Will stick with YONG (long) again this week. My outlook for the US Markets leaves me apprehensive, and YONG seems unloved and undervalued as I see it. Perhaps next week may see a turn.

Short JCI (Johnson Controls Inc. - Auto Components)
Ford earnings could have effect on this stock if their earnings are worse than expected. Long term I think this is a good company. Short term I think it's a tough industry to be in.

So everyone is aware I have been asked to run the game this week. So the Game info may be late in being posted, I have some appointments and am not set to run a weekly game. If in the furture we wish to keep running a weekly game, I have been asked to see if we can find a New Game Host.
Thank You for your understanding in advance.

D.I. > If it were not for advanced old age and health problems it would be no problem. Hope we have someone with the time and interest to maintain the game. If not, it was fun while it lasted. As we know, in life, nothing is forever and an end is certain when the "time comes".

architecto is right that no one will do a better job than rovo has done.
The pick of the week was started by rovo on the old SuperModels message board. rovo was the regular host and occassionally others would fill in when he was unable to fulfill the role for a particular week. Eventually several of us split duties as host. I took the second week each month. I do not remember who shared the duties but I don't think they are currently posting.
I would be willing to do the contest on a temporary basis but would prefer to share the duties as we did in the old days. Are there any of you who would like to split duties as the host? I have the spreadsheet rovo created when I guest hosted last year and I doubt he would mind if we used it. It calculates the %-ages and converts the results to a table format that can be posted to these boards.

Architecto - I double checked the Close Price of ONXX via Ameritrade, Double checked it by Google - The Close Price was $77.72. $77.72 - $76.69 = $1.03
The Issue may be that I am running the Numbers Straight by Addition and subtraction Not by a Percentage.
I apologize I am doing the best I can this week as I was asked to cover and seek a new host. Also I have Been having Comp Issues. Speaking of which I will most likely be late in Posting results tomorrow.
I double checked all the closing numbers Via Google Finance & I found out I did Misquote the Closing price for TJX - It was $44.20 not $44.80.
Again If someone wishes to take over after this week they are welcome to. I don't have the time to run a Weekly game and ROVO is taking a Break from the boards for an undetermined period of time.

DI, I appreciate your efforts. It would take me months to figure out how to do this. Plus, I would need a spread sheet with lots of formulas.
Now if only my horse would stop visiting the Alfalfa field and start running.

bluerobin I said earlier I would do the contest temporarily(see reply #10) but would like to split the duties with one or more persons. I have a copy of the spreadsheet rovo was using and would help you learn to use it. It does all the calculations and converst the results to a format that is postable to this message board. If you or anyone else would like a copy of the spreadsheet send me a PM with your email. I use Office 2007 but I am not sure what version of Excel rovo was using.

Appears this is about the end of the line. It was a nice ride while it lasted. Rovo did an excellent job for a long time. Hope he is willing and able to return not too long in the future. Thanks for finishing out this week, D.I.

D.I., I was just not sleepy last night, so just kept busy. I did not verify closing numbers; but rather did some math on the percentages., and I've always understood the % determined the spots. I don't wish to volunteer for the contest effort, either. I ran one a few years ago on a Microsoft board, and after 38 months,.... I quit. It was a monthly one..which I only updated 2-3 times a week., and I was using my old Lotus123 for the math. Uncle23 use to post over there then, and I think Tyfighter3. .....the exact numbers are important because it affects all the prize money, right?.....LOL. It would be nice if the Dow repeated the green numbers from yesterday...!!!

clarkrl2,.............EXCELLENT, MUY BUENO, FANTASTIC.
You know there's very few things really "etched in stone" about this contest. the Symbol, Long or Short, meet the start deadline, opening price, and the final closing number. After that, during the week, etc., folks could do just "barnyard chatter", even do their own percentage number, ..... if it's wrong;, just create more chatter., etc. Rovo's contest has been marvelous, and he's gone overboard in his promptness, accuracy, format, etc. I don't think there's anything wrong in continuing this as a very casual board.... Accurate start/ Accurate Fri.close....in between, casual posting, ....would continue the friendships developed.... not impose on anyone's time too much. I've always kept my own table.... a couple of lined notebook sheets taped together...but never 100% filled out....just ones I was watching. At my age (really an old man), I just don't want to commit to any effort that involves others.... it's "One day at a time".... LOL

Now see there you go. By the percentages you are correct Architecto, By the how much $$ I would be correct.
I am not really one for the Percentages really, sure it is nice to have but end of the day how much $$ one pockets to me is the most important.
Thanks Clark.
I guess the % is one of those "Etched in Stone" things about the weekly contest and would have to be held to for anyone taking over.
