I guess that is something i have never thought about. But, if it is something you want done and can afford it, then you should get it done. You must be one of those lucky ones that don't have to shave every day or have a lot of dark hair. Shave what? My face or legs or other areas?

I do wonder why some men don't shave their armpits. Seems like a no brainer to me.

Okay - so I'm going to ask the question here. I know the younger people are going full hairless - how skinny are you making the bikini area. I've got a full thicket, and going totally hairless to me seems like my husband would have to be into child molestation - so I'm not sure I want to do that, but I don't want to go in and demand to keep hair if everyone is going to make fun of me for being an old lady. I'll just keep shaving. LOL - I just want the clean look, not totally hairless, but as I said before I'm not too hairy to begin with luckily! Spicy - I wouldn't tip if I paid full price, but since I got a deal it seems nice...

I would also like to mention the pain. I found it extremely painful- the bikini being the worst. It's not like a quick rip of a wax strip, it's an hour of neverending zapping pain (I have alot of areas done at the same time). And I think I have a high pain tolerance... one technician told me about one of their clients that would have a few drinks beforehand and they'd always joke about it. Still, for me, it was worth it! yeah, it can be kind of painful especially in certain areas where I guess my skin is more sensitive, but the lady who does mine usually only takes about 20 minutes so I grit my teeth through it.

I just bought a groupon - $387 for underarms and bikini. We'll see if it's worth it.

I am completely hairless and I don't look like a little girl. I haven't had hair there since I was like 17. I guess I was traumatized by my mother's natural flaming out of control bush (my mother is a natural red head and doesn't believe in shaving a bikini line EVER). So I have pretty much always shaved. I like the clean look.
Oh and the PAIN...HOly hell I can remember days walking away with burn marks on my hoohah! It hurt like a MOFO! The hair did thin out from the treatments, but all it ended up doing is making my hoohah look like it had mange for awhile (when I let it grow in a little). Now you can't tell I ever had it done if I let it grow in. Same with my armpits.

For anyone who's never gotten it done, I compare it to taking a wet rubber band and snapping it against your skin. It is uncomfortable and definitely ask for a bag of ice afterwards.
But it wasn't as bad as electrolysis...I had a whole year of that on my upper lip. That was a bitch.

I thought the armpits hurt worse than the hoo hah. That's why I haven't done armpits. It only takes two seconds to shave them and on me the razor burn isn't as bad as on other areas. So to go through even more pain to not shave hasn't been worth it - but I'm a chicken. My bikini was initially supposed to be a brazilian. After the first session I told the woman I was more than happy to keep it to a bikini - the extra pain just wasn't worth it to me. I'd rather go through childbirth. So since we are being all warm and intimate this morning would it be a good time to mention that I recently found TWO grey pubes? I don't have a single grey hair on my head, but TWO on my hoo haw. FTW!!!!!!!!

He says he's not into little girls and prefers a grown woman. Which is fine with me because I hate pain so I don't wax or do anything that is painful. Just old fashioned razor and shaving cream for me.

Laser is a waste of money if you're a natural blonde. It doesn't get rid of light hair. I should've saved my money.
DD is thinking of buying the NoNo for herself, since she's got the same light coloring as me. Any suggestions out there? And no, Nair doesn't work for us either....

No, laser isn't a good option if you have blonde hair. Unfortunately, you're really stuck with electrolysis - which is permanent (unlike laser) but slow, painful and expensive. Sorry.

The NoNo is not recommended for bikini line (let alone a full brazillian). I was looking into it while I was looking for at home stuff and that's a big reason I didn't get it. My friend works for a place that sells it and said people like it (though she chose the SensEpil that I have). And oh dear God is electrolysis painful. I had it done on my lip and even with numbing cream it's the most painful thing I've experienced (no kids). I cried through each treatment and knocked my parents over with hugs when they agreed to laser.

Why I kept doing Brazilian long after I stopped working. What the hell did you teach that your bikini line had anything to do with your job?

This thread is making me LOL so glad I started it I am mainly interested in having my bikini line done. I get sick of shaving and don't care all that much for waxing. I am a big chicken when it comes to pain so now I am definitely on the fence about the laser treatments.

I have had underarms, bikini (3 fingers outside crease and 1 inside) and am currently doing my lower legs (5 out of 7 treatments done).
When I had underarms and bikini done I had to use the numbing cream but now they have the no-pain laser. Also, when I had the first 2 areas done they recommended 5 treatments, now they recommend 7. I paid $750 for underarms (1/2 price), around $1200 for bikini and lower legs are $1300 or so (60% off special). Totally worth it.
I have read that laser is one of those things that you shouldn't buy through groupon because anybody can open up a place and do laser.
MD started cracking down on med spas and now I have to go to VA to get my laser treatments done.

PE in Florida. Hot and humid all the time. Even the male PE teachers trimmed VERY close.

Sheesh, even when I sail with a mixed crew and there's no head (bathroom on a boat) so people have to pee over the side, I couldn't tell you about the grooming habits of the men. It's called TMI.

Guys talk. I listen. They always forgot I wasn't a guy. That's how I learned the phrase "manscape."

DH is older and European. I wish we could get him around a group of guys discussing the concept of manscaping.

I wish DF would. I've hinted tactfully but I think he thinks I'm kidding. Yeah, I know. If you figure out how to convince him without hurting his feelings, please share your secret. And before you all act horrified, I'm sure I'm not the only one out there with this particular issue. Especially with those of us who have husbands over 40.

Maybe you can promise more "favors" if he manscapes? Or threaten to cut them off? Whichever works for you.

I even started this knowing I was asking for TMI - but boy, I didn't expect this.
