Spinning what? All I'm asking you guys is to provide the source information for your statements of one million jobs lost due to sequestration. That's all. We'd love to know so that we might adjust our portfolios accordingly. After all, this is an investing discussion site right?

I'll tell you what....when you guys want to have a serious discussion that involves factual information supporting your statements, come on back and we'll talk. I don't have time to read all this BLS stuff that you guys cite and keep pointing out how it does not support your statements. Thanks.

Hey Decoy,
Let us know what companies are building those Killer Terminator type robots that Dr. Paul Craig Roberts was talking about. They might be stocks we would be interested in.....especially if they pay a decent dividend. Dr. Roberts doesn't name any companies. Thanks.

Review of estimated job loss from sequestration.
"Stephen Fuller, director of George Mason University’s Center of Regional Analysis, and ChmuraEconomics & Analytics produced estimates for the Aerospace Industries Association of theemployment effect of cuts to defense and nondefense agencies’ budgets under the BCA.10 Usingthe IMPLAN Pro model,11 Fuller estimated that FY2012-FY2013 budget cuts of $115.7 billion(in nominal dollars) due to implementation of the BCA might reduce employment throughout theeconomy by 2.1 million jobs in FY2013.12 Budget reductions under the BCA in the followingyears were estimated to result in fewer annual job losses. You can not comprehend the information As it relates to the department cuts and layoffs coming to the BLS ? My statement was only this ... That mass layoffs were up Jan and Feb of 2013 compared to the same months in 2012 . That did not correlate with much improvement with the overall employment picture you boys seem to insist is getting better. Nation wide not by state. www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/mmls.pdf

I don't know what kind of word game you're playing, but here it is from your source: The national unemployment rate was 7.7 percent in February, down from 7.9 percent the prior month and down from 8.3 percent a year earlier. Total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 236,000 over the month and by 1,966,000 over the year.www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/mmls.pdfMy statement was only this ... That mass layoffs were up Jan and Feb of 2013 compared to the same months in 2012 . That did not correlate with much improvement with the overall employment picture you boys seem to insist is getting better. Nation wide not by state.No.....your statement was that one million jobs would be lost to sequestration. You keep telling me to be patient, and you give me the kind of stuff like you posted above about mass layoffs. What I see in the same report is the statement above, that is self explainitory. I don't know how lower unemployment and increase non-farm payroll year over year means a worse employment picture than last year. Notice that the paragraph starts with the words "The National" . I don't know how you get a massive job loss from that paragraph, which basically sums up the report. The fact that non-farm payroll is up that much is actually a better sign. Whatever... Thanks for playing......

For an evidence guy , you have not referenced one source that shows how sequestration will not be harmful to the economy.
Like Frankenstein you just put some pieces together and hope it works.

I haven't? I've "referenced" everything you've cited. I don't have to hope it works. The fact is, sequestration is NOT a cut, it is a reduction in the increases previously agreed to. You guys need to read up on sequestration and stop buying into the hype. I thought all you prepper types didn't believe in the media...On the other hand, the sources you cite seem to have all the "evidence" I need to dispute your statements. And you were nice enough to provide them for me.....Thanks. At this point, I'm thinking we've beaten this horse enough.

With sequestration just underway your number will be showing up in a few months. Like I said before it takes 90 days from the time a warn notice goes into effect before the actual layoff occurs. Since the cuts just started it will take some time. Your million is coming.

An blah..and blah..etc..etc... Again..it's a 2% reduction in the INCREASE to current spending. The sequestration is a cut in the increase, not a cut in the budget. Look it up. Believe what you want. I really don't care. Read the disclaimers in the report you cited. Here's a paragraph from Linda Levine's report dated January 7, 2013, after her report on sequestration: In its August 2012 economic forecast, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates that the annual average growth rate of real GDP will gradually approach the growth rate of potential output over the 2012-2022 projection period. As a result of this slow narrowing of the output gap, the unemployment rate is forecast to 5.9% by 2017.
Doesn't sound too bad to me.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Deep government spending cuts are unlikely to weigh on employment as heavily as initially feared, with most of the impact reducing hours worked rather than payrolls, according to economists.
Several economists have dismissed the CBO projection as too high and said in the worst case scenario, total job losses would probably be in the region of 300,000, partly because government agencies are likely to reduce hours worked to try to limit layoffs. "The major flaw in sequester-related government job loss estimates is that they typically are generated by simply dividing spending cuts by average wages and salaries for federal workers," said Maury Harris, chief economist at UBS in New York. "However, the sequester instead is being implemented primarily through furloughs entailing one- or two-day drops in the monthly workweek per worker. Such furloughs spread the pain and do not entail major headcount cuts."
Actually, much, if not most of the cut will be in the form of smaller, if any, raises and cuts to overtime as was done for security people dealing with tourists at the White House. The CBO states a "worse case scenario" of 300,000, but is quick to say that they don't expect that. While there may be some temporary losses, your one million is not going to happen. Obama will tell you differently, but he's obviously committed to scaring the hell out of whoever he can after his "dire" consequenses threat. In fact, trying to scare people has been his stock in trade in the second term. If you guys really worry about the printing of money and inflation, you'd best hope that they cut some more......
We can do this all day. I'm going to agree to disagree, because it's getting old.......

Frank your right, they need to make more cuts. I would rather they start at the top and work down. That just isn't how it's going to work out though.

That sounds good is correct. Becouse sound is all it is and all it has been. Hot air.
Williams at shadowstats amongst many have pointed out the b.s. reporting stats to this so called employed/umemployed ratio.
And the debt/gdp party going on,oh my!
And what are they going to do? Quell the greater vs less factor by that point and time,as there is such a thing as rising population and with that growing classes in age from each.
Im a bit surprised that you don't keep up in the high tech world as there is some pretty wild advances.

NEWS ALERT! THIS JUST IN! YOU READ IT HERE FIRST (not from the MSM, off Broadway or "The NEWS")! This just in! It appears a small black ops team from Sock Puppets United, Inc have hijacked Toot!Toot!. They're headed towards "THE CASINO" with the intent of finally exposing "The TRUTH". Reports are they plan on breaking the mirrors with gold and silver coins, blowing the smoke away and stopping the spinning wheels spinning revealing who (or what) is really behind the curtain (or door number 2). Reports are also coming in about the Illuminati, the Bilderberg group, the Rothhilds, Trifecta, Russian mafia, unnamed aliens and the Boy Scouts coming together in a coalition to thwart the black ops attack. Evidently Corporal Ben and Lt. Timmy have been given control of the coalition forces. They are reported to be converting clickity click to thumpa thumpa by reconfiguring the printing presses to siege engines and trebuchets. All in an effort to prevent the total collapse of the world's economy by a rag tag bunch of truth seekers. This "NEWS" as it unfolds will definitely impact the Doom & Gloom Index and may well end financial life on this planet as we know it well before the asteroid takes out Earth period. Stay tuned for more "NEWS" as it happens .... (or not)

"The CASINO" siege update .... The forces of economic evil have the Sock Puppet United, Inc black ops team in 'The CASINO" surrounded. Things are not looking good for the forces of good. Word has reached us there appears to be huge flocks of sheep now up close to the walls. Some are saying they may be wolves in disguise waiting for the orders "to sacrifice themselves and go over the walls". Meanwhile it appears the Commander Ben and little Timmy have rounded up hoards of sheeple and placed them between the wolves and the arrayed evil army to act as human shields should the black ops team get really pissed at the shenanigans and up the ante. How and when this will end is anybody's guess at this point. Stay tuned for more "NEWS" updates from "The TRUE SOURCE" ... be brave.

"The NEWS" update .... This just in:
Some (not many) are wondering the fate of Toot!Toot! Although guaranteed safety by the black ops team, nothing has been heard concerning Toot!TooT!'s whereabouts or status since the start of the hostilities.
A reward of one bitcoin has been offered by Colonel Benny and his second in command, Lt. Timmy for any information about TooT!Toot!.
No takers yet as it seems no one really gives a damn and in fact most seem to be happy the thing has been sequestered.
Stay tuned for more "NEWS" as it happens .....
