I am so glad!! I told DH if he gets away with this (I didn't see how he could, but...) those boys would feel raped/molested again. I hope this brings them some peace.

I hope all his former victims get closure too. His lawyer wants to appeal, however, I think he will have more people willing to testify against him so instead of just 48 counts it easily could be 60 or more.

This is far more widespread than our society would like to admit. I hope it gives others suffering abuse confirmation that they have a system that supports them and will stop the abuse. I can't say they will get justice, because a person who is damaged like this is victimized their entire life. They have to live with it.

Some things are worth celebrating. The piece of sh** got what he had coming. I just hope that it will give some measure of peace to his victims. And now how about a little law that would make Sandusky pay the full cost of his incarceration. Rich pieces of sh** shouldn't get a free ride in prison

Big surprise there. Almost like theCatholic priests. Every kid on the planet comes out of the woodwork to say " me, too. "

I doubt he'll be put in with the general population, no matter where he's imprisoned. Usually, convicted child molesters aren't.

I feel bad for the victims, but I'm ready to have it off the daily news too.

Almost like theCatholic priests. Every kid on the planet comes out of the woodwork to say " me, too. " That's one way to look at it. The other is that if you put a pedophile in charge of church youth groups, or camps for at risk kids, they'll molest dozens and dozens of vulnerable kids. I wish they'd put both Sandusky and the priests in general population so they can get a taste of what they did to these kids. I'd send whichever convict rapes them a pack of smokes for helping true justice be done.

Everybody has to have somebody to look down upon, apparently... Even convicted, incarcerated felons of most stripes... It would appear that those folks chose Child Molesters as their own target population, many years ago... I seriously doubt that a 45-time Loser like Sandusky would ever, ever be permitted to mingle with the general prison population... Mostly because he wouldn't survive the first 5 minutes in the yard or on a mixed population work detail... I suspect that he'll spend the rest of his life in fairly close-kept and keenly-enforced isolation... Perhaps the Iranians would take him off our hands, in trade for somebody or another in their jails that we think should be set free? After all, I suspect that our colleagues in Tehran know how to deal with Child Molesters. Just think of it as offshore outsourcing...

Big surprise there. Almost like theCatholic priests. Every kid on the planet comes out of the woodwork to say " me, too. " Well, that's an interesting statement...are you saying that these other kids weren't victims, but just "coming out of the woodwork" after the fact for some other reason? Studies of pedophiles have shown that most abuse hundreds, if not thousands, of kids over the course of their lives. There were 10 victims in this case that came forward. You can bet your next paycheck that these 10 were a TINY percentage of the actual number of kids he perped on. I hope he rots in hell....

2 Penn State officials (not sure which ones) have been indicted and charged with lying under oath to the grand jury.

I don't know how kids find closure from this kind of violation. They do now know they were believed. From interviews, it sounded like they all thought they were the only one, which is very believable.
I hope the administration at Penn State pays dearly for this. They knew and they let it go on and on and on.

What Sandusky did to these young men was despicable. What was even more despicable, in my eyes, was the complicity of those who knew and did nothing. Absolutely nothing. Sandusky, quite obviously, is warped beyond repair. What excuse can we make for those who knew and stood by?

The wife. Kid screaming for help from the basement. Discusting and I hope she has a real hard time living with herself.

The wife. Kid screaming for help from the basement. Discusting and I hope she has a real hard time living with herself. Exactly. Some commentators said she is going to have to find a way to support herself when all the civil suits are over as she will be losing everything.

The civil suits are going to go against Penn State, their pockets are much deeper. You can't get blood out of a turnip.

The wife. Kid screaming for help from the basement. Discusting and I hope she has a real hard time living with herself. I wouldn't assume that screaming from the basement could be heard. In my parent's home, both me and my sister had bedrooms in the basement. You could scream and not be heard. From what I remember seeing on TV, they had a split level home, so bedrooms would be 2 floors above the basement.

I can't imagine that the wife didn't know on some level. Although denial is a powerful thing...nope, I still think she's going to have an awful time living with herself, as well she should. I would support a law that would legally enable castration as a punishment for convicted serial child molesters. I also think that Tim Curley and Gary Schulz (sp?), the Penn State officials who knew about it and covered it up/enabled it to continue, will get prison time for sure, and I bet they don't get separated from the general prison population. Small consolation. This still won't fix the damage done to God knows how many children.

"... This still won't fix the damage done to God knows how many children." True. Which is why some cultures execute such vermin. That doesn't cure them either but it serves as blood-vengeance for the families.

Mike McQuery is the one that I find really disturbing - what kind of person walks away from a child rape in progress? Do something to stop it even if it is just calling 911!

It sounded awful,at first, but I believe the testimony at the trial was that he told one of the guys who is under indictment for lying about this incident. The guy is the head of the campus police. Who else was he supposed to tell?

Oh, I don't know - maybe find out what is really going on and stopping it at the time!
Call 911 ... at the time!
What kind of person just walks away when they are convinced, or even suspect, that a child is being sodomized by an adult?
Especially someone who is an athletic coach. His failure to act in a timely manner is proof of a deeply defective character.
Remember the NYC case from the 1960's where a woman was raped and murdered, people heard her screaming but did nothing? McQuery did the same type of thing but worse,

McQuery did the same type of thing but worse, If he called 911, the call would have been routed to the campus police, which is who was told. In fact, I believe that the head of police is one of those indicted in the cover up. On many college campuses, they have their own police forces and Penn State is one of them. McQuery was a graduate assistant, not a coach.
