We still have 6 months left in this game DI, so plenty of time to research which one would be best or if we can find any thing better. Even with it's flaws it still shows differences between PORTS and different strategies.

Actually, it was the game that was WAY behind and no after hours trading being done! It finally caught up with the correct price!

Kadee, I've noticed that if you put in a trade at the open( that's after the bell) it could take 15 minutes for it to show until the game catches up. If you put the trade in before the bell it will give you the open price but it still will be that 15 minutes before it post in the game. I've been screwed a few times with what I thought I would get but what the hec, it's free.

Yes ty, I've seen that too & gotten burned. But this was like over an hour after close & it still hadn't updated to the price at closing.
Any way, it's ok now & my order is in!

I know what your going through now. I've been locked out of doing any trades now since yesterday, starting at 2:30 pm. Has cost me at least 500,000 in the game. Still haven't been able to get a trade to go through. Guess I will just have to let it ride. What a bummer. LOL

The game is messed up today. I left 4 or 5 trades earlier...it said they went thru...they didn't!
Now the stupid thing is telling me that my portfolio is empty! I had 2 in there to start with besides the trades I left! And I should have been making $$$ too! This is the 2nd or 3rd time this has happened to me.

I finally got in but the game canceled all of my buys from this morning....and I had gotten them all at that big dip!
So I lost out on some good gains today like some of you others!

I understand DI...not your fault...it's just frustrating from time to time!

I didn't look at the game until around 10am today. And was I surprised....all those canceled buys from yesterday had been filled....but at what price I'm not sure cause I don't keep track of my purchase prices when I do the buys in the game. So....now I have all these stocks in the red!
Do we have a hair pulling smiley???

Well right now I'm 20% above the S@P for the Year on stock appreciation alone. This game has only been running for 2 Quarters now. If you want to close it at the end of this year we can if you guys and dolls want to, then change over after the First of the year. But lets finish this one first one way or another.

With a little window dressing, I might hit 30% by year end. I don't think that will be to bad considering most of the Indexes will be FLAT for the year.

Excellent job Ty...I was up 20% by June, but ended up getting hosed in the downturn from june on. With some windowdressing I may be flat for the year. Oh well, I think I'm well positioned for next year.

tyfighter - That's the way this game goes. IF you can beat the market all the time, that's great. Personally I tend to lag along for a while and then have a big portfolio gain when I least expect it. So far the long term average has been over 15% which is my goal. I've been getting a bit worried with 2 lean years (in terms of investment returns) in a row. With that said the main goal is to do well when the stock gods smile on us, and to preserve capital when they don't. I've underperformed the S&P for 2 years now (although possibly not this year after the last 2 weeks of windowdressing my portfolio is up probably close to 10%). Part of this underperformance was poor timing (which will naturally correct overtime if I'm investing in growing businesses) and part was poor risk management (which is a bigger concern).

Last year was actually quite profitable for the core portfolio, but gains got wiped out by outsized losses in a fraud and a few Chinese RTO stocks.

Beer sometimes you have to take e few risk to get a return, but you have to know what you are doing. That is to do ONE thing right over and over again. Boring but profitable.

Year End Standings. We still have 2 Quarters left and the first 2 have been up and down. We have 12 that are in the Green out of the 17 that are in the Contest. With the major in the green for the year is preety good being the Major Indexes are basicly Flat for the year. Ok AHB, I wont put Read them and Weep this time. LOL
