Dancinmama: Target must have removed the Method q because it's no longer there. Sorry 'bout that. I'll let you know if it comes up again. Thanks for trying. RE CVS Venus deal: My CVS did not have the blue Venus ($7.29) marked as giving the $5 EB. Only the more expensive ones and the EB was limit 1. That's what the tags and their ad says but are you guys still getting a $5 EB for multiple purchases? I got a $10 off $50 purchase CRT today so I'm trying to come up with some scenarios. Also have $15 in EB's to play with. Question:Do you know if I can also use a $4/$15 cosmetic purchase CRT; and $4 off $20 facial care CRT with the $10 off $50 CRT? I also have a $5 off two Almay color products (and 2 $1 man q's) I spoke with the mgr. at the closest CVS and asked when they would be getting the Centrum flavor burst in--they haven't had any for two weeks despite giving the $5 CRTs everyday. He thinks they'll be in tomorrow and said they would honor the expired CRTs. I have a raincheck for 4 at the $6.99 price so would get them for free with the CRTs and $2 man q's. Keep your fingers crossed for me. ;D I'm not a dork!! So sorry that I didn't get to it in time. murphath: As far as I know, the Venus limit glitch is still in effect. I got one of those $10/$50 too and I sure would love it if they'd get the vitamins in as well as more Venus, but I'm not holding my breath. On the other hand, I almost want to NOT USE the $10/$50. If no one uses them, maybe they'll get back to $4/$20 or $5/$25 etc.

"8 x pantene: $32.00 -4 x BOGO (27.96) =4.04 OOP, get back $10 EB, plus they should count for beauty club
Better deal if you can also use 2 x $1/2, but that would be a YMMV situation. "
I have used the $1/2 with the BOGO (1 coupon for every 4 Pantene) and it worked without beeping.

Stopped at my small (no fridge or freezer) Dollar Tree on Mon. They had a LOT more name brand (coupons sometimes available) items. Got a 16 count Efferdent for my Dad FREE. Cashier was a bit slow handling the coupon but nice. This could be because we have often chatted about the clearance deal at the grocery nearby. I have also, now, printed 2 more $1 coupons and will stop again Thur. Hope they still have it as only 3 left Mon. If yes, then he will have 7 weeks of efferdent for just the sales tax.
I lost my Dad’s CVS card and I need buy an item for him that is limit 1. Did it using his phone number. Card is probably in the same place as my backup car key.
I plan to stay in today. Local store has a Wed ONLY special I want to buy so I’ll run out then. Maybe I can get some housework (isn’t that ‘supposed’ to be a 4 letter, banned word?) done.
Sam814 Try calling CS at CVS. I had to recently and mentioned the lack of emails. Rep ‘fixed’ something & I get them now.
Murpath I think cashier training is an issue at almost EVERY store I shop. It is crazy right now w/the new WAG cards/program and Dollar Tree taking coupons. Checking out, even with just a couple items, now takes FOREVER. It is always a problem at Walmart with price matching & coupons.

The Philipo Berrio olive oil is on sale at CVS for $3.99. A slightly larger bottle at Raleys is $9.99! That's a big difference. If they get the vitamins in, I'll be able to get 4 at $6.99. I should have 4/$5 CRTs and 4/$2 man q's. If by some miracle that happens, this is what I will do: Miracle Socks: $9.99 4 Centrum flavor burst: $27.96 1 Philipo Berrio olive oil: $3.99 2 Almay eyeshadow pens $6.29 & $3.15 (BOGO50%) Total: $53.38 + @$4.00 tax Minus: $10/$50 CRT $1 P.Berrio IP 2/$1 Almay man q's (found in CVS) 4/$5 Centrum burst CRTs 4/$2 Centrum burst man q's $1 hoisery CRT $5 EBs Total OOP will be $1.38 + @ $4 tax No EBs back but.... And who said you can't get anything good with q's? The best part is I still have a $10 EB to use on the Venus deal--if my store has 3 of the blue ones. That will give me my original $15 EB's back! Woo Hoo!

INCREASED LIMIT ON THE VENUS/FUSION AT CVS YMMV
There is a thread on WUC dedicated to people reporting whether they're still getting the increased limit or not and the current reports are mixed. You might want to check there before you go out to buy.

I sent (3) emails today to companies in hopes of scoring some higher valued coupons. Kimberly Clark is sending some, but I don't know what their value will be. Bumble Bee is sending some for Snows Clams to my mom (I already got some).
If ya can't be out doing deals, you'd might as well solicit for some good coupons. ;D

Had one Venus BOGO and one $3 Venus MC so after getting some good stuff from the red machine, broke down and did this one Venus deal at CVS yesterday:
Venus Olay $10.99 Venus Olay $10.99
-$4/$12 CRT -$7.99 (Venus BOGO Q) -$3/1 Venus Q -$5.25 25% CVS Q -$1 ECB
Tax $1.26 Total OOP = $2.00(cleared w/GC) ==> $10ECB
Question: I got a $10ECB. Is that because of the DOUBLE Rewards, meaning that I only earned the one $5ECB but it doubled? Or did I just get 2 $5ECBs combined?
NOTE 1: In the spirit of trying to figure out exactly what they levy the tax on....it seems that the tax was calculated on about $15.75 ? So, the machine deducted the $1ECB for a balance of $20.98 and then calculated the 25% discount from that. Then, deducted the CRTs and MCs?
NOTE 2: Got the $5 P&G debit card, I had mailed it on 8/28, I think that was pretty fast turn around for a rebate.

skubikky CVS EB's always "combine" into one EB when the limit is more than one. I almost bought 2 Venus together yesterday when the store I was at didn't have the FAEB Thermacare I needed to be able to roll a $5 EB that was expiring, but I HATE having such large EB's, especially now with the lack of stuff to roll them on. Much harder to roll large EB's. They are ok if you just plan on spending them on something, but rolling them gets difficult.

I suspect that I'll have to pull out some of my rainchecks when it's time to use the $10 ECB. Also, how will the double rewards be given then?

NOTE 2: Got the $5 P&G debit card, I had mailed it on 8/28, I think that was pretty fast turn around for a rebate. Since Connie did the ECB question I will try and tackle the sales tax one. ;D In most states sales tax is calculated before all forms of legal tender but after special discounts not available to everyone. So a sales price would be available to everyone but the 25% off or the $4/$12 crt wouldn't. Man coupons are always treated as a form of legal tender for the purposes of calculating sales tax. So they would start with the sales price and deduct any "special" discounts available only to you, like the % off or $/$$ coupons. Then the amount left is charged sales tax. All legal tender is used to pay that final total with the sales tax. In your case the legal tender is in the form of both money and coupons.

Thanks for the explanation. Might you know anything more regarding the Double Rewards? Not really. I thought they were just caclulated the same way they normally are just doubled. The venus deal does have a higher limit than 1 though. I did a deal with 2 and got one big $10 ECB also. They always combine ECB's in the same transaction for the same item. I think I read the limit on this is 6. Does anyone remember the MM for shaving cream at CVS? I think it was a $4 ECB per can and there were $2 coupns for the cans that cost $2.29 or something? In order to roll them you had to buy more and more cans. I ended up with a $24 ECB from my last transaction. Along with about 40 cans of shaving cream. ;D

Thanks for the explanation. Might you know anything more regarding the Double Rewards? They will be awarded with the quarterly extra buck rewards, which usually aren't very much for most of us, because it is based on "spending" (true OOP). Since I've been couponing, I don't think I've earned more than $1-2 per quarter. It is the quarterly reward that earns "double", not the every day EB deals. So, while nice, not super profitable for most of us.

It used to be that lowest quarterly reward that you could get was $.25 for spending the minimum amount required to even get one which was $12.50. Now you have to spend at least $25 or more in OOP to get any kind of reward, the lowest being $.50. Obviously, with double rewards, you will now earn $1 for having spend $25 in OOP.
The quarterly rewards that you earn are a measurement of the extent that you are shopping for free at CVS. As a couponer, your goal is not not earn any quarterly reward.
The fact that I got $.50 last quarter is a clear indication to me that couponing at CVS is getting more expensive. For years my OOP was rarely more than $.25-$.50 per transaction. That is definitely not the case anymore.

I'm only trying to get coupons from companies where I have rain checks for their product at what I think is a rock bottom price. I started with Bumble Bee to get coupons for the Snows Clams. They are regularly $2.69 (at my CVS), but I have rain checks for $.77 and $.88/can. They sent me (4) $.35 coupons and I assume that they'll send my mom (4) also. If I use my $.77 rain check, I'll pay $3.36/8 cans instead of paying the sale price of $6.16/8 or the regular price of $21.52/8 . In any case, with the (8) coupons, I'll save an additional $2.80 for doing nothing more than writing a couple of emails. I also emailed Kimberly Clark. I have a few rain checks for the Scott Extra Soft for $7.49/ea. with a limit of (3) per rain check. The last coupon to be issued in the inserts seems to have been regional cuz I didn't get it. Although dogmom is sending me some $1/1 (thanks dogmom ), I'm probably going to need more. I am kind of crossing my fingers that maybe the value that Kimberly Clark sends out as a home mailer will be higher than $1. There is one envie on the way from them so I have a couple of days here to see what I get. ;D

I know I don't spend that much so I just figured they rounded up to the min. I did think that with the man coupons counted at legal tender I thought they also counted as what I spent for the quarter. That might make it look like we spend more that we actually do in real cash.

Well, my plans at CVS yesterday were spoiled when they did not have the Centrum flavor burst. Drat and darn it all! I'm keeping those CRTs, though, because the mgr. did say they would honor them. An addtl. disappointment was the lack of miracle socks. Who knew those were so popular??!! I had to scramble a bit so this is what I did:
1 Dr. Scholl's compression socks $11.79 1 Philipo Berio extra virgin olive oil $3.99 2 Almay eye shawdow pens $8.49 & $4.25 1 Fusion Pro-glide $10.99 1 Gilette Mach 3 $12.29
Minus $1 hoisery CRT $1 P.Berio IP $11.99 free Mach 3 wyb Gilette shaving system $4 Pro Glide 2/$1 Almay q's $5 CRT off 2 Almay color cosmetic $4/$12 cosmetic CRT (I didn't think this would go through but he took it and entered it--my luck changed!) $10/$50 CRT $10 EB Total OOP: $4.43 Got $5 EB back
Not the lowest OOP ever but my DH has been "hounding" me for those socks! I had to get something together. So instead of just using the $10 EB and $1 hoisery CRT to get the socks, I got a whole bunch of stuff extra. Love this game. ;D

I've been shopping at CVS for (4) years and I've only gotten a quarterly reward twice: one for $.25 and last quarter for $.50. Other than those two times, I've gotten nada. The only thing that counts toward your reward is your actual OOP (or where I live anyway). If they counted what I spend using MCs, I'd be earning megabucks!! ;D

Remember, the exact same thing happened with the Centrum Pro-Nutrients. That one was more critical, however, because they were free after coupon and CRT AND giving a $10 GC when you bought a certain amount. I think the limit of the deal was 2 or 3. Everyone was scrambling to get them. My manager let me do (3) transactions on a "paid for rain check" so I was able to collect a few GCs on that one.

If you are low on coffee creamer, There is a nice Face book IP for Baileys coffee creamer pint. $1.50 off one. It's a Redplum. It will let you print two if anyone is interested. Current price after coupon: Walmart, around .38 cents per pint, Albertsons, around .50 cents per pint, Meijer, around .48 cents per pint.... ETA: I don't have Safeway pricing.. Although they are in my area, they are one town over from me, in three directions, so, I don't go there that often. I also have started again writing to some manufacturers that I genuinely like their products, but don't see them on sale often or if their product doesn't make good sense. Last year I wrote to Johnson Wax, makers of Glade. Their jar candles weren't burning down very far. That product, is/was a disposable income purchase. They've sent me free product, coupons for free product and coupons for items I didn't even mention in my letter to them. Manufacturers do respond. It certainly bears some looking into.

SAFEWAY J4U SHOPPERS: Here is a trick that I've recently learned about deli clearance. If you have a J4U price on a deli item, the 50% deli sticker will take 50% of the full price off of your J4U price. I got 12 oz. of Oscar Mayer Center Cut Bacon today for FREE!! $7.99 (1) bacon $2.50 (1) Open Nature bread (bought so I could disguise the freebie) 10.49 -4.00 J4U on the bacon -4.00 50% off deli sticker/coupon -1.00 (1) $1/1 ANY Open Nature product $1.49 OOP So "Add" any bacon or deli item that you get on J4U and put it on your shopping list as a "look see item" only to see if it's on clearance. Then take 50% off the normal price and subtract it from your J4U price and that's what you'll pay. A couple of days ago I got a lb. of Hormel Black Label for $.75. And on the news today I heard that there is going to be a bacon shortage because of the drought....not for this hound!! ;D I have over 20 lbs. of Farmer John (sale minus coupon) in the garage freezer and 4.5 lbs. Rite Aid QuestionI've barely shopped RA this year, and I can't remember how UPs work. I want to do the deal for buy $10 revlon, get back $4 UPs, which is limit 2. If I buy 2 products for $15 in one transaction, I will get one $4 UP. If I go back later and buy another $5, do I get the other $4 UP for hitting $20? I guess what I mean is, do things like that track between transactions? I feel like they do, but I could be mixing it up with CVS
