I am exercising, not as much as I should, but I started a couple of weeks ago. It helps a little. I called a no-kill animal shelter, so I can start volunteering. I joined a couple of Meetup group. Hopefully they will organize something on a weekend soon, so I can attend. I wasn't going to log in today; but I'm glad I did. I'm glad you are taking steps to improve your situation!! Just doing those things can be really hard when you are depressed. Keep us updated & remember that you have friends on here who do care.

Glad you are feeling a bit more positive and coming up with a plan. I'd suggest to update your resume and keep an eye out for jobs in Miami to send it to. It might take a while to find a good position, so getting started now can't hurt. Plus, you'll be working on making forward progress.

One other last thought: look for employers in Connecticut who also have offices in Florida and have a transfer policy/benefit. For example, my former employer has internal weekly job postings of open positions through out the country that only existing employees may 'bid' on. To be eligible to bid on open jobs in other locations, you first must have been at your current location for a certain amount of time (usually 18-24 months). Other companies who have transfer policies/benefits may require more/less time at current location.
Having a job waiting for you at your ideal dream destination takes 90% of the worry out of the relocation.

Maybe they will let you be a cat petter. My brother was working at a shelter taking cats to a special room to sit in a rocking chair petting them. They made him take a class and buy to tee shirts but he liked petting cats and didn't have any. Cats get tired of being in cages and like some lap time.

Hi Ava, I used to live in Connecticut around Hartford, and I know that things can be kind of lonely. I don't know why, exactly. I looked at the stats for Argentines living in the U.S. and I can see why you are lonely for your own compatriots...there are less than 50,000 Argentines living in America. I was in Argentina for a month when I was eighteen, and I loved it there. I've always wanted to go back. I found one site that lists a few Argentines actually living here, and a whole bunch more that want to move here. Maybe you can connect with a couple that live here already. www.expat-blog.com/en/nationalities/argentine/in/north-america/usa/ Also, wikipedia has a whole interesting article about Argentine Americans..... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argentine_American Hang in there and remember that you are loved.

They love volunteers to do this. I always walked that large dogs because they needed the attention & exercise & tended to wait much longer to get adopted.
