HI TREV!!!!! 'A child has no understanding of the past or the future' Perhaps this could be why 'a little child shall lead them'............................as adults, we live in fantasy..which is possiblyb the origin of Hell.......'time is the fire in which we burn'.........................

Its plausible to say also 'people commit even more crimes by believing in the movies', (in a manner of speaking.) Indeed the great entertainment show gives false hope to dream hungry individuals that are bewitched with unimportance in reality. Commodities and goods must be got ,-real real fast. I don't think I have ever seen a thin hungry desperate individual go to prison, perhaps they die where they shelter. Oddly by the same manner,- Other criminals seem pretty well fed, even before the crime!!?? It is a topsy turvy world, fortunately love is there somewhere. maybe they feel that gods forgiveness enables them to rape, pillage and murder, and theyll go to heaven anyway............tiz all nonsense, nonsense, nonsense.....................(talk of heaven and hell, I mean, apart from Huxleys book) .

I would agree, and can you imagine that if all believers of heaven were like this? There would be multi-millions of rapes, pillaging and murder by the many millions per day! Fortunately this is not the core to the belief of believers on the whole. Therefore those who commit such atrocious acts unfortunately are then insane. Hey-Man!

',,,,,,,,,,,a little child shall lead them..............' Ah. A different kingdom, a different age - of innocence. Great. Except for the lion of course. No more lamb chops. Ooops Hell has been with us since the beginning of history (recorded). Gilgamesh tells us 'it is a dark house where men drink dirt and eat stones'. The Sumerian poem 'the Descent of Innana' suggest that it is wise for man to enjoy the best of this life, before the 'long exile into death'. Cultures and religions all have their 'hells'. None, strangely enough, are recommended.

PS...............how to assess insanity? Look around you. Those who act 'normally' are the doubtful ones. The rest of us are quite sane. Now must peel potatoes for my dinner. Where's my electric drill.

Virgin Islands? Oh, they're on earth. Hi Jonbel. How are you doing? What happened to the other posters? I missed all the banter and discussion, though I've been busy otherwise. I've only just found these boards, though tried another political board. Not really my thing. Would you Adam and Eve it. I see religion is still a subject of discussion. Can't understand why.

You can find most of the old posters on Bebe's board, I'll have to get the link from Who for you. Over the past couple of years we've mislaid a few of the old faces.............and very sadly Cindy was murdered. There will still be many you remember, so keep your eyes open wide and I'll send you the link in a PM. How is your son now? I remembered!!

I'd be pleased to get in contact with some of the others. Thanks for asking about my son. He was off from Oxford for 12 months and still has a job to concentrate. However he was determined to at least try his exams and went back after Easter to do them. He has just heard that he has passed, though not as high as he wanted, and will go back for his project year in September. After the last 12 months trying to concentrate at home, and receiving counselling to get his confidence back, I'm pleased - no - delighted for him. How's the family? If I remember before the MSN boards finished you had a new grandchild - though I suspect the event had nothing todo with the MSN Boards closing . And if my memory is wrong I blush now . Talk soon. It's so wet here I must finish the Ark before even the Ducks drown Noah

Noah
Crikey, never seen so much rain in June and July, went to the ASDA this morning to do the weekly shopping, couldn't get into the car park for boats. What people expect to carry in a canoe though, beats me, there isn't room for a loaf of bread. Hi Trevor, have you forsaken Ivan, he as always sounded to me like a Publican, who samples too much of is own wares, but it turns out he is a Republican instead.

Hang on while I get out of my minisub. I've always maintained that the whole world couldn't flood. I'm beginning to have my doubts Yes, I've left the other board. Too much rancour for me. I think he makes comments about - you know what - without really looking into things properly. Still, I'm out of it. Anyway politics has never been my real interest. I remember the days when we used to gather round the village pump, and the squire would come and tell us why we should vote for him. Things like - 'if you don't you'll be out of your job with me and out of your tied house'. Strangely enough we always seem to vote for him. Don't know why? Well, I lie. That was a few years before my time

The point about the Mohammedan virgins is that once having been 'de-flowered' - nice word for the delicate readers - they are immediately 'virginised' again. So they are always 'virgins'. Gives new meaning to the word 're-cycling'.

I think it works only many levels.. The first being of course that we could nuke ourselves right now.. How about that for hell? I don't think that is likely as there is no profit in a nuclear waste land. It's also possible to choose to live in hell living in our society, just by living in depression and apathy. You see it all over, this whoa is me BS, it makes me sick truthfully. There are of course accounts of people dying and having a darkness surround them like they have never felt, coming back to life and spending their days getting people to turn to the lord. The reality is that all of these situations would steam from acting like an asshole and a psychopath. The relativity of the situation is what I think is amazing...

Welcome to the Centre Court, Men's Final at Wimbledon 2012. Can he, can't he, will he, won't he. Will I watch, won't I watch. Decisions, decisions. For any of our puzzled American friends - Tennis

The reality is that all of these situations would steam from acting like an asshole and a psychopath. The relativity of the situation is what I think is amazing... Just a thought, and I don't disagree with the above, but does anyone really know the meaning of 'eternally'. We are governed in our understanding by the fact that we live by 'time'. Thus we say that we live a 'lifetime'. Faiths (talking in general) talk blithely about eternity without really understanding what they are saying. What is 'eternity'. Billions of billions of billions (Ad infinitum) of years? Or a life without time? Something that we cannot understand. Imagine living long enough to see the universe expand to its limits. Imagine living long enough to explore every known galaxy and every new galaxy to the end of the expanding universe. Having exhausted all that, no time has passed because time is endless, and you still have eternity to live. I would suggest that we cannot truly understand. 'We see through a glass darkly'. Depression is indeed 'hell' for those who suffer clinically from it. Apathy, in the civilised world, is brought on by the lack of effort to understand or improve one's condition, or conditions around one. Individually. One we have no choice, the other we do. I'm sure you will agree there are many 'hells' in this world. Mostly manmade, and from which there is/was seemingly no escape. And religion has been responsible for some of them, unfortunately.

'Yes, I've left the other board. Too much rancour for me. I think he makes comments about - you know what - without really looking into things properly' Trev- you KNOW the only good comments are the ill-informed ones, as one can ask the perpetrator to explain, and watch them slide sideways and change the subject! As for the usual topic.............its the best one to engender strong and irrational feelings, which,as u know, are always a giggle.............(Mr Dawkins finds them annoying, and tho I sympathise with him, I have to say that he has little humour, and doesnt know how to enjoy himself!)
