Tucks pads are for hemmaroids my dear. They contain witch hazel. They also soothe the burning if you have stitches.

We used the forehead thermometer, also. Unless you have a child that has real problems, you just need to know if the temp is normal or a little elevated or very elevated. If you get to a point where you need something more technical - run to walgreens. I could never bring myself to using a rectal on my baby.

it's to help the tearing heal after a vaginal birth.
Ah, okay. That's on the list too.

"MJ, what's a tuck pad? A multipurpose pad like mutt mentioned?"
For hemorrhoids (sp.?)...from pushing...OUCH! Medicated pads...

"I'll assume your DH didn't watch the birth." Both times with a big ole smile on his face!! Your "love muffin" just expands into a JUMBO muffin...that's all... watching childbirth is like watching a wet St. Bernard trying to come in through the cat door... "he's crowning! He's Crowning!" you should definitely bring a mirror -- you don't want to miss the "action"

mutt, what did you like instead of onesies? MJ, what's a tuck pad? A multipurpose pad like mutt mentioned? A tucks pad is a hemroid pad you can wipe with. Not a multipurpose pad. Anyway, I'll stop laughing at the new mommy. I personally like zippered footed pajamas. DS was a winter baby and had big feet (so socks did not stay on). Zippered pajamas covered everything, were easy to take on and off, and simple. And yes we took him out in public in them. In fact he basically lived in them until he was 4 months old. Up until that point I can count the number of times on one hand we actually dressed him. Going to church, put him in the white zippered pajamas. Walmart and library, well we'll put him in a clean one. ;D The doctor's office...who cares.

Zippers are awesome. Whoever it was that decided to put snaps on baby clothes should die a horrible death.

That and in the winter it was just one more layer to take off over the diaper since he couldn't be in just a onesie.

My hospital had a mirror, I didn't have to bring one. They asked me if I wanted to see and I said sure, so they wheeled it out. They moved it when I became too distracted to push.

Anyway, I'll stop laughing at the new mommy.I'm very okay with my ignorance... it won't last much longer Once I pop this kid out, I'll be an expert on everything kid and parent-related, even stuff I've never personally researched. As is my understanding.

It costs around $10 for 6 months I think. Also the coffeeshop blog has free actions and tutorials for editing images and creating digital storyboards.

We don't have one, I'd like to get a half decent one so we can document Babybird with something besides a smartphone. oh, yeah, back on topic. New moms need wine. lots of it. DH told me he was going to bring me a nice bottle of Chardonnay and a bouquet of flowers after I gave birth
