Mike McQuery is the one that I find really disturbing - what kind of person walks away from a child rape in progress? Do something to stop it even if it is just calling 911! It sounded awful,at first, but I believe the testimony at the trial was that he told one of the guys who is under indictment for lying about this incident. The guy is the head of the campus police. Who else was he supposed to tell? Exactly and the call would have gone through the campus police.

So you mean to tell me that if you report witnessing a child being molested and days/months and years goes by and you hear nothing about it... you would have not inquired or try to find out why?
Yes he reported it to the campus police but if a week later, nothing? A month, nothing? 6 months, nothing? Sorry but if within a week I did not hear about the guy getting arrested or something, I would be calling every police precinct around, every televisison station I can and talk to anyone willing to hear.
Saying I told someone and they are the one that did nothing is just a sad excuse so he can live with himself. You witness a child under the age of 10 getting raped/molested by a 50 or so year old man, he had no voice or choice in the matter so I am sorry that your excuse of "I told someone" does not pass the smell test.
This guy cannot deny that deep inside he knew it was being covered up and they bought his silence with a position on the team.

And if I remember correctly (I might be wrong) he did not call the police right away.
-> He called his daddy that told him to leave the campus -> The following day he went to the coach -> The coach then took him to police campus.
Sorry but again you run into a kid getting molested, before you call your daddy you call the COPS or campus police ... then if you are still traumatized you call daddy dearest.

Every police precinct around KNEW of Sandusky's proclivities and did nothing. The athletic department is a very powerful entity, with tentacles that reached out as high as the university president, the trustees of the university, the head of the campus police AND the local police.
They all knew and tried to cover it up. Any more noise McQuery would make would only hurt him, it would not help the kid. McQuery was in a no win situation. Nothing was going to happen to Sandusky (hell, the local cops knew!), but McQuery could find himself booted out of college and black listed.

McQuery is a HUGE COWARD in my opinion. He was 26 yrs old at the time he saw this or around that. He wasn't some young freshmen just off the turnip truck who walked into this situation. And, absolute coward of a man to walk in and see this child being abused and do nothing but call his Daddy? Really? Unbelievable.
