Constanz22: Am mailing you some mighty dog q's. Did you know there's one on the Target site as well? Don't know if it's a Target q or man q though.
twinmama: Kneading (or pounding) on that dough is good therapy! The loaf looks delish.

I tried printing the one on coupon network but it was out of prints I am SO low on dog food, just been buying a can here and there. My store has a decent sale this week with the $2 off Q's so hope to stock up a bit. Not FREE like I got a couple years ago, but an ok price.

COTTONELLE GDA AT WAGsFor those of you who need TP, there is an unadvertised deal on 12-pks of Cottonelle. It is priced at $5/ea. There is a $1/1 WAGs in-store Q (coupon booklet), there are $1/1 peelies floating around (even reported to be on some of the pkgs. at WAGs), and you will get a $2RR when you buy (2) or a $3RR when you buy (3). That's $2/ea. after coupons/RR. I don't know the square footage, but it seems as though cheap TP is getting harder to come by these days so thought some of you might be interested in checking it out. I'm going to check the sq. ft. and then decide whether or not I want to do the deal. I still have a GC left over from a couple of years ago (shows you how much I've been shopping at WAGs) that I could use to cover OOP if I think it's a good enough deal. I seem to be obsessed with stockpiling TP these days.

Oooooo the pounding was therapeutic lol... I swear, every time I told someone that I made homemade bread, they asked if I used a bread machine and I said no, completely by hand, no mixer and their eyes pop of their head almost, like handmade bread is unheard of

Twinmoma Bread looks really good. Personally, I would NOT want to do such a heavy dough w/o some mechanical help-mixer or food processor. If you keep w/this you might want to watch charity resale stores for a bread machine. I have seen them regularly for CHEAP - $5-$10. I do understand the 'therapy' part.
Safeway does (actually does NOT) do it again. I have 2 items I want at Albertsons and they only price matched one.

marvholly I learned how to make bread from my mom. It's really not hard and the kneading part is what I like most about it! Crazy, I know. But when I make homemade cinnamon rolls, my kids go nuts. Better than cinnabon they tell me. Probably just buttering me up so I'll keep making them.

Hi all! I haven't been shopping much with just getting back from vacation and this week is the first week of school. I haven't posted here very much since then because I literally didn't have anything to say. I know surprising isn't it. Hope everyone is doing well!

COTTONELLE GDA AT WAGs: UPDATEThis is a monthly deal. It has been reported by various people on other sites that $1/1 Cottonelle peelies have been seen at WalMart, Target, and K-Mart that can be combined with the $1/1 in the September booklet. The blue package is very close to meeting the toilet paper principle @ 197.2 sq. ft. per package. I forgot to note whether it was 1-ply or two.

I went to CVS today to see if there were any marked down fans today -- sadly nothing. BUT I did get a nice coupon for a free Essence of Beauty 2oz body spray, which would make a nice stocking stuffer. I'm going to use mine in conjunction with some other freebies as a gift for the games at an upcoming baby shower.
Also, I needed some rice to make dinner tonight. CVS only had white rice for $3.39, I would guestimate probably 8 oz or so. I ran across the parking lot to Family Dollar and found 2lb bags of brown rice for $1.35. I bought two, which will last me a good amount of time. I didn't have a lot of time, but I'm definitely going back to check out prices on some staples for our household!

This has been my week for freebies/cheapies. Picked up the FREE turkey sandwich at Arby on Thur =Dinner w/a salad added. Did the CHEAP pizza buffet at CiCi for lunch Thur. Stopped at a grand opening frozen yogurt place Fri noon. Oh my G-d. GREAT stuff. It’s going to become my go to treat place. Had the lemonade flavor. I used to have a GREAT ice cream place as a kid/young adult. They mad wonderful lemon sherbert. This is the SAME. LOVE it. Only issues are the expense + getting into the place + parking (bank, Subway, Panda Express and another 6+ stores in the strip mall).
Was not able to use the CVS 25% off coupon for my Dad’s stuff because it was on sale B1G150%. Comes to the same thing OOP.

I think we all have to be a little creative these days. Today was my first experience with Dollar Tree coupon acceptance. It went, well, slowly. Although we prefer fresh veggies, we do like Libbys canned (or Aldi Brand). I was sad to see that the Dollar Tree nearest me raised their price from previous .59 per can to .79 per can. But, .54 per can after coupons worked ok. The Aldi that is closest to me is .58 per can. The cashier had to call over a couple of people to figure out how to put coupons through. Then I went to Meijer. Today was one of their days if you use your Meijer credit card, 5% off Grocery, 15% off General Merchandise. I had been looking for a new area rug for our living room. They had one I really liked, but was priced at $100. Today I saw a price reduced on it to $89.99. 15% off took it down to $76.50. Sold! But of course I couldn't leave it at that... There were some coupons (sorry, don't recall what inserts) that kind of fell in line. The main coupon was for one pound of free ground beef if you purchased Wholly Guacamole and King's Hawaiian sandwich rolls. I spotted a Wholly Guacamole marked down to $1.50, used $1.50 coupon (minus 5% (.08) made it free. King's Hawaiian rolls were $2.99, used $1.00 coupon (minus 5% (.15) made it $1.84. Finally the ground beef. $4.63. The "free ground beef" was up to $3.50. 5% off the ground beef was another .90 cents off. Used one Kraft Cat for $2.00, brought all three grocery items down to .32 cents plus tax. Goofy but fun shopping. ETA: I also got fall Mums at $3.50 each 6" pot... (after discount)...I'm going to play in the dirt.

This week I spent $61.00 OOP at Meijers, Kroger and Rite Aid and saved $170.00 or 70%. I have $29.98 in catalinas to use and an increase in $8.00 in UPs. My pantry and freezer are full.

Someone explain to me why buying 2lbs of yeast from Amazon ($8.99) is so much cheaper than paying $3.50 for 4oz at the commissary! How is there that much of a difference in price??I mean I know buying in bulk is generally less expensive but that's nuts! .60/oz difference!

Boy, I can tell it's a slow month for deals when we're only at page 3 almost 1/3 of the way through the month!
That particular CVS that I stopped at did not have any fans, so I'm guessing they were marked down and bought already. I'll just keep looking!

That would be about half price what it would be around here. Is it possible it isn't the regular dry yeast that is sold in the jars and packets in the store? I could be beer yeast or cake yeast. I know cake yeast can be substituted for dry active but it is not exactly the same. I think you have to activate it and it might require more to get the same effect. Any way I hopw it makes great bread for you! ETA I am pretty sure that you can't just cake or active dry yeast into a bread machine or flour either.

No its active dry yeast that I bought off Amazon. But because I am not buying bread any more, it is more cost effective to just buy a large bag of it and put it in an air tight container (gotta research this though) and at $8.99 for 32oz vs $3.50 for just 4oz, plus no tax or shipping, its much cheaper to just buy it online. However, flour is $2.43 for 5/lbs of unbleached flour where Amazon was well over $3. Oh well

Active dry yeast isn't normally sold in a grocery stores in the US. The kind sold in the US normally is called instant rapid rise or bread machine yeast. It doesn't have to be reconstituted and is stronger than Active dry yeast. Active dry yeast is the type that comes in a cake type thing and has to be put in warm water before using. I would imagine that is why the yeast on Amazon is so cheap. It still should be usable. You would just have to make sure you find the directions for use since it has to be bloomed and the amount used is more than regular instant yeast. Enjoy your bread!

If it won't be useable, I will just return it, but thanks Beachbum! I thought the little pouches I was buying was active dry but I looked and its Instant Dry...I won't be using a bread machine so that helps but I will read what it says when I get it.

I know that I heard that some were, but had not heard that it had gone national. I have one really close by. I always go there to buy greeting cards. Most of what they have in terms of food is off brands, but I think they might have a few national brands. I need to call and ask whether they are accepting MCs and take a closer look.

It has gone national as of the end of August. There are several threads on WUC about it, as well as possible match ups. I've been once and was their first coupon transaction. They have to enter all coupons manually, food and non food have to be entered differently, I think they only take 2 IP's per transaction. There seem to be more national brands than you think, but the problem is going to be size restrictions on coupons. They are VERY particular, at my store and most others I've read take a LONG time to completed the transaction because they read EVERY coupon, match coupon to item and check the size is correct. When I went I got soft-soap hand soap, larger refill for .50 ea, free mennan deoderant and cheap .50 Hefty ziplocs.

Just a thought. Maybe instead of making it a monthly thread, we should go back to a single thread until the deals pick up again? Ruby, really NICE job at Meijer! I'm thinking of going back for their Glade custom coupon promotion. I just haven't totally figured out what and how. And, I really could have gone crazy on some of their clearance items. They had some really nice metal with straw insert baskets that could be hung off of a fence for $5.00. I think I looked at them for maybe 15 minutes trying to decide. I decided against it though... On the subject of Dollar Tree coupons, Mashup Mom has some nice suggestions on her blog. ETA: Deranged me's site was saying there was a possible glitch on the following at Wags: "Check this out! Buy three of the 10 ct travel-size Cottonelle wipes and get a $3 RR back! I bought six at 99¢ each (two transactions) and got back two $3 RRs! Note that some of the Walgreens locations sell them for $1.29, which is a total deal-breaker, imo. If you plan to run this deal, make sure you do it before Monday because this $3 RR is only supposed to be attached to the 42 ct packs and I’m pretty darn sure they’ll fix it."
