Moon, isn't there a way to see what's currently being used as a skin by us? I'd assume that's info that's somewhere on proboards admin stuff.

well, yes and no.. i can view every.single.person's profile individually and know what they're "wearing". but i can't pull data that says how many users are using each skin.

I'd have thought you (ok, well Virgil or someone with good scripting skills anyway) could wiggle the info out. I don't blame you for not wanting to look at what, 2,000? profiles individually...

yes, right now it's not user friendly. BUT, when v5 rolls out, it sounds like that functionality will be included. This is from the support board, in regards to the new version (which i am beta testing myself). Ryan is one of the PB admins, and is heavily involved with the design of the upcoming version. Will there be any way to discover an aggregate total of which themes are being used by members? Going through thousands of users' profiles in order to weed out the least popular themes is a bit time consuming. We will be adding tracking. Likely just a count on the settings tab of a theme telling you how many members are using it. If we implement a stats page at some point (something I want to do eventually) then there can be a side by side comparison (maybe even with pie charts and stuff).

I also like Lillies. I wanted to vote for it but it wasn't on the list to pick.

I also like Ivy. And I just noticed "Pastels". It's very easy on the eyes, so I just switched to it.
You do a great job here, Moon. I really appreciate all the effort.
Moon rocks. ;D

I'm one who changes my "skin" fairly often. I like variety. Also, one of my favs is the ivy skin which I didn't see in your poll. Generally, I go for pastels because I don't want the skin to be moe prominent than the postings. I'm currently using spring rain which I really like. The exceptions to non-pastels are the special occasion skins.

I just hope that with all the people voting for the five they like, I don't lose the one I use in the thinning process.

I like the Ivy as well but didnt see that one as a choice.
My main thing when choosing a skin is it's ease of reading. Some of the colors hurt my eyes and others dont offer enough contrast.
I cant use any of the Vskins. they lock me up.

I only found 10. But either way, both it and Lilies are "safe". I'm looking at anything with 4 votes or less. So, at the moment that affects Blue 3D Bubbles Fairly Purple Gray Stone ** Grayish Green ** Linen ** Mauve Monochrome Pale Blue Monochrome Tan Peaceful Vista Pig Skin Tan Cream Gradient ** Peaceful Vista (modified) would also be on the list, but that was created by someone other than Virgil or I. So, I think it fair to leave it. I may not get rid of the ones with 4 votes (noted with ** ) right away. May re-vamp a few instead. Not really sure yet.

Moon-which skin is easiest on the eyes/easiest to read without frills. I currently use Monochrome Pale Blue which is pretty clean.
Thanks

If you want something with a light/white background in the text area, and very little color or distraction around the border, try VSilver, Tenn. It's VERY easy on the eyes, light, and 'no frills'.

Tenn already knows this, but Monochrome Pale Blue has been modified a bit, and now looks like this: Monochrome Pale BlueAnd I have replaced Fairly Purple with this one (at Ice's request) Purple Flowers

Can we please, please, please have monochrome tan back. It was so easy on my eyes and did not have any background pictures.

Sharon, that one only had ONE vote. Are there none of the others like monochrome blue, or the new moss that work for you? I added the cloth screenshot here as well. Apparently I forgot to last night.
I may do one more that's pretty plain but i doubt i'll redo that specific skin. is it the color itself you like, or just that it's plain?

I like that it is plain and it is so dull that it does not seem to reflect light and cause eye strain. I am always setting my system colors to browns and tans because of the ease on my eyes.

the monochrome tan wasn't being used often enough to keep it, and to be honest, creating a skin just for one person defeats the purpose of trying to get rid of some. so, it is under protest that i did this one. i hope it will work. Tan

I'm using the cloth skin. I really like it cause it's plain, plus I like the thread colors.
