I am off today. I have a hard choice to make. I can go to the Chicago Bears/Detroit Lions Monday night football game tonight, or, stay home and watch the Presidential debate. The seats will not be very good. What should I do? Should we have a poll, and I agree to abide by the results? I am favoring the debate, as of now. Will need to know by 4pm Chicago time.

VB-ultimately, the important day is Election Day. For the next few weeks, things are going to go up and down as they will. The outcome isn't going to change just because you stayed home to watch the debate.
The Chicago Bears/Detroit Lions game will only be played tonight.
Go have some outdoor fun.

Catch the game - a million times over. I'd rather scrape my nails down a chalkboard for an hour instead of watching those two fools go at it . . .

DVR the debate and go to the game and enjoy yourself, even if the seats aren't all that great...

Watching football is better at home than from crappy seats at the stadium. Watch the game at home and switch back and forth between the debate.

I say a mod should start a poll as to whether or not VB stays home to watch the debate or get some fresh air and go to the game.

RNC gave you a debate day off? Wow. I say go enjoy the game. No reason to watch the debate. The memo will be in your box tomorrow.

It's in Chicago (outdoors). Looks like a high of 70 today with a 60% chance of PM thunderstorms.
Watch the Cardinals and the Bears PiP.

Soldier Field... no dome... we (Chicagoans) don't believe in 'em... it's against our religion... domes are for wussies... ;D Nuthin' like goin' to a game in December, snowin' so bad that you can't see the goal-posts on the other end of the field, with a 30-40 mph gusty wind as cold as hell itself blowin' off frozen Lake Michigan, whippin' through the stadium, and freezing players and fans solid... now that's Iron Fan Football... ;D " Da Bears..." ---------- Note the weird combination of ersatz classical and new-age architecture (Greek columns to the left and right]... gutted OLD Soldier Field innards but left the classical shell because of public outcry... only in Chi-Town...

I'd go to the game unless I thought I'd be rained on the whole time. Record the debate or watch the highlights later. Go Bears!

Hmmn, Dems all say the game is it. I don't know if I want to sit in a rainstorm and drink over priced beer. I could still tape the game and watch the debate. It is seriously thundering outside right now, but not raining yet. Count me as an "undecided" right now

Do you mean to say that you'd rather sit safe-and-warm at home instead of going to get drenched in icy rain on a cold night with a stiff breeze blowing-in off of Lake Michigan in order to watch the Bears? Blasphemer! Heretic! ;D The regional weather map looks like this is all gonna blow-over in the next couple of hours, and if the sun comes out later in the day and the skies are likely to stay clear, then I'd definitely vote for the Game... and you can always sneak-in your own hot cocoa or flask of brandy or sumfin'...

Have to admit, it wil not be too icy. High in the seventies today...... I am more of a political animal right now. Fighting traffic gridlock, overpriced parking, and getting home late all play into it.

Overpriced beer, overpriced parking, traffic gridlock, travel-times, etc... hey, if you have a ticket, but if you weren't 'game' to head down to Soldier Field tonight after all, why did you even bother asking the question?

I think it was to annoy me by pointing out that supporting the Cardinals is not even in his top 2 things to do tonight.
