Totally NAG, but absolutely hilarious!!! This link was on a different thread - damnyouautocorrect.com. I've completely embarrassed myself at work and cried my makeup off because I've been laughing so hard. Oh alpha, you always find the best websites!!! I'm four posts in and I'm already hooked. Thank you! dancinmama - you have a PM from me.

Went to Publix yesterday. Spent: $85 Total Savings $38.75 Only used $10 worth of coupons. Nothing compared to some of your savings! I noticed I wasn't taking full advantage of BOGO's. For example, last night I bought mustard BOGO and only used one coupon. I could of used two Q's because I bought 2 mustards all be it the 2nd one was free. Lesson Learned! My Gillette Razor refills were $14 including the $2Q. Darn Razors! I have to buy Diapers soon. Looks like that is going to be $18. Im spending about .25 per diaper. Really would like to spend more like .10 per. Anyway, I have budgeted $600 for food in February. I would be VERY HAPPY if I could meet that goal. jkscott Great job at Publix. What was your monthly budget in previous months? It is better to start small, saving with coupons & using that to stockpile some of the better bogo's each week. Keep doing this and lowering budget each month by say $50 until at a level that you can maintain. Do not try to cut back 100's on 1st month or stockpile every item on sale. You will get frustrated & end up spending more than you budget would allow. My budget for all consumables for 3 adults, 2 children and 1 kitty is $500. I usually stay well within that but only after many years of practice and I probably could get it down further (did at one time when q's, sales) were better. Look for deals at CVS & WAGS for diapers (especially CVS) or even RA with the previous senarios. I don't have RA near me but when I did, I hit the diaper sales with a vengence. I too shop at Publix and am happy to answer any questions you may have.

North Central Ohio has been getting sleet since about 4:00 PM. I work in a nursing home, so we never close. Actually, I usually have to provide taxi service, since I have 4WD. I don't mind...the residents need help no matter what the weather is like. Dancin: does Wal-Mart have the other Ronzoni versions for about the same price? I don't think the garden variety is stocked in the midwest, and I don't go into WM unless I have to!

Holy cow, I can't believe all the snow stories I'm hearing. We don't get much snow here in the Seattle area - mostly a little drizzle. I felt guilty for enjoying the beautiful sunny day we had here today.
All of you in the cold and ice: stay safe and warm inside! Eat from your stockpiles and don't go out if you don't have to.

No worry about going out because that won't be happening. It's blowing so hard here after all the freezing rain and now we're getting more snow. School was cancelled already for tomorrow and DH got a call that his place will not be open tomorrow. I don't ever remember that happening but it'll be nice having him home. For those of you who have to go out, please be careful.

GRRRR........ I keep losing the internet but is better then losing power I'm keeping a candle lit for when we lose power at least we have a little bit of light to get everything going. Have family coming over when they lose power since we have gas stove and a propane heater, just wish they would come over BEFORE they lose power, so they don't have to go out in this crap. My youngest baked some cookies LOL he said so we have more to eat . Take care everybody and be safe.............

Do you use the Gillette Fusion razors? If you do, you can get your cartridges for a lot cheaper. Those razors go on sale at the major drug chains all the time (WITH A REWARD). Many of us combine the sale, a coupon, and the rewards to get the handle and two refill cartridges for free or around $.99 before tax. Now, yes, it is wasteful in terms of packaging; but I make sure to put the packaging and extra handles in our recycling bin. All in all, it is a lot cheaper than buying the refill cartridges. HTH Thanks Dancin! Im not going anywhere, this is a really nice community with people trying to help each other save! About the Razors, WOW! If I can get them for .99 before tax I would be saving about $15/mo. I have to buy my refills every 3-4 weeks so it would literally put hundreds of dollars in my pocket! Im going to have to keep my eye out for the next deal.

jk - I was going to post about what dancin talked about with the razors. This week WAGS is having a sale on razors. I was going to get the Gillette Fusion Proglide for DH. It's $9.99. You get $4.00 in RR and there is a Q in sunday's paper for $4 making it $1.99 OOP. I'm glad you had a good shopping trip at Publix! You are my Publix shopping friend Thank you! So you buy a new razor every time? I have been replacing the cartridges but whatever is cheaper I am game!

Just with sales and coupons you saved 31% on this trip! Even $10 in coupons is still $10 you didn't spend. But you can do much better and you'll get there. The Gilette Fusion razors are on sale at Rite Aid this week if you have that store and all the razors (if you don't mind trying other brands) are $1 or free all the time. The idea is to stock up when your favorite things are the cheapest and then you won't run out and have to buy them for $14. You'll have to ask the other ladies about diapers but $18 sounds kind of high to me. As I recall it's just the three of you, right? Stick with us and you can take that $600 budget way, way down. Stay safe and warm everybody!! Unfortunately no Rite Aid in S Florida. If I can get my food budget under $600 per month..I will be ;D

HOUND ALERT: I'm looking for $2/1 Dove deodorant coupons and Ragu coupons from the 1/30 coupons. RA is having a great deal starting 2/13. I saw this on the WUC site: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you have those $2/1 Dove coupons don't be so quick to use them. I just seen the 2/13-2/19 ad and they are 2/$4. You get $2+ups wyb 2. Hold onto those Ragu too *wink wink* 2/$3, Get $1+up wyb 2 My county was nearly out of the "good" coupon inserts Sunday. DBF and I went to 5 gas stations before we could find one....and there were only TWO papers left in that box! I should have gotten up earlier.

EDIT: THIS IS A LIMIT OF ONE PER CARD!!Next week, they will also be on sale at WAGs. You cannot use the RR to buy another package and then get another RR - definitely not a stock up deal. $9.99 - 4.00 - 4.00 RR 1.99 + tax Geez, I remember when these were $8.99 and we had $5 coupons and they were giving a $9RR for a huge MM!!

jkscott.
I really think you will get your budget under $600 a month. The small savings will soon start to add together.
I started a small thread on this board so if you want to, you can post your January oop (out of pocket) spending and any coupon savings aswell.
The main reason was i had a habit of keeping old receipts so i could see how well i was doing. I was creating a mess in my computer area so now i add them to a spread sheet and then toss them. Just don't toss the UP's or Ecb's lol.

[/quote] dancinmama It took forever, but I finally found it....on the very back cover in the upper right hand side....Dove, Speedstick or Degree. It must be deodorant week that week at Rite Aid since there are also deals on Arrid, Arm & Hammer, Dri Idea and Right Guard. LOL Are they making sure no one will stink on Valentine's DaY?

Shot out our back door towards the back garage door - DH got the 4wheeler stuck out there so he had to use the small snowblower to clean out in front of the garage so he could pull his car out & then drive the 4wheeler out the front garage door instead.

shelly: thanks for the Dove deodorant tip at Rite Aid. I was going to try a deal at CVS but now I think I'll wait for the better deal. Snow is coming down but at least it's not pinging like it was last night. DH's work cancelled for the first time that I can remember. He'll be digging us out later but there's nowhere we'll be going. It feels good to be home and safe.

Thanks to all who answered my question about using ups on mulitple cards. I am going to try this today.
Frugalsuz: You have a pm from me.
Looks like a good part of the country is being affected by this storm. I live about an hour from New Orleans and we are expecting freezing rain/sleet most of the day tomorrow and then snow on Friday. Hopefully we will get a few days off because people in Louisiana CAN"T HANDLE THIS WEATHER!! I'm expecting them to make an announcement to call off school and close all the government offices for tomorrow and Friday. It will be interesting.

Everything here is covered in ice - except the roads. Road crews did a wonderful job overnight getting everything cleared off! Temps are supposed to plummet today and snow is coming. Should be a "fun" ride home this afternoon. Luckily I only work till 3, so I beat the mad rush. Take care everyone. I was able to stop at RA yesterday, got 2 Jif ($1.99 each - $1 VV on 2) and 1 electrosol ($3.99 - $3 q and $1 vv) got back 2 - $1 UPs. I'll stop again because I have more q's for the electrosol and Jif - but I'll probably be getting a rain check. Which is alright.

mawmaw: fortunately, the + ups seem to work with any card. Hounds who use Prilosec can get it free at RA this week with a combo of +ups, the $8/2 Q, and the $25 rebate. I've been stocking up for my parents, but I'm running out of addresses...last time I used my MIL's address, she forgot I was getting a rebate and threw it away! Thanks for the head's up on this herekittykitty! I'm always looking for ways to turn rewards (UP's, EB's, RR's) into cold hard cash. Here's the deal info on this one: Prilosec OTC 42ct - $28.99 - $26.09 (with 10% discount) or $23.19 (with 20% discount), get $7 +UP Buy 2 so $52.18 or $46.38 - $8/2 coupon (1/30 P&G) - two $7 UP's - $25 rebate = $2.98 total cost or $0.62 profit depending on your discount Here's the rebate form: www.prilosecotc.com/en_US/consumer/PromotionsDiscounts/Documents/Rebate_Form.pdfFYI Prilosec is a P&G company and they're awesome about rebates! I've never had a problem using tons of rewards & coupons to get my OOP really low and still getting the rebate check as expected. HOWEVER, someone on Slick Deals posted this fantastic tip and its brilliant! Whenever you're doing a rebate like this and you're concerned about your OOP being too low, add a gift card into your transaction. So if you're buying $25 worth of rebate stuff and paying with $25 in rewards, throw in a $25 gift card so your total on the receipt is still $25. Smart huh?

I wish I could take credit, but I found it on an EE thread.
I love it because I run into issues with predictive text all the time. Once, I was trying to tell my DH that I was going to be home late because I was going to the chiropractor. I was abbreviating it as chiro, and it kept changing to chimp. I sent it three times before I realized. DH kept sending me WTF and "have fun at the zoo" responses.
I should say thank you to you because I usually find the funny sites through the links on your blog.

LOVE IT! These sites are addicting, you find one and then click on the links to their other sites and just can't stop!

The cashier at Rite Aid messed me up this morning. She spread out all my coupons and was matching them to the products as she rung them up and somehow I gave her my $16 UP, but forgot about the other $8 worth in my wallet. I ended up paying $20 OOP. I'll stick with the store by my house from now on, with the 18 year old cashier who puts everything through. I did get $14 UPs & $8 SCR out of it though, plus still have $8 UPs in my wallet. So I'm still ahead, just annoyed. And I didn't have power at home, so I'm out of sorts this morning. But I'm still going to blame the cashier for being OCD with the scanning.
