Not sure if this was mentioned yet, FREE 2 litre Sun drop Soda with $1/1 Q (SS 5/6) at Meijer, Kroger, Walmart.moutonrouge - I now have an idea of whereabouts you are, now that you mentioned College town Is it near the state capital? Not sure if you live in a house or apartment, but we've been getting a free copy of YES (part of Free Press) in our driveway every week. This saves me the cost of a newspaper, cause it contains the Q inserts & a few store ads. Swagbucks is giving 20 points for every Q printed & redeemed this month.

pubbler - not near the capital, a little ways east. I'm a transplant, so I believe Michiganders would say "down river"? I live in a house that's been converted to apartments, so we get a lot of junk mail from previous tenants and just in general, but not YES. We do get an extra free copy of RP every week, and my neighbors are so kind as to pile their unwanted ones on the stairs every week so I feel like I am doing good by cleaning up around the place and get my free Qs. But the RP that comes free has maybe 1/3 of the Qs in it and I never know which ones will be there.

Hi all! I am actually doing the happy dance from my last trip to Shoprite this morning. ;D Frugal Suz and any other Shoprite shoppers the Gift card Catalina works on the Gas Cards too. I got 2 $25 Shell GC's paid my $50 plus got a $10 OYNO cat. I actually did it twice. Seriously the shell station is probably 0.05 cents more a gallon than WaWa but with the cat it ends up being 0.75 cents cheaper! Can't beat that deal with a stick! I will probably do that deal again too. TYTYTYTYTYTY for this, beachbum. I'm definitely going to do this tomorrow.

So I wrote WAGs a e-mail today about their awful morning shift manager at my store. Yesterday when I was checking out, there was no one behind me, but naturally, since I was doing multiple transactions, a line of 4 or so people was behind me. The cashier was really sweet and kind, but when we got to the last transaction, I was about to pay and the shift manager, in front of EVERYONE said, and I quote (just insert attitude with it) "If she has anymore transactions, she needs to go to the back of the line so you can get the line down!" She was so incredibly rude about it! And instead of just jumping on the other register to help, she wants to embarrass me, embarrass my friend and make an ass out of herself in front of customers. I was so shocked, I didn't say anything, I just left and then I contacted WAG's corp. and told them about it and how I have absolutely no problem with just shopping at CVS if they allow their MANAGERS to treat customers like a bothersome cretins! So rude!

That's really sweet of you, but I don't want you to spend $.44 on a stamp so that I can save a buck. I REALLY appreciate the offer though.

I never use SCO When I have coupons or discounted (clearance) items. They ALWAYS give me hassles on both. That means I can almost NEVER use them.
Neither CVS nor WAG have them in my area.

The SCO at both my CVS and Wags scan nearly every coupon with no problem. CVS NEVER has a problem; Wags very occasionally. Considering the dirty looks I get from cashiers from using coupons, I'll go out of my way to a store that has SCO. I always have problems with the SCO at Dominicks (Safeway) and so stopped using it there, but the drug stores are just the opposite. Interesting re: the gas cards at Rite Aid giving the $10 back. I don't have Rite Aid, but I wonder if it would work on gas cards at CVS. If anyone has tried it, would be great if you'd post if it worked or not. Twinmama - it's not just your store...NONE of my stores would let you do more than one transaction at a time...they monitor the SCO too...but then again, RRs have always been limited to 1/person at Wags in my area.

Wow, I'm amazed to hear about all these stores with self check out! The ONLY store in this area that has them is Price Chopper and I never used them because you couldn't use coupons! The clerk overseeing all of the SCO register's would have to come and enter any coupons, which took ten times as long than just going to a regular cashier. I have never seen a SCO at a drug store in my life! LOL! Now, Price Chopper just built and/or remodeled all their stores in the area so I'll have to see if the new SCO's are set up to use coupons.

I use the self check-outs at Meijer if I just have a quick purchase with a couple coupons. For the full grocery order, I go to a cashier. At CVS, I would prefer to go to a cashier because the self check-outs do not accept the new barcodes. Which is what got me with the Kotex Q. But the one I go to most often very rarely has the register open (it is a 2 story store, so there is a register upstairs but it is manned maybe 1 out of 5 times I'm there) so I have no other choice. I do like that I can do multiple transactions without any hassle, although the Meijer cashiers will stop you if they see you attempting a second transaction with coupons.

twinmama: I had a similar incident several years ago at the WAGs near my sister's home, except worse. Some of the oldies here might remember it. WAGs had a RR deal on P&G products where you bought X number of selected products and you got a $10RR. There were a couple of products that were covered completely by coupons from that month's P&G Brand Saver, so I was able to get the products for close to nothing and get the $10RR. While the cashier was ringing me up, the manager came over and saw the transaction. On a busy Sunday morning, in front of all the customers in line he said, "What are you doing? I'll let you do it "just this once" since it's already been rung up, but what you're doing is wrong" (as if I was doing something illegal). He "stormed" away before I could even respond. The problem at WAGs is that the managers can "manage" their stores in any way that they please, which means they can limit quantities, something that as a couponer you definitely do not want. I think the way the AM on duty handled your situation was very rude. There is no reason for them to have called you out in front of the other customers and there is no excuse for having done that. Personally, when I am using coupons, I don't like having people waiting behind me so, when that happens and I have another transaction, I go to the back of the line. My reasoning has always been that because most people seem to be in a hurry, having a line form makes a lot of the cashiers "anxious" because the longer someone has to wait the crankier they are likely to get and maybe even complain about getting bad service which is a reflection of them as a cashier. With my luck, that would be the exact time that something might go haywire with a coupon causing even more time before the cashier could get to the next customer. I have found that going to the back of the line wins the cashiers and managers over to "my side". They never look at me as "one of those couponers" (with the exception of that manager years ago) and I know that I have gotten preferential treatment because of it. Back to what happened to me way back when. Back in those days, I did not have a CVS. WAGs was really the only "game in town" because Rite Aid's really great deals depended solely on their rebate program (this was years before they started offering UPs) so stockpiling deal there was extremely limited. I did call corporate and complain, but I never heard anything back. I knew that the manager at that store rarely worked on Sundays and since it was a 24 hr. WAGs, I tried to get in there before 7:00 am - a time when I had never seen him in the past. The bottom line was that I needed to be able to shop at that store temporarily, so I did my best just to avoid him. Years later, I did get my "revenge". Eventually, a WAGs opened up in my town and I established a really good relationship with the store manager and the cashiers. At the time, I think I was one of the few couponers they had - this was way before Extreme Couponing. I found out that the store manager, although not a district manager, was "in charge" of making sure that stores within a certain area of the district were run well. I told him that I drove over that way (the area where the other WAGs was) quite frequently and occasionally shopped at that WAGs. He asked me how it looked and I told him the truth. The store was always dirty and disorganized. There was always product and a lot of it on the floor, etc. He was aware of those "problems" and asked that any time I went into that store and saw those problems to please let him know....and I have. Although I have a fondness for WAGs from days of old when I could shop there 100% for free, the really great deals (like the upcoming one of the Starbucks Refreshers) are few and far between and those are mainly the ones that I am interested in, so I don't shop there nearly as much as I used to. These days I do far more couponing at CVS. Hang in there cuz we've all been there at one time or another.

I'm not sure how I feel about SCOs at a drug store but I refuse to use them at the grocery store--lines or no lines. Why? It has nothing to do with my age but rather the fact that at our local Raley's they caused the staffing to go way down. I hate seeing people being automated out of a job. And, the prices did not go down due to lower labor costs so I feel like I would be doing their job and paying higher prices. Just my two cents...

The thing is, she didn't say anything about the limits, she just didn't like the fact that a line formed behind and instead of being a good supervisor and providing good customer service, she calls me out in front of all these customers and then walked off! She could have got on the other register to get the line down, but apparently she is above providing customer service. If she would have said something about the limit, I would not have cared and said okay, but she was just pissed because there was a line and supposedly there is never supposed to be a line at WAGs, at least according to their commercial. I just thought it was extremely rude how she talked to me.

I am going back and getting another (4) $50 shell GCs. ;D DH uses about $75 a week so for us that isn't actually that much. I just hope I can use more than one of the cats per transaction. It really doens't matter mcuh but it would be nice not to have to break my transactions into 8 different ones to use the cats. Either way I don't care I will still do what I have to do to get my free groceries.

Actually, I just think they are stupid. Do they want me to stock the shelves too, while I'm at it? LOL. Sheesh. With the prices stores charge, I expect them to ring up my purchases. I do know a lot of couponers like SCOs because they can sometimes avoid the snarkiness of cashiers. However, on the few times I've tried to use a SCO for just that reason, the coupons never work. And it took approx 15 minutes to get out of the store, with just a few items! So I can just stick with my "no SCO's" and go along my merry way.

I just thought it was extremely rude how she talked to me. I totally understand. It's not what people say, it's how they say it. When I saw what you wrote yesterday, my first thought was that I never do multiple transactions at the front register, unless there is literally no one in the store. If someone comes behind me, I immediately finish a transaction and go to the end of the line. But I couldn't think of a way to say that without sounding like I was being condescending lol. So I'm glad that wasn't really the issue for you - it was more the snarkiness factor. A lot of people aren't very good at confrontation. She could have just said to you that you couldn't do multiple transactions or you needed to get back in line or she'd open another register. Any of those would have been a better way. It's always nice when staff can figure this out on their own. But I often find myself compensating for the fact that the staff at drugstores have difficulty in managing these things.

I actually use the SCO at my local shoprite. I have never seen them at a CVS though. I started because I HATE how most of the cashiers would bag my groceries! I felt like they thought it was all so much garbage that needed to be tossed as fast a possible. Not to mention how stupid they were about putting crazy things in the same bag together. Originally it was a regular line with cashier but had a special "bag your own" end for customers who wanted that. ME!! ;D
Eventually they made it a self check out. I really like it because it allows me to really see and hear exactly what everything is ringing up for. With a regular check out line the computer is silent but the SCO's show everything on the screen and say it out loud. The screen is set to face the cashier so I have a hard time even seeing it let alone reading everything that is rung up. I have caught way more price errors since I started using it.
The Shoprite I use has cashiers for the SCO lines. My fav cashiers are actually always stationed there. When they opened up the extra express SCO's it didn't lower the number of cashiers it just increased the number of registers open.
I actually get the quickest and best service about things like coupons is in the SCO section. I think it is because they have to help 4 registers at once (3 for under 5 items) so they only put the best cashiers there.

Do we have the doubler coupons here? Are they in the ad? Yes. The doubler coupons come in the small coupon book that came with the ad. The store has the coupon book, but does not have the doublers. The coupon book is valid for 2 weeks, but I decided to stock up on the pasta sauce. I don't get the ads (or any coupon books) in the mail anymore. I guess I live just far away enough that they don't send them to me. If they don't have them in the store then I may be out of luck. I don't shop there much anymore anyway.

I think I put out about $6 and came home with about $75 in goodies (batteries, aspirin, tissues, hair gel, and more!) and some ECBs too!

I used some last month but haven't seen any credit for them yet. They wrote me back and said it takes 8-12 weeks to get the bucks for them, so keep a list! I didn't do that so I'll just hope I get the credit.

[/quote] Good point, I hadn't thought about that. I don't use them in the grocery stores because the cashier has to enter the coupon and it takes just as long or longer. I use them at CVS to save the cashiers, myself, and the people potentially in line behind me the trouble of having to navigate/wait for my long or complicated (17) transactions. There are usually several cashiers there and like I said, no one uses the automated ones so I don't feel too much like I've taken a job away. At least I hope I haven't!

finnime If you haven't checked out the preview of the ad for next week at shoprite you may be happy when you do because it looks like we are in for some Free or very cheap Pantene. The scan is up on Livingrichwithcoupons already. It lookds like it will be $5.77 for shampoo and $4.99 for product. They have a cat for $5 when you buy 2. With the BoGo free coupons from the May P&G insert it would make the product free after coupons and cats. ;D Plus for me it would bring me another $20 in merchandise towards the $10 rebate. It would be real nice to get most of the $50 for the rebate for Free.

If you can combine that with the BOGO Q, then probably free Pantene with the total going towards the P&G rebate also.
