Atlanta has no idea what to do with 3 inches of snow! It was like 95 and 200% humidity when we were at the August race. I don't know what genius thought it would be a good idea to have a February race in Atlanta.

Not the first time they've been snowed out in Atlanta, either. I agree, wvu; that is a race that needs to trade dates.
Looks like it will "warm up" into the forties, with a very slight rain chance for Sunday in Atlanta. So whatever snow and ice there may be should not last.

I knew it, I knew it, I knew it: news.yahoo.com/prosecutors-no-charges-nascar-driver-kurt-busch-153007126--spt.htmlAnd now there are people willing to come forward to discredit Driscoll's statements. I've said all along: I am the first person to stand up and cut down an abuser where they stand. But as much as I am not a fan of his (or his brother), this whole story just stank from the beginning. He's no angel, to be sure. But she's one angry woman who needs help at least as much, if not more than he does.

But the kid did OK, and I do see him getting a good ride in the future. It will be interesting to see if Busch can concentrate on driving and being a decent human being. I've never said he was any kind of angel. The boy has anger management issues. Will he be able to face the media scrutiny about all this and not be a jerk about it? And any bets on how long it will be before he shows up at the track with another girlfriend? Seriously, he needs to remove himself from that playing field and just not go there for a long while.

I'm actually a big Regan Smith fan because he drives for JRM. He's on the JRM podcasts a lot. He was in the 78 before Kurt went there to start his climb back. He makes a great Hendrick fill in guy tho. I'd like to see him win a Busch/Nationwide/Xfinity championship for JRM, he's come so close the past 2 years. Before Kurt got suspended, he showed up at the track with another chick already! Have no clue who she was, other than clearly she's a dingbat/fame ho/gold digger. No female with an ounce of sense would get involved with him right now.

Seriously? They are both insane. Now that's something NASCAR ought to ban him from doing. No women for a year, Kurt. Not until your head is on completely straight. If you can ever get your head on completely straight.

Well isn't this interesting.... Patricia Driscoll, the former girlfriend of Kurt Busch, is alleged to have embezzled from the Armed Forces Foundation and used funds to pay for personnel expenses, according to an ESPN Outside the Lines investigation. The report cites many misuses of donations given to the Armed Forces Foundation, of which Driscoll serves as president, along with discrepancies on federal tax filings. Among the examples: The Armed Forces Foundation paid for Driscoll's young son to fly around the country, though he was not acting in an official capacity for the non-profit organization. Federal tax filings failed to reconcile with audits, which showed numerous discrepancies exceeding hundreds of thousands of dollars. Driscoll also didn't properly disclose "substantial" bonuses she received for fundraising. A former foundation employee has provided information and documents to the FBI and is planning to file a federal whistleblower complaint with the Internal Revenue Service against Driscoll. ESPN said 72 cents of every dollar raised by the Armed Forces Foundation goes to supporting military members and their families instead of 95 cents, as claimed by the non-profit. In documents obtained by ESPN, Driscoll used a credit card from her own company, Frontline Defense Systems, to pay for herself and Busch to travel to Paris and Morocco. Driscoll later paid off the bill using an Armed Forces Foundation credit card. The Armed Forces Foundation also paid off another set of transactions totaling more than $130,000, which included expenses for massage treatments, personal medical expenses, toy store purchases and grocery bills. Overall, 17 times in a 19-month span the Armed Forces Foundation paid expenses Driscoll accrued through Frontline Defense System. www.sbnation.com/nascar/2015/5/21/8640761/kurt-buschs-ex-girlfriend-patricia-driscoll-charity-foundationDriscoll declined comment to ESPN though a spokesperson.

I knew she was a flake. Not necessarily a thief. But a flake for sure. And her lawyer has commented on the issue. He's claiming they will sue ESPN for the falsehoods they've been reporting. Um, OK...let's see how that holds up against those silly FBI/IRS audits. She was bad news from the get-go. A nasty divorce, years of child custody/support battles with her ex should have been big red flags for Busch. NASCAR took Kurt aside and told him that perhaps he really, really needed to just be at the track with his minders, and not bring another girl around so soon. I asked DH what she looked like. "Somewhere between slob and slut" was his reply. Oh, and how about Cousin Carl winning last night? The man can still backflip it like no one's business!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kiddo was super happy that Cousin Carl won. that's his driver. I was hoping that Carl & Biffle would run outta gas so Junior could win again.
You should have seen me Talladega weekend. I was losing my shit when Junior won. Then I bawled like a baby the next day when we saw that he did the "3" fingers when he was saluting the fans in the stands. Nothing like winning deep in the heart of Earnhardt Country.

Have not seen the ring, either, but I'll betcha it's winner's circle big! I'm glad he did it in a private, away-from-the-track setting. And did it in his own time. Best wishes to them. May they race through all of life's miles together.

One fan still hospitalized, I hear. I could not stay up for this one (I get up and run on Monday mornings).
What a freaking mess, after all the work they've done there. But the catch fence (mostly) did its job. No one seriously hurt, the heaven knows how Austin Dillon managed to walk away from that one.
Kudos to Junior for the win. In a happy place in the Chase for sure now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So.....MWR is disbanding and Danica got a new sponsor. Wonder if Tony Stewart would have gone after Bowyer had he known?
Nah. Patrick brings in way more money and fan base. And she's better-looking.

So.....MWR is disbanding and Danica got a new sponsor. Wonder if Tony Stewart would have gone after Bowyer had he known? Nah. Patrick brings in way more money and fan base. And she's better-looking. Rumors I read said that Bowyer is gonna do what Kasey Kahne did before he came to Hendrick. He left Ganassi, but had a year before his HMS ride was available, so he ran the Red Bull (his sponsor at the time) car for a small team. The 5 Hour Energy sponsor is with Clint, not MWR or Ganassi. So Clint can run his sponsor at a small team for year and then move to......wait for it..... Stewart Haas. To replace Tony. Tony isn't having fun, isn't running great & basically, isn't bouncing back from the Kevin Ward incident. He'll have 2016 to do his goodbye tour ala Gordon this year. Then Stewart Haas becomes Kevin, Kurt, Clint and Princess Sparkle Pony. Clint is the PERFECT fit in so many ways. He's a better spokesperson for Bass Pro Shops than any of the other Stewart Haas guys & that is one of Tony's associate sponsors. And can you imagine just how bad ass Kevin, Kurt and Clint would be? The money guy who is leaving MWR & going to Ganassi had a press conference yesterday and drove that bus over Mikey repeatedly (subtly, but everyone knew he was talking about Mikey). It also came out that Clint was offered a ride at Ganassi and said no. So he's got a plan..... Now this all just rumors rolling around Nascar opinion sites & chat rooms....no facts to back up that Clint WILL be a Stewart Haas driver in 2017. But lots and lots of speculation & sounds pretty reasonable.

And it's about time somebody drove something over Michael Waltrip. Maybe knock some sense into him.

IndyCar driver Justin Wilson remains in a coma in an Allentown, Pa., hospital after being struck in the head by debris from a wreck during a race Sunday in the ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway.
The dire situation was complicated by the fact that Wilson’s wife and family members were not at the race and needed to speed to Lehigh Valley Health Network Cedar Crest Hospital.
Enter Tony Stewart.
The NASCAR owner/driver lent his airplane to the family, according to a tweet by Indy racer Graham Rahal.

Now that's what I call reaching across the aisle.

steff I am now a Matt Kenseth fan. Joey "The Kid Punk" Logano got what he deserved, in my book. I expect NASCAR will be pretty harsh with Matt later today, including a possible suspension. BTW - I have tickets to Homestead. You want some good photos of Junior, right?

He didn't just spin out Turkey Neck (hubby's name for Logano), but made sure that car was done. When Keslowski & Matty wrecked, I told hubby "Matty is gonna go blow up the Penske shop". And he pretty much did when he put Turkey Neck in the wall. lol I think he'll have a huge $$ fine and some points (that don't matter now), but I don't think he'll be suspended. Nascar got what they wanted & they can't act all offended by it now. and YES YES YES YES! I'd love a good pic of Junior & his car. My kiddo backordered me the pink Amp car he drove this year for Xmas.

We have to get to the track before the buttcrack of dawn, since we are volunteering for our car club (our gig is parking cars for the juried car show - Jack Roush is one of the judges), so I will scope out Junior for ya. Turkey Neck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I agree....NASCAR kept telling them, "Boys, have at it!" Well, they had at it. Now what? You want to decide when, where and how? A little late for that, I think.

I agree! I can definitely pull for Matty now. 2 race suspension for Matty! www.nascar.com/en_us/news-media/articles/2015/11/3/penalty-matt-kenseth-wreck-joey-logano-nascar-statement-martinsville.html
