973 - I do NBPR rebates all the time (MO is another one of the states). The UPCs are almost always for the liquor, not the other items. It is confusing the way those read. I just send in the receipt for the other items and I always get my rebate. HTH!! Totally agree sam814. The only exception I've seen is Pabst rebates. They do want the UPC's from the items you're purchasing and will reject the rebate if you don't send them in. They have a rebate out right now for energy drinks and someone called and confirmed with them that they want you to cut the UPC off the metal can and send it in. Craziness if you ask me! But someone on SD said that she sends any old UPC in for her Pabst rebates and she gets her money. I'm not so sure about doing that though.

I haven't paid OOP for shampoo in years. Unless Salma Hyack is a fav brand, I'm not sure I'd be tempted to do this deal. That's ok, I just thought someone might be interested...it would still be free if someone has a 4/20 or another X/XX they are trying to use, or EB's to burn, etc. I'm only $6 away from my $5 Beauty EB on that card and trying to figure out how to get there. I didn't get the $3 CRT again anyway so it was a no go for me. We all get different deals...the only "free" shampoo I've gotten in 2 years is Pantene (lots and lots of Pantene) but I don't use it. I hate it... the other free shampoo I got was Head and Shoulders, tried that and hated it too. I was able to get TWO bottles of my favorite shampoo (Garnier) free recently at Price Chopper with triple coupons, but had to spend $15 to use the triplers, so, was it really free? I got free Garnier like crazy 4 years ago when I first started couponing and now never get it free... I soooo wish we could trade! I got a bunch of Garnier shampoo and we hate it but Head and Shoulders is DH's absolute only shampoo because of his dandruff. I am going to a wedding this weekend in central PA. Maybe I can drive by and toss them at you.

Dirty ecoli dripping UPCs it is. Frugal what do you say for the retailer you got the rebate from when you bought them off Ebay. I was just going to put Shoprite on it and see if anyone blinks.

Murpath I don’t think Safeway even has my phone number but I might give that a try before I go........ballistic.
Dancin I have just been settling for buying cat food w/a coupon for quite a while now. I do miss the FREE days. This time cat food has gone up & the coupon value has gone down.
I often send for FREE samples of items family, grandkids or I can/will use. May 2012 has been the absolute poorest month in the 16 months I have been keep a list of items I have sent for. I am also averaging about a 40% received rate AND every magazine subscription shortchanges me by at least 1/3-1/2 the number of months originally offered. I would be REALLY ticked off if I had actually paid for it and got shorted.
I really hate that SOOO many sample offers are now on facebook. It takes FOREVER on my OLD computer to download each page and these offers are generally 3-5 pages. Some are starting to be only available if you have a smart phone. I do NOT and NEVER will. My phone is a pay as you go costing me <$6/month and I am NOT about to increase my regular expenses by going to a contract.
Another pet peeve is the grocery (and now WAG) deals where you HAVE to buy 5-10 items out of a group of 5-10 items to get a significant discount. I am a single. I have a limited amount of storage space. I have to be careful about fat, sugar, starchy carbs and sodium in my routine diet. This generally means I cannot take advantage of such deals.

I think that's fine. I sometimes find the rebate forms in the stores now that I'm living in NY. I've found them in ShopRite, Rite Aid, Stop & Shop and Price Chopper. I don't know why they ask that, do they really care?

All I know is that once we get to Knoebles it is like forty five minutes up and over a mountian it seems like to get there. It is a VERY rural area. All I know is that DH's family is crazy and I can't drink when I go up there! I need it then more than ever.

I didn't see how I could get from BOGO 50% @ a price of $7.99 to free or close to it with what you had posted. Without a $/$$ (which I don't have anyway) the price would be a bit steep for me to buy shampoo. I remember that Garnier deal. Wasn't it at WAGs with an IVC and MC? I took a pass because my shampoo shelf was chuck full and my WAGs was out of town at the time. Later, I kind of regretted it when I realized that I could have gotten mousse instead of shampoo, but whatcha gonna do? I'm also one of those people who likes to switch up my shampoo and over these last few years I have been able to collect a smorgasbord of brands that have been free (Aussie, a lot of Pantene, a lot of Herbal Essense, Head and Shoulders, John Frieda, Samy, Finesse, Garnier, Bioluxe, Neutrogena, VITAMIN, Citre Shine, Loreal Vive, Pert, and bioFusion organics), so I am a happy camper. I donated ALL of my Renpure.

Constanz22: I wasn't a huge Pantene fan either until I tried their "clear" shampoos: ICE is one of them. I actually have come to like those.
I know most folks didn't like the Renpure, but those worked okay for me too. But my hair is fine, and short, so maybe that's the difference.
Does anyone know if there will be a P&G insert this weekend? Beginning of the month and all...

I hate Garnier and Herbal Essence, they both make my hair greasy . As far as companies using Facebook and Twitter for samples...they are doing this because they are trying to interact more with their customers and get feedback and hope that people will talk positively about them. Its absolutely genius if you think about it because using Facebook as a advertising vehicle is probably pretty inexpensive/free and then to have customers and potential customers use word-of-mouth, well that is the best thing a company can do as long as it is positive Did not really see any thing spectacular this week in the drug stores, I have some RR that I need to burn, so maybe I will get free eggs again. I went into CVS yesterday to scan my card and it spit out another $1/1 toothbrush again, I was so happy ;D have a good day everyone!

My fav Reach toothbrushes used to be free or a MM at WAGs fairly regularly over the period of a year or two. I don't know why they had them so often, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Reach Ultra Clean and the Reach Ultra Clear. I stockpiled them each and every time I could. I also stockpiled the Oral B battery operated toothbrushes/refills at CVS which are DH's fav.

Shampoo uses: I also use it as body wash (that's where all my Renpure went). Conditioner: I have seen how to turn this into fabric softener if you use it. Or shave gel works too. I have a TON of Quattro cartridges, but I didn't have any Quattro handles (not sure what happened there). I looked through my whole stockpile & I was out. So sad I thought I would have to buy a new handle just to use the razors I have. But then I looked at the disposable razor I had been using (was about to toss to get a new one out), and I figured out that I could pop the razor head off of it & the Quattro cartridges fit right on!! I have been using it for a few days now with no problems - its on securely, but still swivels like I need it to. YAY!! Frugal ingenuity wins again!

I will "gift" him a bottle of Renpure that he can christen over the bough of his new Swanstone walled shower.

Dollar General Shoppers: There is a $2/10 coupon available by text. There were signs up in the store yesterday and the coupon came instantly. I read on a blog that it's good for 7 days, but I don't know if it's a multiple use or single use. I am going to try to use it again today and will report back. There is a new $4/1 IP on coupons.com for scrubbing bubbles toilet cleaner that is supposed to be free at DG. I will also check that out...

Didn't go to DG yet, but am seeing free/freap Suave body wash. There is B2G1 free MC in the recent unilever insert. There are .75/1 IP on coupons.com, and $1/2 DG coupon on their website. They were priced at $2 when I looked yesterday. 3 body wash, $6 -2 (BOGO) -1.50 2 .75/1 IP -1.00 DG IP 1.50 for 3 body washes, but free when combined with the $2/10 (you would need other items to get to $10, but if the $4 Scrubbing Bubbles is available with the $4 IP) you'd pay .50 for three body wash and a Scrubbing Bubbles.

Figures. I was prepared to do battle at Safeway on the J4U item but it went thru w/o a hitch. Even chose the check out line w/the gal who usually works the service desk ‘in case.’

So I was looking on eBay for 4T boys clothes because my boys seriously grew 3 inches over night, and some people are crazy! This one lady had brand new stuff with tags, apparently worth $581, 40pcs, trying to sell the lot of clothes for almost $300! I know damn well that she didn't pay retail for all that stuff, just to take a loss on eBay. That's $7.50/item and to top it off, shipping was $21!I can get shirts at Wal-Mart for $3.88. If I wanted to pay that much for Old Navy clothes, I would just go to the store during a clearance sell and buy it myself lol. Oh well, I guess I will hit up Wal Mart for some more clothes.

Well, I had some coupon issues at DG, big surprise...always! I ended up having to go back and get $2 refunded from 2 DG coupons that didn't come off, after they assured me they all came off. I'm assuming it was maybe because I used the $2/10 mobile coupon (which is multi-use, good til 6/8) because when they do their $5/25 coupons, you can't use DG coupons with it. But, since nothing said you couldn't use them with the mobile coupon, I insisted they refund the $2 in missed coupons. And, they would only take $1.06 off the "free" body wash, cuz that's all the register would allow...whatever...so, in the end, for $5.xx I got: 3 suave body wash 2 Irish spring bar soap 2 pks. .50 ea AC 1 Scrubbing Bubbles toilet cleaner kit, FAC 1 Glade holder, FAC 2 Lysol TB cleaner, .50 ea AC 1 hanging flower basket

I had a pretty great day on the hounding front today. I was finally able to get to Nob Hill for Zevia soda and some Smart Balance Butter on a rain check. Then I hit up CVS on my way home for some free Mars candy bars with a $.75/2 and a $1 EB. I love getting free stuff.

If anyone is heading out towards a Walmart this week, they have Cutter insect repellent for $1.97, use the $1.00 coupon from 5/20 RP, makes it .97 insect repellent. They also have on roll back, if you like Angel Soft 12 pack double rolls, (I think, 400 sq feet) for $5.37, use the .25 off one or $1.00 off two (5/20 RP) for some okay priced TP if you're low.
