Too many skins! Please tell us what you use.

Hey you guys. I have realized that we have a TON of different skins on here. I'd really like to delete some but I have no way of knowing which ones aren't being used. Please tell me what your top 5 choices are, and I'll go from there.

If you didn't even know we HAD skins, and would like to use one, click the Profile button at the top of your page. Click the Modify Profile link, then scroll down until you see the Account Preferences > Select Skin dropdown. Make your choice, then click the Modify Profile button at the very bottom.

I will add screenshots of what the choices are in the next post or three. I did not include Eggs and Lilies in the poll choices as they're meant to be seasonal. However, the Lilies doesn't have to be- if people like it, it can be a 'regular'.

I really like it and can see it well, but the figure in the bottom left corner has to be below the message box before I can type ... for that reason I have been thinking about going back to the blue skin I had originally.

That's how it works in Chicago, too. As long as those 5 votes are for the right candidate.

Well, I was using rain on glass. I have used fall leaves in the past. I had a different one for Christmas (don't remember which one it was).

I voted for the two I mentioned above, then looked at the skins pictures and changed it to mountain Peaceful Vista (modified). (Fixed I am getting old...couldn't remember exactly what it was called)

I use the ones that have the white/light gray text area because they're easier on the eyes and less strain when reading... Those include (Pink Roses, VUncia, VSilver, ScottishLassie, and the SilverOrnaments that we had for Christmas)

I like the new Lilies Skin. I use as well, but it wasn't on the list is the Ivy Skin. I also use Pink Roses, VMoonlight, VUnica & VSilver.

Wow. Do people change their skin as often as they (hopefully) change their underwear? I will change it for a holiday since there is always something new and cool (thanks moon) but then go back to my usual. (I only make this comment because I am amazed.)

I change mine often, yes. That's part of why we have so many. Also, I've refined my skin making since when I started. I think the newer ones are much better - though not on Virgil's level, of course. The other reason we have so many is because I'm trying to cater to a large variety of tastes.. Some very simple, some not, some feminine, some more masculine (or at least neutral). But I need to pare the list down somehow! lol.

When I was in the Navy (a long time ago), at one point I took over sending out reports from the Naval Reserve Center I was stationed at. I was handed a file box with over a hundred cards for different reports. I went through and found about 15 that I knew were really important and did those when they came due. All the rest I waited until I got a notification of non-receipt before I would do it. After a year, the box was down to about 35 cards.

So moon, here is my idea: disable all the skins except the ones you like/use. Add back in the ones that you get a few loud complaints/requests concerning.

Unfortunately, it's not that simple. They either exist, or they don't.

So any I delete, I would have to do it all over from scratch if I wanted them back. That means noting all the colors I chose, urls to the background images, etc.

I think I can turn themes on and off in the NEW version whenever it gets released but that's going to be a while. "sometime in 2012" is all they are saying.

VSilver is my favorite because it's easy on the eyes and never gives me a headache. The list SL made as her favorites would also be my choices. But if VSilver goes away the mods will hear some serious whining!

I use the Lilies skin. I swap them up. I also like tan cream gradient..., mauve, linen and beige1

None of Virgil's skins are being considered for removal. I am thinking some of my earlier skins..

I hate the mauve one, for instance.
