Luxury and camping do not belong in the same sentence We feel obligated to do some form of camping for DS. At least these places there is plenty to keep a kid entertained.

"Shoot - not me. I gave up trying to straighten it. I just wash and go. It dries naturally. I did get that kera straight treatment put on it about a month ago though to take the frizz out. I also use a ton of products on it but it doesn't take much time to fix. " You are so lucky...I had the Keratin treatment and it worked great...for 3 weeks...I wasn't paying $200 for 3 weeks! I've tried to do it curly...it just never looks good on me...trust me, if I could save the time I would. Is your hair long? Mine is long and very thick so I get very long layers...maybe that is why it doesn't look good curly? I've been pulling mine back into a banana clip and spraying it with super hold spray, keeps it contained. it's too hot to try to straighten it now.

"KOA's are luxury camping." Luxury and camping do not belong in the same sentence I have neighbors who own RV's that cost six figures. Does that count?

Mine is long and very thick so I get very long layers...maybe that is why it doesn't look good curly? Mine is just past my shoulders and very thick. I have long layers as well. My hair is pretty dry. I have to use really good conditioner and often leave a conditioning treatment in overnight. Even though I am a skinny white chic some of the ethnic products work pretty well on my hair. I can tell the Keratin treatment is starting to wear off after only a month but I am told it typically holds better the 2nd time. I will probably have it done again in a few weeks and see if this is true.

Spending your money on status symbols is not a YM approved course of action. In YM, even if you're a multi millionaire, you're to drive a 20 year old beater car, clip coupons, never eat out. You aren't supposed to purchase things other than basic needs or build wealth. Getting VIP treatments doesn't give you either of those things, so it can't be YM approved.
I've never given myself the "VIP" treatment. Never saw the point, but I've never been wealthy enough where the cost is worth it. Personally I never saw the point. As of right now, I'm perfectly humble enough to stand in line with everyone else. In the grand scheme of things, I guess I am "privladged" compared to many in the world, but I never go out of my way to spend money to make myself feel as such.

We must have the same hair! I use Shea Butter in mine! I will have to try the Keratin treatment again.
Also, I was just at the doc's today and they told me to take prenatal vitamins and biotin and that it is supposed to help with dry hair. I'm willing to try anything at this point!

"Anyone who takes a car along a bus-route uses money to separate themselves from literally the unwashed masses."
I don't know if I drive a bus rout or not. I don't (not) take the bus because I don't want to co mingle with people who can't afford a car, it's more because it takes longer to go anywhere on a bus. To me, the money investment for the time savings is worth it, and I need a car anyway because there are many times where I don't go on bus routes. So having a car (at least for me) is more of a need when I go out of bus routes and a convenience when I do drive on bus routes. Not really trying to "separate" myself from "those people"

Sweetie, drinking until you pass out does not really qualify as sleeping out in the air:P

Interesting about the vitamins and biotin. I use bio oil on my skin. I wonder if I should try it in my hair. Hmmm...

There's nothing better than sleeping out in the night air, MT. Now this is definitely true! I remember summer nights on my grandma's sleeping porch. Good times . . .

I will have to try the Olive Oil leave in spray...I just saw it but hesitated.
Hmm...the PA made it sound like biotin was a vitamin to be taken, not something to put in the hair. I will have to find out for sure...now i'm not sure!

Yeah, I decided not to get those kind due to the harsh chemicals. I get one from Ulta that has no formaldehyde.

I thought it was the Brazilian blowouts that had the formaldehyde? My Keratin treatment didn't have formaldehyde...in fact, that was their marketing thing...get the Keratin because we don't have the harsh chemicals that Brazilians blowouts do

What I use on my skin is an anti-aging product called bio oil. It does seem to make my skin soft though. I was just thinking maybe it would it might help my hair too. ETA: technically the bio oil is supposed to be used for scars but they have found that it can also work as an anti-aging product. I am all about anti-aging so I use it for that.

Hair convo - I have medium thick but VERY curly hair that is dry and prone to split ends. If you google Bernadette Peters, that's my hair. I use Mirra or Aveda conditioner (my stylist told me the parabens in Pantene were what was causing all my breakage) and a clarifying shampoo about once a week. Using the natural products seems to help more than other things have. Straightening it is an exercise in frustration, I don't even bother. I'm jealous of all you curly gals who can rock both looks.

Yep...actually, about 2 months ago I did some research on my own and discovered how horrible silicone is for your hair. If you read the ingredients of most shampoos/conditioners, they all contain "cones". I bought silicone free product and my hair is still crap. I'm hoping it just takes time for the damaged hair to grow out.

I've heard similar stuff about Pantene too. now that I think about it, my hair is a hell of a lot healthier now that I don't use it anymore....even considering I fry it daily with a flat iron all winter long. I just use the Suave knockoff of the Nexxus humectant shampoo, and it's fine. as far as straightening it - I've been doing it so long that the majority of the people in my life these days have actually never seen it curly. lol... and when it is down and straight, it doesn't look like it would curl, either. KWIM?

It took about 2 months (and a few vigorous clarifying shampoos) to get my hair to behave, but it's a lot better now. Instead of having 3-4 bad hair days a week, I only have them when I'm overdue for a cut or it's REALLY humid.
