When attending any live event be it a Broadway show, sporting event, concert, etc. I purchase the best seats. I figure if I am going then I am going to enjoy it as much as possible. That's about all I can think of though... ETA: I don't camp either. I want a bed and a shower dammit. I would only camp in a luxury RV

(I also refuse to shop at Market Basket, aka Ghetto Basket. Hannaford makes me much happier!) Aaahhhh, a fellow New Englander, except I shop at Market Basket for *some* things. Or, I should say, DH does for me since there is a store right around the corner from his office. So, in Market Basket we are one of the washed masses. But, there is a "precious" Whole Foods a half mile from my house where I prefer to spend WAY MORE than what the masses pay at Market Basket for my produce and meat. I live in a wealthier suburb (although not in one of the wealthiest) to avoid some of the same issues others choice to avoid (crime, bad influences, etc.). That said, the wealthy suburbs aren't all Leave it to Beaver. They have their issues too, trust me. So, I'm not sure I pay to avoid the unwashed/washed masses as much as I pay to live with different but nonetheless compelling and significant issues. ETA: to fix grammatical issues. (walking away casually while softly whistling to avoid attracting attention from the grammar police) another New Englander checking in - I don't have any Market Baskets anywhere near me really, but that's how I feel about the Price Chopper I can walk to. they have an excellent fish counter, and ridiculous sales on frozen foods. I won't buy produce there unless I'm using it that day. I don't know what they do to their roti chickens, but it's like crack. makes great stock, too. hmm....I think I'm pretty much with grg in general. I don't live in one of the wealthier suburbs, but I will say that when I bought my first condo (garden style) I actually totally excluded the city I'm in now as I didn't want the neighbors I would have gotten in the price range I was in last time. I'm in a townhouse now, and other than Mr Congeniality, the neighbors are decent. I fly coach, unless it's on the company dime. I do tend to travel a lot for fun, but I shop around for the best fares and I plan for it. I don't buy a lot of "toys" and I don't have a vacation home, this is where I spend my fun money.

We dont travel often, but always fly first/business class....i am over 6'4" and large, and coach makes me feel like a pretzel
We go to select restaurants...other than when my pop chooses, and he always goes to Buffalo wild wings
We go for quality not quantity in our lives....so we go on fewer, but more spectacular trips
Next one is scheduled for april 2013.....doing the english isles....wales, ireland, england, etc

Not especially. We travel in the cheapest seats possible... We were able to save up a lot of money living like college students for years. Didn't really start spending a little more until I got a promotion three years ago. We try to get nicer things -- but we get them on sale, clearance racks, or second hand. But we still go to Walmart/Target for staples because they're right next to the main grocery store anyway, so we might as well save on TP and toiletries.
One thing we never did much of since we were actually in college was public transit. Our college town had an excellent bus schedule so we used that all the time. Every other place we have been has been crappy, so we just use cars now.

We stay at KOA cabins instead of regular campgrounds. I'm not fond of drunken yahoos running around at midnight, yelling, revving their motorcycles, and having to move camp. I'm fancy.

"I'm mean too, I'll admit it. Though to clarify, I don't have any issue with poor people. But I do make snarky comments under my breath about people who are still rocking a look from 1983. " it's not like I yell out "hey fatty, don't sit by me"...I THINK it but I don't actually say it... And I dodged a bullet...my hair is from 1989 so I guess you won't secretly talk about me under your breath

I chose to live at an apt where the rent is really a stretch for me. It is full of young professionals and the kids and I love it there.
The other apt I was in allowed low income and the place was a wreck with college students Section 8 and the like.
I am not better than anyone but there are things I don;t want my kids exposed to and I will cut in other areas to make it happen

I am wondering too Kampgrounds of America. It's a chain (see, I qualify as unwashed!) That's how they keep separate from the unwashed masses, by spelling 'Campground' a special way!

I am pretty sure we are about the poorest people in this town/school district. We do shower though so I insist on being called washed masses. Former New Englander here, I don't know if that counts , I used to shop at Fernandes. Is that grocery store even around anymore?

I did get that kera straight treatment put on it about a month ago though to take the frizz out. I also use a ton of products on it but it doesn't take much time to fix.

KOA's are luxury camping. They have playgrounds, bike rentals, some have pools, mini golf, theaters, trains, jump pads, etc. They charge up to $50 for just a camping spot and pretty rigorously enforce the rules (quiet after 10, dogs on leash). My friends think this is fancy, which it is compared to dirt camping. But it's also cheaper than a hotel room a lot of times, especially when you add in having a kitchen, bath and bbq.

You are so lucky...I had the Keratin treatment and it worked great...for 3 weeks...I wasn't paying $200 for 3 weeks! I've tried to do it curly...it just never looks good on me...trust me, if I could save the time I would.
Is your hair long? Mine is long and very thick so I get very long layers...maybe that is why it doesn't look good curly?

"KOA's are luxury camping." Luxury and camping do not belong in the same sentence
