New plan, Zam. (a play on slip out the back Jack, make a new plan Sam, set yourself free.)
When something like this happens, the next few meals are your low calorie high volume of vegetables. Example, I will eat more vegetables in a stir fry than I will with a chicken breast and vegetables. It's the sauce.
Preceed every meal with a piece of fruit and some celery. Or, eat a few bites of protein first.
Food is not the enemy. It is a pleasure.

oh but it is - it is the enemy - food is my enemy it goes in and sticks around! that's why my weight does not go down - food doesn't get out! not until I force it out - and exercise to burn up what's left have to stay in high gear to get moving and keep moving - stay motivated can't or difficult to stay motivated because of lack of support at home, and constant changing of my mood past few days not speaking to my x-best friend is getting me down. GF internal cleaning should be any day now then my parents want to take us out to dinner and GF is cooking and GF family invited us for dinner at their place food is my enemy - mood swings are my enemy I need to find that source again to get motivated and stay motivated

Duration December 08 to December 15it's so fucking frustrating! this week I don't feel like wearing dress pants and shoes. I feel FAT! jeans and sneaks all week at work. the numbers on the scale say fat. now this week I feel even worse purchasing those last two pair of jeans! NOW THIS WEEK - they are soo FN big that I wore my basketball shorts under them to keep my jeans up with a belt. I take off the belt and the jeans drop to the floor! oh sure that's great when it's play time with GF, but it's frustrating cause it's mixed signal that I'm not as fat as I think? I mean - I look down and push out my stomach and don't see pregnant belly. My face is not as round and on the slimming side. but that fucking scale! no dude you're still fat! hold up a second (waist, waste, wait, weight) my waist has been usually 42, until I put on the weight and felt I was not going to get smaller. so at lunch time size 42 pants!! LOL! the jeans are 45 waist size, and they have always been big, but never this big! so I'm going to give them up to charity and have to find another pair or two, which means like I thought when I purchased them it would be a waste of money to go bigger instead of waiting even longer to find my size, which had been over a year. Also GF interrupted my exercise schedule twice - NO three times this week. But I get up early enough that she just can not keep up with interrupting - LOL I think she can not. that first month of this bet - well the duration of this bet she didn't believe in me and didn't feel I can do it. until she saw for herself the results, then she started interfering with my exercise routine. she would rather me bigger than slimmer and more attractive. I understand her reason, but it sure doesn't help towards my fake goal. WHY DO I SET DEADLINES - LOL end of the month is coming fast!! and I ain't lose'n any weight fast enough! starting from 254 Duration December 16 to December 22COME ON SON! GET YOUR HEAD IN THE GAME ZAIRE!! LOL just can't coach - not feel'n it! this week we had a lunch get together at work. we had to pay for the catering from a place that (I alone seems like) everybody in the office just raves. ok so they are expecting a great meal. me - I am expecting an ok meal nothing of greatness. food arrives and I choose some things I like. I normally don't eat what the rest of the office likes. I though I was being the good guy that I am by waiting for more people to show up before getting seconds. the meatballs did taste pretty good! but the other guys (as men do) didn't care and was going for seconds and thirds before everyone arrived. after lunch I helped with cleanup and took a soda home. BUT there was some turkey left over and plenty of rolls. SOOO...yea I was responsible for the room. and went back to make sure the trash was in the cans provided and ended up taking turkey slices out of the gravy - for one - YUM!! then went back down to "blow out" the burners keeping the food warm. and ended up splitting a roll and adding turkey into it! dipping into the gravy for two. and for three I was at work until 10PM prepping for a town hall meeting I was hosting the next day. so I went back and just brought up a plate with 3 rolls with gravy and turkey and soda. which happened to be dinner this night. for three! so I lost focus and control - plus all this food didn't get out my body for a few days - plus I didn't exercise everyday as I should - plus still not drinking enough water like I used to. when I got home jumped on the scale with clothes on 262 weight! I felt so bad seeing that number - hoping to get me back on track. cause I'm losing this bet again! I know I'm not trying hard enough - I don't care to be 240 pounds. also this week I told two co-workers I don't win bets. hell I don't win fixed bets! I had a bet for 2 lunches with a co-worker once. it was a fixed bet in my favor!! I still lost because I forgot I made a last minute change. after that I told myself no more betting at work!! oh well next week is Christmas week and GF is cooking a feast - my parents want to take us out to dinner. We may also go to GF family for dinner at their place. then I remembered the colon cleaner pills I have. plus I'm off work two days and should be exercising more - but that is if I can get my FN head in this bet!! doubtful - but at least I'm thinking - just not concentrating still at 254 pounds fortunately not more

Sometimes the best a person can do is stay the same weight. This is the worst time of the year trying to reduce eating and increase exercise. Just wait until January. These will be fun activities in the doldrum days of January, February and March. I don't know what your colon cleanse pills are but they probably aren't good for you. I use senna and prune from Puritan Pride. Very gentle and use only as needed. Survival guide to loads of eating. Take tiny bites and chew at least 21 times. Eat fruit first like grapefruit then protein no carbs. Add a salad with very light dressing - lemon juice or light vinegarette. This bet will end but the project won't. To be successful, decrease calories by 200 a day and increase exercise by 200 calories a day. If you do 250/250, at the end of one week 7 x 500 = 3500 calories or one pound. It's doable. One pound reduced per week for one year is 52 lbs. The goal to keep in mind is the daily goal of 250/250. This is a life style change. Those GF interruptions are worth some calorie expenditure but I don't know what.

Good news TL Star! just got back from a local Taylor who said they can take in my jeans. I gave them one of the 2 pair. GF suggested to have them or try to have them tailored to fit before I give them away. I told her I didn't know that was an option. so next week we'll see how they turn out. if good them I'll do the second pair and have them taken in.

BUT I went to Burlington Coat Factory and got 2 Nautica shirts, 2 Nautica T-Shirts, and 1 pair of black dress pants and then went to a liquor store to spend the last $4 on the card!! NICE!! also I am now a 42 waist size!! so sweet!! ;D

I'm 100% distracted! I only care about one thing and it's not this bet to lose 20 pounds. the bet has been put on the back burner. I had a thought to contact my acquaintance I have the initial bet with. tell her new bet for 3 months - $1,000 on the line! but instead of 243 a goal of 235! though I'm sure (98% sure) she will not take the bet. I mean really it's no issue on her part - what is the problem taking the bet? she has already expressed she doesn't want the $700 she kept. January to March 31st 2013 would be the new bet duration. I've noticed I can maintain my weight in the 250 to 260 range. so go low. go lower than 240 to 235. Then gain weight and maintain in the 240 to 250 range or better 235 to 245. I think if I get to 250 AGAIN - then I'll be right back where I started! so I'm ending this week on the up side 258 pounds!

Duration December 30 to January 5th 2013Done! no concentration! sticking with 250 to 260 range! My distractions were intense this week and I pretty much ate comfort food all week. Don't see a quick end with my distractions and trying to keep this bet is adding to stressful situations going on. had a thought of joining a fitness place I see going to work. it's VERY small. since I had the thought of betting $1,000 - I could join until I spend $1,000 then stop? since I'm not willing to change what I eat. but willing to continue to exercise. ehh I'll see. acquaintance contacted me to say Happy New Year and she is thinking of a way to give back the $700. gee thanks? ending this at 255 deuces

I beg you to NOT make another bet. You can spend your bucks more wisely. The distraction of the holidays is over. Here are some ideas: Some peeps don't like this idea of taking a pill. Green Coffee Bean Extract caused the test group on Dr. Oz to lose 1 lb. per week by not changing anything. They did a blind test with selected audience members. Raspberry Ketone will also help with weight loss. Garcinia Camboga is another but it decreases appetite. It has additional health benefits. --------------- If you join a gym, make sure you use a trainer to show you how to use the equipment. The trainers are not free but can save you from severe soreness to preventing an injury. FIRST, I would suggest you check out www.crossfit.com. It is free, on the internet and directed by a real pro. There is a forum to post your results. There are videos to show you how. Bob the trainer on the Biggest Loser uses it. Stop beating yourself up, please.

Changes that helped me lose and keep off 20 pounds, 202 to 182. I am a six foot man who is 38.
Finding out I have high blood pressure and borderline high cholesterol, in conjunction with a health scare. That straightened me up first of all and I don't want to be on medicines forever.
Changed diet to mostly plant based, as well as almonds, yogurt, egg whites etc. I also eat tuna or salmon in moderation. No other meats, dairy or processed food.
Track the calories and saturated fat. I use my fitness pal
Only alcohol is a glass of red wine in the evening every day.
Cut out all sodas, even diet. Just water and decaf coffee.
Exercise 5 days a week, no if ands or buts. Even if I have to do it in the hotel room when traveling.
Stick to that and I guarantee you will have the fat melting off you forever.

They did a blind test with selected audience members. Raspberry Ketone will also help with weight loss. --------------------- I'm a nurse and I don't take anything Dr Oz says seriously. He's a fearmonger of the first order (You lip gloss will kill you!) and promotes a new "miracle weight" pill, postion, extract or juice every week. Miracles are pretty rare events — except on television's Dr. Oz Show, where they appear with astonishing frequency. Oz doesn't claim to raise the dead or part the Red Sea, but he does raise people's hopes of parting with their flab. And he's certainly not shy about flinging the word "miracle" about. But it seems miracles fade as quickly as they appear when it comes to weight loss. Raspberry ketones, acai berries and African mango, once hyped as amazing "fat busters," have already given way to newer wonders. ** The study involved only eight men and eight women, which amounts to a statistically weak sample. Diet was self-reported, a notoriously unreliable method. The subjects were not really blinded, since the high-dose regimen involved three pills, the lower dose only two. A perusal of the results also shows some curious features. For example, in the group that took the placebo for the first six weeks, there was an eight-kilogram weight loss during the placebo and washout phase, but almost no further loss during the high-dose and low-dose phases. By the time, though, that critics reacted to Oz's glowing account, overweight people were already panting their way to the health food store to pick up some green coffee bean extract that might or might not contain the amount of chlorogenic acid declared on the label. As for Dr. Oz, he had already moved on to his next "revolutionary" product, Garcinia cambogia, unabashedly describing it as the "Holy Grail" of weight loss. Read more: www.montrealgazette.com/health/Schwarcz+could+higher+threshold+miracles/7703083/story.html#ixzz2JCDqxmh3I would take anything Dr Oz says with a massive amount of salt.

If you want the real "straight dope" on everything from weight loss to BPA in plastics to arsenic in juice to homeopathy, this is your go-to guy. Dr Joe Schwarcz is the head of McGill University's Department of Science. He really knows his stuff and isn't paid to hawk miracle cures. www.chemicallyspeaking.com/

Okay. I have seen what Raspberry Ketone can do without all the studies. I human guinie pig myself. All I want for Z is the very best. A struggling person can use HOPE. And support. I am watching a miracle unfold for a woman at my fitness center with diet and exercise.

HEARTEMIST!! THANK YOU!! copy and paste from bata-board Hello Wish Bone to get to this pic took 2 months and the bet was to 243 by the time I did get to 244 I was eating same foods - but at an extremely lower amount - drinking lots of water - exercising everyday minimum of a half hour once per day - taking colon cleaning pills to push further loss I was stuck at - face and stomach slimmed down - but also angry far to often for my comfort - weak sometimes to often for my comfort - hungry every single day - and I was going through a bad reconnection with a close friend of mine, emotionally draining at more times for my comfort. Currently I think it's just best that I maintain my weight between 250 and 260. at the time of the bet I thought maintain between 240 and 250. I think that would be better BUT getting back there is going to be a serious challenge that I am no longer interested in.

I agree stick to that and the fat will melt away. but I didn't have a life scare. I did try the leaf change in diet for a few weeks and was weak and low energy. this loose 20 pounds is not taken seriously for me any more basically. I just don't want to go as high or get back into over 260 which is so much more manageable and I've been doing great actually the lowest has been 252 and high of 258

HEARTEMIST - Thanks again I do think of your support often no - no more place my bets with anyone Although - LOL Acquaintance has contacted me recently 2013 and mentioned she is thinking of a way for me to "win" back my money $700. I was like no need to and I thought you spent it? she said she still has it and wants to motivate me once again to loose the weight. I said oh - ok. but currently have been overwhelmed with thoughts of sadness over a friendship. I've thought of trying to refocus my thoughts into loosing the weight to 240 - but I will be so angry I'm sure of that! anger is NOT me - LOL I rather continue faking all is just fine, eat what I want just small portions, and be sad instead of being sad, angry, hungry, and all these other emotions to get back into that low 240 range.

Thanks for the photo. I think you made it. Every scale weighs differently. I think the woman thought so, too; or she wouldn't be trying to get your $700 back to you. What is the new proposal?
For now, you are at the HALT. Hungry, angry, lonely, tired. I hear you and get the state but can only ask you to stick with it. The best way to cope is through expression of those emotions by a journal or talking to the volleyball.
It sounds like you are trying to decide what weight you feel the best and have the most energy and emotional calmness. That is a nice balance and an okay place to be.
I have accepted for myself to try to maintain a nice range and stay with the exercise. The only pressure I put on is from myself.
Best wishes and have a great week.

ZaireinHD, it isn't about losing weight as much as a lifestyle change. You have to do it for more than just losing weight. I have to keep my weight down because of my back, and knee problems. I want to feel better, and be free to have a little fun. So, I choose to try and eat healthy. No ice cream in this place. No candy, cookies, cake. If I have them here, I will one day binge. I beiieve you can do it. I am doing it. I want to love me, and be happy. So, the 6 snacks a morning peeps at work are so jealous.

Heartemist your support is very comforting while going through these turbulent emotional times. Also work has become ....complicated so I'm not exactly able to post like before ....rather don't feel comfortable posting as much - LOL but to keep in between my current range, doesn't even include exercising! or I can stay within range without exercising. HOWEVER - I am still exercising, just not 6 days per week HALT! - PUMP YOUR BREAKS DUDE!!! LOL Deal - and done Acquaintance said something like give her a bi-weekly weight amount and she'll call me to see if I met that amount / number. or that's how I understand what she said? but that's not gonna work cause that means she would have to pay attention to me - LOL I did exercise yesterday (Saturday) - I do have plans and actually want to exercise more often or get back to exercising 6 days per week. I purchased these new ear buds and they sound so great!! I need music 98% of the time while exercising to pass the time - the other 2% is thinking about work or missing my best friend I had or watching the TV. I only have excuses why I didn't exercise today (Sunday) but Monday is a new day right? - LOL Thanks again - your support is thought of very often as actually has become part of my motivation to keep going and stay focused.

You are welcome. I am a good cheer leader for better health.
I found a new way to stuff myself with vegetables. Pico de Gallo with some perks of adding apple, yellow pepper and leeks. The rest of the ingredients are about 3 cups chopped tomatoes, drained and rinsed canned black beans, drained can of corn, pepperocini (or pepper of your choice). Cilantro and a touch of oregano The dressing is 2 tablespoons each lime juice, vinegar and sugar. Mix it all together and chill. More lime juice can be used for stronger taste.
I have used it as a dip for tortilla chips, as a salad and mixed in with a chicken salad. ---------- Work and complicated are synonyms.
Best wishes for the best outcomes.

Hello Heartemist I got some bad news and some good news. it appears that I have seriously pissed off some members here and being banned is coming up for me unfortunately. also I missed a day of work last week from beating myself up and feeling pretty down. Only got out of bed to make breakfast, went back to sleep, made lunch and went back to sleep. Then got back up just in time to cook dinner for GF and I. Maybe I was just tired that day? well the good news is afterwards I decided to get focused and loose the 20 pounds again. I think of your support very often, as really no one else is supportive like you have been here or in real life. I've started at weight of 257. so just like out of the blue I just started exercising everyday 6 days a week - I've decided to make sure I do that again. I also prefer the eat once per day instead of the eat small all day. both methods worked, but once per day is better controlled for me to accomplish. back to bad news, is it doesn't matter. the exercising 6 days per week. I can get away with exercising 3 days per week. but have to stick close to eating once per day - which is usually dinner because of my GF. Also I would like to give you update often to keep myself on track and keep you posted, but as said I've pissed off specific members here so I'm not too sure if I'm allowed to continue to post personal information as I don't mind doing. back to good news is I do realize their there will be a benefit to loosing the weight again. and once there I do realize it will have to be a lifestyle change to keep the weight off. and stay in a 240 to 249 range. I must admit I have NOT seen 260 anything!! also once I do get to 243, I'll send a picture over to my acquaintance and maybe she will agree I met my goal and give back the $700? so $700 is kinda my motivation again.

Zaire, you are not about to be banned, so please just stop saying that. Frankly, you're over-dramatizing. Also, people often share information when dieting. It's useful for incentive. That kind of information is not what's meant by personal information in the sense in which it's been used. People are welcome to share whatever personal information they're comfortable sharing. Thing is, when you do so you're going to have to expect people to comment on the information you've shared. Those comments may not always be to your liking. Trouble ensues when you start name-calling aimed at those whose comments don't meet your expectations. Let's see this as it really is. Share what you like, but be ready to take what comes at you if you do. That's reality.

Hello Heartemist I'm thinking of putting a time frame as a goal date to meet. Afraid to do that because I have always missed that date. But then if I do not put a date - then the goal can take forever? Then what if I set a date too far off? like 6 months to loose 20 pounds? that is way too long! that's summer time - LOL So it's February now, March, April, May. May 18th? May 18th to loose 20 pounds. and instead of having to show myself daily or weekly improvement, show monthly improvement? Hmmm.....bi-weekly improvement. this way I will not have to use force and can be a bit more calm. my x-best friend said to stop drinking the ensure! so now I'm not sure what to replace it with? I think having a shake twice per day helped. well the important thing is I'll figure it out and try to stay focused.

Exactly, weltz. After some critical surgery I'd lost a lot of weight and needed to gain that weight back quickly in order for them to do the next surgery. The Dr's./Hospital put me on Ensure/Boost as a meal supplement - not a meal replacement - because I had to pack that weight back on as quickly as possible.

We give ensure to our elderly patients who are off their food. It's high in calories and there's no reason for a healthy adult to be drinking it, especially an adult who wants to lose weight. I think it would behoove Zaire to study nutrition a bit more, rather than relying on things that explosively clean you out and high-calorie supplements.

Regularly taking laxatives to try and "drop a few pounds" quickly is also very unhealthy - and dangerous. And if it's done before a weigh-in in hopes of the scale reading a lower number, that's also counter-productive and the only one you're fooling is yourself.

Hello Grits lifestyle change - agreed - and NOT ready for which is why it will not stick - LOL well the weight does stick to my belly! but once I figure out the lifestyle change - I'll be better, much better off.

The short of it is reduce calories 200 and increase activity to burn 200 calories. Breakfast 300-400 calories, lunch 300-400 calories and evening meal about 500 calories. Mustard and vegetables are free foods to eat as much as you like. The quick cuts are replace butter with spices like Spike or nothing. Stop sugar intake in drinks and zero candy. Increase vegetables with one cup AT THE BEGINNING OF YOUR MEAL. Eat the food you love the most the last part of your meal. Meal replacement shakes have their place BUT look at the calorie count. What real food can you eat for the amount of calories. Special K has a meal replacment shake. I don't know the calories but my DD is using them. Even small steps are progress. The reasonable goals are to get stable in your calorie counts so that good choices are easy. The exercise program is as regular as brushing your teeth. The better thinking is a one meal over indulgence or one skipped workout means a quick return to the reasonable goals. Picking out some goals like decrease 5 lbs. and you get a reward of a box of girl scout cookies. That would be my choice.
