DH REALLY wants to take another trip to Disney. REALLY REALLY REALLY wants to go. I've had enough of Disney and want to go other places. We're also planning on going to Anna Maria Island, FL in April and the Bahamas in June, so our vacation allocation is tapped. He texted me when I was in a meeting last night that he was looking at their website and really wanted to go. I texted him back and said "if that's what you really want, go ahead and book it." He reconsidered and won't book it.

Arch, this is like a guy asking his wife/GF/what ever about going to strip club with a few of his friends. She says, okay, go ahead no problem. Then he comes home and the next day she is in a snit.

Anna Maria Island?
Have you been there?
It's a nice place for a long afternoon. I like the beaches there (Bradenton Beach, Holmes Beach, etc). I can't think of any nice accomodations there. Oh, I guess you'd be renting a condo, yeah, then maybe.
Y'know, Disney would be less than 2 hours away from Anna Maria!
You might consider Casey Key (quite near to Anna Maria). Or Sanibel Island a bit further south.
I have been to Key West. Don't need to go there again. Especially not driving there.

I'd rather my husband wanted to go to a strip club than to freaking Disneyland After living 45 minutes from there for nearly 4 years I am all Disney'd out. FWIW- most of my female friends couldn't care less if their spouse wanted to go to a strip club. Every once in a while= no big, every night or every week= not going to fly (mostly because the cover charge and directs are outrageous $$ wise)

My parents spend the winter in Anna Maria Island and my sister lives in Bradenton. My sister owns the beach house where my parents stay. I've been there many times. We go stay with my parents.

Swamp, sounds very nice. I like the beaches there better than those near where I live in the next town South. People are less snooty, too.

What about a compromise...a Disney cruise? DS and her family went a couple of years ago. Her kids were teenagers but they enjoyed themselves even though it was a Disney cruise. DS said there is a wide range of stuff to do for all ages, great service, great food, and some really cool private island that they stopped at. You could get Disney and the Caribbean all in one.

But that has nothing to do with Disney, does it? I don't see anythign mean about your response. Did you guys go to Disney last year? It's reasonable to want to use your vacation time and money to go to new destinations as well.

The best thing about Disney cruises? They're the only cruise line I know that let you bring your own booze aboard!

My wife would rip my bizzalls off if I even talked about going to a gentleman's club. DH goes sometimes because someone he does business with people who fly in and want to go (Vegas, baby). Don't get me wrong, I am sure he doesn't mind it, but if he were all that into it he would go on his own. Really, for me, it isn't a big deal because DH couldn't get a stripper to have sex with him unless he paid her. He would never have sex with anyone who he could pay for sex (not that strippers sell sex, but if they did, he wouldn't buy) because he is completely obsessed with germs and disease.

My wife would rip my bizzalls off if I even talked about going to a gentleman's club. LMAO. Are those near your balls? Were they factory standard or an option? they sound fun! My sweetie persists in his belief that I would be mad at him going to a strip club, but I don't care. Like an earlier poster said, I wouldn't be happy if he was going to one all the time, spending all his money and preferring to see strangers naked than being home seeing me naked - but once in a while who cares. But my sweetie seems to think that all men get laid at strip clubs? Is this a thing? ETA: he actually did go a couple years ago for the first time when he hosted his future BIL's bachelor party. hmmmmm. Should I have asked more questions about what happened that evening?? LOL.

DS said there is a wide range of stuff to do for all ages, great service, great food, and some really cool private island that they stopped at. You could get Disney and the Caribbean all in one. DW and I went for our 5th anniversary (1999-Disney Magic) and again in 2011 for spring break with DD (Disney Dream). We had a blast both times. It was amazing our first trip - we were childless at the time and other than at dinner, we virtually didn't see any kids. They have whole sections of the ship that are "Adults Only" and we stayed in those areas most of the time. The last trip we obviously spent more time in the kids area, but not by much because DD went to the the "Oceanear's Club" (aka kids area) and we practically had to drag her out at times. The crew is amazing - we were so impressed by our waiters on our first trip we can (13 years later) still remember their names! But even on the most recent trip, we still found that the crew went above and beyond our expectations. The next time we do a Disney cruise though, I would like to do a 7 night cruise and see more of the Caribbean - have been to Nassau twice now and want to see more. The best thing about Disney cruises? They're the only cruise line I know that let you bring your own booze aboard! Just make sure you carry it on and off the ship in your carry-on bags. We brought it on and had no problems but when we left the ship we put it in our suitcases since they were 'only' going to the resort and three out of the five bottles of Jamaican rum were shattered and out clothes smelled like a rum factory. Many others have reported the same thing. It's as if they hired the Gorilla from the American Tourister commercial from the 70's.

imawino- didn't you know all strippers are just ladies trying to put themselves through grad school without having to take on student loans I actually have a friend that was a stripper (she made very good money) and two other friends that just waitress-ed at the local gentleman's club. They made good money in tips just by working there and their uniform was black pants and a white t-shirt so not exactly provocative. Of course the dancer's made way more money than they did just as waitresses.

I guess I just don't get why adults would want to go to Disney? I could see doing it with DD when she's older, but just for us... I don't get it.

It can be his consolation prize for all of the wholesome and innocent fun you are depriving him of with your meanness.
