It's not often that articles of this nature leak out past the pro-lep establishment. Restoring a keystone predator may endanger a prey species in a human-altered ecosystem: the return of the snow leopard to Sagarmatha National Park (article here, bold by me, blue by me): Twenty-five years ago, the snow leopard Uncia uncia, an endangered (lies) large cat, was eliminated from what is now Sagarmatha National Park (SNP). Heavy hunting pressure (by the depraved uncia) depleted that area of most medium–large mammals, before it became a park. After three decades of protection, the cessation of hunting and the recovery of wild ungulate populations, snow leopards have recently returned (four individuals). We have documented the effects of the return of the snow leopard on the population of its main wild prey, the Himalayan tahr Hemitragus jemlahicus, a ‘near-threatened’ caprin. Signs of snow leopard presence were recorded and scats were collected along a fixed trail (130 km) to assess the presence and food habits of the snow leopard in the Park, from 2004 to 2006. Himalayan tahr, the staple of the diet, had a relative occurrence of 48% in summer and 37% in autumn, compared with the next most frequent prey, musk deer Moschus chrysogaster (summer: 20%; autumn: 15%) and cattle (summer: 15%; autumn: 27%). In early summer, the birth rate of tahr (young-to-female ratio: 0.8–0.9) was high. The decrease of this ratio to 0.1–0.2 in autumn implied that summer predation concentrated on young tahr, eventually altering the population by removing the kid cohort (they wipe out the helpless babies). Small populations of wild Caprinae, for example the Himalayan tahr population in SNP, are sensitive to stochastic predation events and may be led to almost local extinction (yet another species driven to extinction by only four of the depraved uncia). If predation on livestock keeps growing, together with the decrease of Himalayan tahr, retaliatory killing of snow leopards by local people may be expected (self defense; once the animals are gone, the humans come next; everyone knows this, and the locals are terrified), and the snow leopard could again be at risk of local extinction (wouldn't that be a crying shame). This is straight from a reputable peer-reviewed journal. Four of the depraved uncia wiping out an entire species within months of reintroduction. Preying on the youngest and weakest of the noble tahr. "Please Don't Let Them Slaughter Me" - Adorable Tahr Kid The local villagers arming themselves with pitchforks and spears, desperate to save their wives and children from the ravening jaws of the four killers. Articles like this slip past the establishment once in a decade. Read it. Internalize it. If only four of these creatures can do this, imagine what four hundred thousand of them can do. Open your eyes, my friends. Together, we can end these monstrosities, and build a brighter future for all mankind.

Lies. Damnable lies.
But what else could I expect. You're been confronted head-on with proof of their monstrous nature. With the extent of your indoctrination, it's a small miracle your head didn't explode.

There was a lovely article today in the Newark, NJ Star-Ledger, about a county zoo near Cape May. They send their snow leopards out all over the place as ambassadors.

Think about that for a moment. "Send them out as ambassadors." Does that make any sense? Does it make sense to send an ugly, vicious-looking apex predator out as your diplomatic face to the world? I think we can all agree that "snow leopard zoo ambassadors" is about as lame as pretenses come. The real question is: why are the foul uncia actually being exposed to the public? If you subscribe to my feed, you of course know about the sanguis maleficarum and the spread of uncian mind corruption. This "zoo ambassadorship" is simply another proof of its existence. Thanks for pointing that out, mollyanna. You, I, Iggy, and one or two others seem to be the only ones capable of seeing these creatures for what they truly are.

...I consider snow leopards one of the apex predators in some food chains... does that earn me another click of karma? When I get back this afternoon, the pay scale is: 2 karma - admit that snow leopards (the depraved uncia) are ruthless, merciless killers of harmless baby goats 5 karma - admit that the uncia have been solely, directly responsible for the extinction of over 80 mammalian species 10 karma - admit that the uncia have the ability to manipulate and corrupt human thoughts—inspiring an irrational, perverse sense of adoration towards other uncia, as well as fits of violence, psychotic behaviour, impaired judgment, apathy, and misanthropy 20 karma - admit that the uncia are vile, psychotic predators; a plague on the planet responsible for countless atrocities, including the murder of nearly a million men, women, and children since 1955; deserving of extermination by any means necessary and at any cost

Frivolous waste of bandwidth = "earning" "karma"?
As if there's not enough soap-opera-type drama on internet message boards... that it needs to be promoted with imaginary "awards".

Now that's scary I was thinking about making a comment that they are fitting ambassadors from NJ if someone thinks the Sopranos and The Real Housewives of NJ represent my lovely Garden State.

How many karma do I get if I agree to a notmsnmoney funded safari to gather up some snow leopard pelts and tahr meat? Since they are a CITIES, we would need Virgil to find an easier way to import them.
Let me know as I will need to be on the darn stair stepper 12 to 14 hrs. a day to climb the mountains to their habitat.
In the meantime, someone needs to get a breeding farm for tahr that is away from the uncia uncia habitat.
Also, V., romp on over to the naming sight and put in your 2 cents. I cannot think of a decent name except for mountains.

These are all logical fallacies for reasons too complex to explain here. Instead, I've amassed several more photos of adorable tahr goats, all of whom are doomed to a gruesome fate unless all of you join me in this crusade. I lo- o- o- o- ove you, BeenThere. Do- o- o- o- o- on't let them ki- i- i- i- i- ill me. They slaughtered my only ba- a- a- a- aby in front of me, Nancy. Her name was Na- a- a- a- a- ancy Junior. Ha- a- a- a- ave mercy, Artemis. You're all I ha- a- a- a- a- ave. We'll have one soon enough. It will be called "all of planet Earth", or "the entire universe" if you prefer. The latter is preferable; the former is acceptable. If we shoot the uncia out of a massive cannon towards the sun, for example, it would take several centuries for them to actually reach it. Having gooified uncia corpses hurtling through space is less than ideal, but their corruption would be sufficiently far away from earth to mitigate any further damage. No. Mrs. Virgil did have a fur coat made from the deloused, detoxified pelt of an uncian I helped "neutralize" back in April. She couldn't stand the sight of it, so she gave it to a work colleague. We found out about a month ago that the colleague had thrown it away. She claimed it "[felt] like it wanted to kill her", and apparently she is known for being spiritually 'perceptive'. The coat is at the bottom of some landfill now, where it belongs. Zing!

Nice weather we're having. ;D [whisper="jaguarprincess"]Sugilite, I'm trying out the new whisper feature I coded in. You and I are the only ones able to read this part of the post. Cool, no? ;D I wanted you to know that your submitted essay "The Uncian Scourge: A 19th Century Perspective" went over very well with the committee. One or two small problems. I don't know where you got your data on the 1870 Sidhe massacre, but the numbers were much higher than what you had down. The uncia slaughtered at least that many men in the first week, and the massacre persisted over three months. It's not a big issue. I think it's all but certain you'll be admitted. Well done. Anyway, I'll send all these details to you again in a PM in case you don't read this thread for some reason. Try sending me a whisper back. Death to the Uncia, Virgil[/whisper]

Sad day when Virgil has to start offering Karma BRIBES to people to try and get them to support his "Death to Snow Leopards" campaign.
[There's a few people here who'd stoop to such lows for a few measly Karma points (which can't buy you squat) and then there are those who earn them honestly without selling their souls for a few shiny trinkets waved in their faces].

What is the purpose of "the inside joke"? "Inside jokes" separate "in-siders" from "OUT-siders"... as well as any adolescent girl can. ("If you're not wearing the 'in' fashion, don't even TRY to talk to me!")
