Am I terrible that I played hookey today to go to a job interview? The good news is, in a few weeks I will have the job that I want and not just a paycheck. ooty: Did you get the job? That's AWESOME!! What will you be doing? When I submitted my resume to a glass company here, I got a call from the owner the next day. It is not everyday you get someone off the street who knows about glass and commercial storefront and hardware. He was very interested back in Nov, but had no openings....but he knows he would like to hire me. We have spoke on the phone a few times, but could never seem to meet since my hours are same as his. Last time we talked was 2 weeks ago and I am tired of "tele-hell" so I took the day off and just showed up. I asked receptionist to ask if he a few mins, if he was busy, no problem. He came right out and we talked about 10 mins. The problem is, this time of year they are slow, people going home early and taking extra days off. Can't justify me on the payroll just yet. But when the weather breaks and it starts staying in the 40's at least, they will get back to normal. Then he can hire me.....I am to call him in 2-3 weeks. I think he wants me to be a commercial estimator. I am hoping that comes with a nice pay raise.

Way to go! I'm happy for you Ooty! Thanks LB and Dancin! But...Shhhhh...It's a secret on Facebook as I have added a few friends from my current job. No prob; I only have a Facebook account so that I can "LIKE" companies and get coupons. It isn't even in my real name. ha ha ha

P&G $110 COUPON BOOKLET GIVEAWAY ON FACEBOOK ALERTRemember all those P&G receipts that we gathered together so that we could fill out that form and send it in to get the $110 coupon booklet? Apparently, P&G has an abundance of them and is now giving them away on Facebook. I was able to score two more. It will be interesting to see if they recognize my address from the one I mailed in for and send me another. I'm warning you though, that they are a PITA to get through Facebook. Some people have been on there for hours and have still not been able to get it. I googled Proctor & Gamble on Facebook and FINALLY got mine. I got one for me and one in DH's name while I was logged on FB in my name. I just entered his email addy. Went through slick as snot..... ;D Me too!! I JUST got the one that I sent in for (in DH's name) this last weekend. It will be interesting to see if I get the Facebook one too.

Hound Alert!
I could use 1 of the $3/1 Viactiv coupons from the 1-16-11 SS.
I'm also looking for 2 of the $2/1 Dove Deodorant coupons from the 1-30-11 RP.
Thanks so much for helping if you can! Please let me know what coupons you'd like to trade for. Just PM me.

RA 2/20 AD: FREE JOHNSON & JOHNSON COTTON SWABS (500 COUNT):CALL: 1-800-526-3967 (J&J Customer Service) and ask for coupons for cotton swabs (make sure that you don't call them Q-Tips cuz that's another company ). They will send you (2) $1/1 ANY Johnson & Johnson product coupons. I tried to sweet talk the CS gal into sending me (4), but it was a no-go. It is RARE to be able to get these for FREE. The last time I bought "cotton swabs" (actually it was Q-Tips), I paid $.79 plus tax in OOP at Longs Drugs and had to send away for a rebate to get them at that price. This deal will give you 1000 swabs for FREE. They will be priced at $2.99 and give a $2UP for each package purchased, so FREE after $1/1 Home Mailer. They DO NOT count toward any of the other RA programs (Buy & Save or Heart Healthy), but even at $.99 each (without coupon), I think this is a good stockpile price especially for anyone who uses them regularly and is swimming in UPs. Thanks dancinmama! I just called for my coupons....and also got the P&G coupon books from Facebook for me and Vince. Good thing since I didn't have enough receipts to send for them and the rebates.

Congrats Ooty! Yes, I have played hookey to go to job interview.
I actually went on one last week on my lunch hour. It was a former co-worker who is starting with new company as VP and needs a right hand. It is right up my alley and in a field that I love and would be a great salary increase with soooo much potential for growth. I have not heard back yet but am secretly hoping it is not until later in the week as I will get my 2 weeks vacation starting next week and if I get the job and wait until after then to turn in notice they will have to pay me for that time.
Question about rebates When you do them to someone else's address, do you use your name or theirs? How do you work it out. Please share.

Lbmoore, they are supposed to be the 16 oz ones. I'm good for Qs right now. I don't know if I have your address, though. Is it on the list? My mailing address is on the list, thanks so much! I really appreciate it.

Question about rebates When you do them to someone else's address, do you use your name or theirs? How do you work it out. Please share. When I mail away for rebates, I most always do DH's name at our addie, DS's name at sis's addie (he lived with them for 6 months for school stability while we were relocating), and my name at my mom's addie. Sometimes I'll do my mom's name at her addie, but she knows what is mine and what is hers so she'll deposit and then write me a check. I NEVER use the same name at more than one address, but then my last name is very uncommon. Having a name like "Smith" sure would come in handy when doing rebates.

lbmoore, I have 10 Ken's Q cut out and addressed and ready to go. Thanks for the offer in return. I may need help later, but right now I'm doing okay. redwagon, I have 4 of the $6 and 4 of the $4 Zyrtec Qs addressed and ready to mail. I'm just glad I can help. Now if only I could figure out where I left 4 of the $1/1 Kraft singles Qs, I would be set. I put them somewhere very safe, even safe from me.

AT CVS: There are these huge Valentine's Day cards that look like posters. They are only $3.99, the price of a regular puny card.
I bought 2 (one for DH and one for DD) and paid with my EB's.
Also there are CRT'S that are for $2.00 off of any Excedrin Migrane. I bought the $1.99 pack with the 8 tablet box attached. I had them price modify the coupon down one cent to $1.99.

I went back to Rite Aid and bought the Minidrops with the coupon $1.00 off. I paid with UPs bucks.
I will turn it in for an SCR check this month.
I also bought 1 box of Naturals Clairol $2.24 (75%markdown). 2 boxes of Perfect Hairdye $2.99. I used 3 coupons: -$3.00, -$3.00, -$2.00.
The balance was 24 cents plus tax for the 3 boxes. Drat. I had to pay cash.

HOUND ALERT: If anyone has any of the $1/1 Buitoni Pasta or sauce from the 1/2/11 Smart Source that they won't be using, I would LOVE to have them. DH and I eat this pasta about once a week, and these Q's really come in handy. frugalnurse: I have six of those coupons I won't use, and I'd be happy to send them to you. PM me your address and I will get them off to you.

But if they do, then its a MM.

did pretty good at CVS yesterday. quaker instant oatmeal x4 = 10 trident vitality = 0.99 subtotal 10.99 less 4.00 (1/1 quaker - thanks dancin & mawmaw!!) used 5 EB total 1.99+0.04 tax (on part of gum price) = paid 2.03 received $5.99 EBs (4 EB quaker, 1 EB green bag tag, 0.99 EB gum). True cost to me $1.04. Since the shelf price of the oatmeal is twice the sale price & the gum is 0.30 higher, the value of these 5 items is 21.25 & i paid $1 (0.04 is tax so not included). that means this transaction i saved 95% off the store price! sorry, but wally world's "low prices, always" just can't beat 0.25/each for brand name oatmeal!! i might be able to get the oatmeal for less than 0.25/each down the road but i'm ok with stocking it at that price. the expiration on it is dec 2011 & it'll be gone well before then. ;D

thanks suziq for encouraging people to keep posting their deals.
a HUGE THANK YOU to dancinmama, deb, murpath & mawmaw! your envies last week helped me do my 2 good trips at WAGS & CVS. i still have 4 oatmeal q's that i will use at CVS today if i can find a store with 4 boxes of maple & brown sugar oatmeal. i'll also check my last receipt for my other card to see how many bag tag scans i need to help get me to the 0.25/each like the last transaction.
coupon question - i noticed that the $1 skippy q from the safeway books starts with a 9, not a 5, is that why they beep & don't scan?

I have a question... my mother thinks I have lost it... I keep my reusable grocery bags in my car and keep my scan tags on my key chain with my keys- except Safeway (Von's, Dominick's) because it does not have one- so it stays in my wallet. Does anyone else do this? Mom thinks I am going overboard by carrying my bags and as she put it "40,000 keytags" around. If I have my bags, I get my discount (5 cents though it may be) and by having my key tags, I never miss a discount.
