Thought I'd give a quick update. Still no red meat after a month. I have lost 15 lbs so far with no noticeable decrease in strength. Slowly beginning to lean out, I have had to tighten my watches one more notch or they slide off my wrist, belt down to the next loop. Might have to audition for one of those Calvin Klein underwear ads soon.

I personally don't see anything wrong or unhealthy with eating red meat. And, i don't think it is making anyone fat. I think too much carbs and sugar is what is making people fat nowadays.

I don't disagree with you Shooby, lean red meat is one thing, but I think there is typically so much fat in red meat, especially processed meat, that the additional calories really sneak up on you. I live on carbs and sugar, haven't changed that part of my diet, actually have had more candy bars and doughnuts lately, still loosing weight.

Antifreeze also tastes good.[/quote] Did you try some? ------------- Soooo, how much weight have you lost by now? ------------- I have seen never. I never dreamed I would be tired of hamburgers and fried chicken. Right now I am finishing a venison roast. DH is eating pizza and pizza rolls. Go figure.

My goal was to be healthier, not really to loose weight. I stopped after about 15lbs, I have increased my calories in other ways, mainly lean protein and more fruit. My strength is as good as ever, and I'm really leaning out, six pack here I come. Anyway, I'd add some more pictures, but I'm so pale all you see is a bright white glare if I try. I might have to hit the tanner this winter.
It's been fun watching people's reaction when they watch me eat, stating away from anything red. The true test will come at the end of the month when I have a colesteral test. I hope my numbers are lower. I usually fall into the obese sedentary category, even though I'm far from it. Just goes to show its what's on the inside that counts (or will kill you).

I should add that hunting season has started so now I can stock up on venison and pheasant to get me through the next year.
Fwiw, I did meet with a Dr to make sure the weight loss wasn't from something else, it was pretty rapid, but everything checked out fine. It really baca me a matter of calories in, vs calories burned. Less fat = less calories.
