Still don't understand the eat to lose weight? The first 3 maybe 4 weeks of the bet I exercised 6 days a week. Did not lose a pound to break into the 250's. I kept bouncing around 263. I was eating 3 times a day and a full plate for dinner. Then I cut down on eating the full plate for dinner and the first 10 pounds just starts to drop off. so from 263 to 253 was / is the weight I can normally drop, and thought ok this is the plan to eat less. Then I get to 250 and weight becomes difficult to get off. I spend the entire month of September eating less and less, and almost stopped eating my regular foods I normally eat during the month of September, and the weight doesn't come off. Well doesn't come off like it did during August. During August I lost the weight in what two weeks - right? from 263 down to 250, which is 13 pounds lost in 2 or 3 weeks. Then in September down to 248, which is another 2 pounds now lost a total of 15 pounds in 3 to 4 weeks. So I don't get it that losing weight takes so much time. the info-mercials, like Insanity or P90X, say 90 days lose 30, 40 pounds and look great! LOL HA! I laugh at their models! Ha HA I say. Well it can be done BUT it has to be with FULL concentration and very high motivation to go from start to look like the info-mercial. I dam sure don't have that kind of drive I have now learned - I didn't lose weight before because I didn't have the motivation and just complained, and wanted to lose weight. But now I changed my thinking used $700 to kick myself to start and get serious. and so far that's what worked for me.

Z - Like Sug was saying - When you stop eating your body's metabolism will slow down to store weight. It thinks you are starving it so it burns less calories when it does that. You are better off eating more tiny meals also called "grazing". It will keep your metabolism active and it will burn more calories. Just be sure to eat healthy and small, but well-balanced, meals/snacks. And drink lots of water to make you feel fuller. You are doing great!

AHH yes Peace it's just a bit confusing to me. That was the other thing I didn't understand at first. was drinking more water. it was suggested to drink more water. I read up on a few MSN Health pages drink more water. so I thought ok I'll replace the soda I normally drink with water; and I'll have water with dinner more often. to me I thought that was the meaning of drink more water. and no that's not what was meant. well not exactly anywayz. then after it was explained to me in a MSN article? or the Wikipedia I was reading to drink more water is when it clicked. OH! drink more water all day drink water and helps body flow and process stuff. so at work I drink minimum of 4 ten ounce cups of water weekly. I would say daily but I can skip a day or two during the week. so I can say weekly I drink a minimum of 4 cups during the day.

I asked 2 acquaintances I've known for years first and one I've know for over 15 years said she will help. Pay Schedule Weight lost: If 20 pounds lost - she keeps $0 (returns $700) 243 If 15 to 19 pounds lost - she keeps $200 (returns $500) 248 to 244 If 10 to 14 pounds lost - she keeps half $350 (returns $350) 253 to 249 If 5 to 9 pounds lost - she keeps $500 (returns $200) 258 to 254 If 0 to 4 pounds lost - she keeps all (returns $0) 263 to 259 and umm....gave myself 3+4= 7 weeks to lose 20 pounds from 263 to start! Duration Saturday July 14 to Friday August 31

Duration October 1 to October 6oh well guess acquaintance and I are back to the way we were cause I have not heard from her in about two weeks now. No not mad or upset or angry. I have learned that maybe I should stay away from the casinos? LOL cause this was a bet I should have won. (Laughing) So it's over, well not over entirely! But it's over, the dead line part is over! YAY! I'm eating now screw that! I was down to having a Ensure twice a day salad at night! that's not eating. Drinking milk and lots of milk and drinking lots of water. Yea week prior Ensure once, Milk in the afternoon, light dinner at night. After 7PM to 12 midnight snack of cereal, or Ritz with turkey, or fruit. X-Best Friend and I are talking one day and she's asking what's wrong why am I so upset so much? Then she starts taking guesses. So I just let her know a very little of whats going on. How little I'm eating, and how I should be ok now cause I'm back to eating what I normally eat. She said yea I shouldn't have stopped that. I'm a big guy and my body is used to getting energy from the foods. stop eating so much in one sitting and spread it out during the entire day. She said stop drinking that Ensure shit it's for elderly people in their 70's. I did get upset said to her look you didn't take any interest all this time don't start now. But I take her word. I start having a breakfast. I purchased Whole Grain Bagels and have that with turkey and cheese in the mornings or cereal mostly Raisin Brand or Cheerios and bring 3 apples to work to eat during the day and have one at 10AM, another at 1PM and the last at 3PM. WOW now I don't get sleepy during the day! have a light dinner. did this pretty much all week! WHAT the fuck is this! by Saturday October 6, I broke past 248! I was now 246! I yelled on the scale OH MY GOODNESS! scared the crap out of our boy and woke up GF! she screams what! I'm yelling like I just won Publishers Clearing House. LOL So yea this was an exciting moment. maybe my mental block was x-best friend? now that I know I have her support? 246 pounds - with three more pounds to go? still upset that it took me from July to October to figure out on my own what x-best friend told me in two minutes. I have to eat to loose weight? HUH? hell what ever works. I just want to get to the 243 and maintain from there. so of course I gave myself til October 31 to reach my goal. I was thinking to ask Acquaintance for another chance, especially since all of September was a waste! but decide no, this is my fault and I must pay the consequences - FINE DUDE !LOL I am concerned about Thanksgiving and Christmas. It's only GF and I but GF cooks like were having a party and it takes a week for us to finish all the food. BUT now maybe I can convenience her to cook a bit less? I want to maintain and bounce around between 240 and 247. no more 250 on the scale. Duration October 7 to October 13scale 244!! WOW is all I can say I can actually hear is applause. I take a bow standing on the scale. LOL eating whatever just smaller portions and throughout the day. Having the apples during the day. (no offensive Just Apple - LOL). helps stay focused during the day at work and maybe provide a bit of energy. cause I did try running up two flights of stairs to wake up - didn't help. tried to get up and walk around to stay awake few times - really didn't help keep me awake and ended up giving me more work. so the Apples help so far these past two weeks. Plus X-Best Friend and I are really getting along again. She even came to visit me at work first time ever and I got to show her a few people I normally talk about. that made me so happy. so I think my stress levels have calmed down considerably - still get into mood swings but not as often. Now just have to wok on 1 - just one more freaking pound and I can relax a little bit more. LOL - I was thinking this is what it feels like to score 199 on Family Feud at the end of the show. ;D

Nice work, Z! I don't like t.v. shows like "The Biggest Loser". Not because I'm not impressed with how much weight the contestants lose, but the people I know personally who have kept the weight off have lost it slow & steady, and then you've gotta keep up the new lifestyle to keep it off. (And that's the hard part.) I agree with not skipping breakfast. You're better off eating light at supper, & eating breakfast, than skipping breakfast. Because at the end of the day, if you haven't eaten anything, you feel like you're STARVING. Keep up the good work!

That's not enough. You would do better with about 10 ten-ounce cups of water DAILY.
If you're drinking a lot of soda, that's a LOT of sugar, which means you're not going to lose the weight as quickly - sugar is harder to burn. Plus it dehydrates you - maybe that's why you get so winded when exercising. You have to stay hydrated - and the water helps flush all the toxins out of your system.

LOL - I was thinking this is what it feels like to score 199 on Family Feud at the end of the show. Duration October 14 to October 20sadness - seeing 244 on the scale with one pound to meet goal may have been too much. Funny now that I look at it like I won the race and throw my arms up in victory before crossing the finish line. I get so frustrated and laugh at people that do that like no jerk you didn't win yet and then the person right behind them in second place wins the race. and here I am doing just that and didn't win again! Although I had BIG PLANS to keep at it! go for the extra stuff and take off work for two days to push harder! NOPE! ran errands, did cleanup and work around the apartment no sweat from exercising just kept busy and quickly went from a beautiful 244 right up to 249lbs!

My stomach has gone down noticeable! for months I was not tucking in my dress shirt at work. That was on my nerves and I felt like a bum! on the other side of the coin I would tuck in my dress shirt and didn't like how far my stomach was so round; which got on my nerves more. it's a mixed bag in the office and area I live in. so I actually fit right in with a bigger stomach actually. some guys have the pregnant stomach like I do / did where it's our stomach that stick out and the rest of us is slim. then we have the all round fat guy. then we have the slim guys with flat ish stomach. that's where I get my it really doesn't matter attitude. so now! this week! I see and feel a difference. smaller stomach! my pants are seriously falling off my ass! the goal is still strong and I do want to win. LOL but with that said I only exercised 2 or 3 days this week! LOL unfortunately - my significant decrease in exercising, and basically gone back to eating full plates of dinner, mis-thinking I have to eat to lose weight concept - I'm back up in weight - 253!

I am trying to pull my jeans up over my (new smaller) stomach, with the belt pulled all the way in tight. then drop a big t-shirt over it. but as I walk - LOL pants are falling off my stomach. Dress pants - now I tucking my shirts again. because the shirt is now a bit big to keep untucked and I feel like a slob. these last few years I kept saying to myself buy smaller clothes to try and motivate to lose weight. that didn't take. so $700 did stick, this bet did stick and is still sticking for me to lose weight. the goal is still strong and I do want to win. LOL but with that said I only exercised 2 or 3 days this week! Saturday I went to 6 Flags Great Adventure. had a horrible time! I couldn't believe it but oh well. funny thing is the roller coasters and all that fun was so great I dropped a few pounds when I got home. Had thoughts of exercising in the dark - but that means a warm shower afterwards, in the dark, and that was not gonna happen without hot water. our maintenance staff did manage to get us hot water towards the end of the week. but still no exercising. basically my main focus was trying to keep GF calm. This was the first time GF and I had been without power this long with no idea when it would be turned back on. Keeping her calm, while I was having the time of my life and amazed how well I was doing; took constant energy keeping her calm. We were able to cook, all week and I ate full plates, mainly cause we wanted to finish up food before it spoils. no scale this week - but I'm sure it was nothing good!

I did it once I can do it again. now I'm comfortable with where I am at - saddens me but I think I do have a point? which is horrible, just fucking horrible! I've now convinced myself NOT to exercise. not to reach my goal. just post pone the entire bet! no body cares - it's only me! it's not like I don't see my doctor or go years without seeing my doctor and I'm guessing I need to lose the weight. My doctor does say I SHOULD lose weight. But it feels like he is not serious about it. it is something he tells all his patients. like it is more of a suggestion than a need. Hell I'm 6'4" and I HAD a pregnant size belly; and no serious loss of energy. no serious health risk at 270 pounds! so - sure - ok I can focus later!

Duration November 25 to December 01 Last bit of business to get out of the way - I used my free entree at Houlihan's. now I think I can - should get back on track. though I have realized NOT and I should NOT set a date - should not set a weight loss date. cause every time I do set a date - like I want to lose 3 pounds by the end of the week. I've always missed the mark by a day or two! But now I have thoughts of wanting to be back in the 245 range by the end of this month of December! Well actually meet my goal before Christmas feast time. That's just great - so I've set a goal within a goal and a date again. Part of me think I have not learned my lesson that this weight loss thing is a bit more difficult than I thought. But then again I know what I have to do to get back to the 245 weight. During the first two months I thought I knew what I was or what I had did wrong. but now I Think I know what I can or should do? Well lets get motivated - head in the game - and lets just do this! LOL Starting December 2! from 257

I think you just need to keep at it. Eat right, drink water, exercise, and just keep it going. Thanks Shooby!! That is the plan / idea getting support feels good! no support in RL but it's also a secret and NOT too many know what I'm doing no more words of encouragement from the few that do know. oh well no worries ;D

LOL Starting December 2! from 257 Duration December 02 to December 08lost 1 pound all week long!!! very upsetting. but better down than nothing at all or worse gain. eating apples during the day to keep the eat more and drink water idea. which does help during the day when sleep hits. but only one pound lost. I do keep thinking it's a personal goal to get into the 240 range again. and thoughts of it doesn't matter coming back stronger than ever. However I DO like having a smaller stomach, not being so round sticking out -pregnant belly. I do like having a smaller slimmer face, not being so round. it is so weird how my weight is almost back to when I first started, with a smaller belly and slimmer face. BUT those are starting to go back I noticed. I look at our Governor Chris Christy - he is fat, obese and looks just fine! I am nothing close to his size, so I can get that big and be just fine! LOL so that is my fight! smaller stomach, and slimmer face. the reward is so meaningless to get down in my weight. for example I make 45k a year and if get a bonus of $50 - wow it's meaningless. nice to get - yeaaa but .....oh well. now if I had people tell me or ask did you lose weight. yea that is motivation for sure. but my clothes are to big for that for one. two most people would not ask that anyway, as I noticed how people are so unaware of their surroundings. men for sure don't complement other men.women wouldn't ask or say anything cause I guess they don't want to give the wrong impression. and for 3 strangers usually running away or possibly intimated by my size. eff - whateve!! well it's another start 256 pounds this week.

Your clothes are looking a little baggy. You need a new wardrobe. Time for the micro manage. This meal will be nutritious and in line with my calorie quota for the meal. This one snack will be a healthy satisfying one. All you have to do is just this one thing, one time. Then when you have a long string of healthy choices, the next ones become easier. It's easier to choose the better food option. By the holiday feast, you will say to yourself. This portion control size is all I want and I will enjoy eating it but will have no 2nds. The next kudo is when people are saying how awful they feel about eating so much, you can say, I didn't do that. I enjoyed all the foods in a reasonable portion. <your arm will be sore from patting yourself on the back.>

Duration December 08 to December 15it's so fucking frustrating! this week I don't feel like wearing dress pants and shoes. I feel FAT! jeans and sneaks all week at work. the numbers on the scale say fat. now this week I feel even worse purchasing those last two pair of jeans! NOW THIS WEEK - they are soo FN big that I wore my basketball shorts under them to keep my jeans up with a belt. I take off the belt and the jeans drop to the floor! oh sure that's great when it's play time with GF, but it's frustrating cause it's mixed signal that I'm not as fat as I think? I mean - I look down and push out my stomach and don't see pregnant belly. My face is not as round and on the slimming side. but that fucking scale! no dude you're still fat! hold up a second (waist, waste, wait, weight) my waist has been usually 42, until I put on the weight and felt I was not going to get smaller. so at lunch time size 42 pants!! LOL! the jeans are 45 waist size, and they have always been big, but never this big! so I'm going to give them up to charity and have to find another pair or two, which means like I thought when I purchased them it would be a waste of money to go bigger instead of waiting even longer to find my size, which had been over a year. Also GF interrupted my exercise schedule twice - NO three times this week. But I get up early enough that she just can not keep up with interrupting - LOL I think she can not. that first month of this bet - well the duration of this bet she didn't believe in me and didn't feel I can do it. until she saw for herself the results, then she started interfering with my exercise routine. she would rather me bigger than slimmer and more attractive. I understand her reason, but it sure doesn't help towards my fake goal. WHY DO I SET DEADLINES - LOL end of the month is coming fast!! and I ain't lose'n any weight fast enough! starting from 254

I CALL BULLSHIT!!! and Zaire is full of it!! LOL - ;D I ATE EVERYTHING today at the holiday get together lunch at work! no not just I went for seconds - but I helped clean up and I CLEANED UP the left overs!! DAM-IT!! I knew today was coming - but figured I'll keep it cool and not pig out and it's just one stupid day - how bad can it hurt me? <<Zaire seriously dude!!>> oh well - and next week is Holiday feast!
