car.

We generally share our vehicles depending upon the needs of the person driving. The only thing is I cannot smoke in DH's daily driver PU, and I can smoke in my Blazer or little PU so he rarely drives either of them.

Kind of. We have three cars and a truck between us, and I really don't care what she wants to drive. However, two of the cars are identical, same make, model, and year, just different colors. She keeps her stuff in one car, I keep mine in another. Other than that, neither one of us really cares which one we drive. My parents used to have separate cars, my dads was always a high end luxury car, my moms a basic grocery getter. Dad wouldn't let anyone drive his car...one of the reasons they ended up divorcing.
