Carl, What is your diet plan? what are you eating/not eating? How much weight are you trying to lose? and are you exercising? And why is there a fist involved? What fist? Diet plan: -> High protein, low carb/fat Diet What am I eating/not eating -> trying to keep it clean at about 2,500-3,00 calories and cut from there. Doesn't help that I had 2 cookies earlier. Weight trying to lose? -> don't have a particular target, untill I am lean/shredded I guess Workout regiment: -> Currently stuck in a hotel till I find an apartment and their equipment is what I would call below impressive. So I am guessing high reps and mostly cardio

Methinks you cut too fast. After consuming whatever and whenever, the easiest way to begin a better nutrition plan is step by step and to cut the sugar first. Review the fats you are taking in and switch them to better quality. Look at your bread/pasta carbs and switch to 100% whole wheat. The 100% whole wheat is used better by the body or so I heard on Dr. Oz.
Tracking the food you take in with the calories will give you a good picture of what you are doing and you don't have to remember.
If you consume something like the 2 cookies, it's okay so don't beat yourself up. It's the size of the cookies that is the problem.
Eating out siince you are in a motel probably doesn't help. If you have a fridge, get some wholesome groceries like greek yogurt, salad and low cal. salad dressing. A small can of chicken on salad greens is a meal. A 100 calorie snack bar in greek yogurt is breakfast.
Push ups, sit ups and run in place can be done anywhere. The various planks are great for the core, are quick and use little space.
Best wishes. We will expect updates. These are life long health choices that you are making. Choices that are sustainable and will become easy.

I like my current size but my wife thinks its a bit to big. So goal is to get to about 185 just for this summer and see if I like it. If I don't I plan on going back to between 215-225 lbs . I just can't wait to get into a real gym and start lifting some real weights.

I am not really stressing over the cookies; just being a bit dramatic. Being at a hotel actually makes me dieting easier, my wife is an amazing cook so it is hard to be strict around her. Goal is follow strict diet for 5 days and carb reload when I go home. I track my calories thru www.fitday.com Only issue is I am somewhat of a musclehead so being stuck with the hotel equipment only doinbg high reps is frustrating. And I am really not a cardio type person, hate cardio to say the least.

Good luck in finding another gym soon! I toured a Planet Fitness (and later joined) and the guy was telling me the free weights only went up to 60 pounds to discourage muscleheads. I almost busted out laughing bc I had this sudden image of you lifting weights and grunting lol.

Miss Margarita: I am staying in a hotel room with a fridge and microwave, so cannot really do any cooking. So basically been salads and some frozen chicken or already prepared chicken.
Today hunger is in check, for me the first day is usually the worst. By Day 7 it's nothing. As for gym, I am still looking into it. There is one off main street that I've been wanting to look into and see what they have to offer. They have a YMCA but not a lot of weights
Wvugurl26: yep, Planet Fitness is definitely not for me. They don't allow any squatting or deadlifting, and they both are a must in my training. Also as you witness, they weights only go up to 60 lbs or so.
But I am happy you thought of me lol!

Ooohhhh Archie!!! MissMargarita yes, second day is better. On my diets I usually drink about 6L of water a day, so running to the bathroom all the time is getting a bit annoying but besides that ok. Hunger/craving is less than yesterday and drinking a protein shake while typing this. Going to get some cardio in tonight before bed, chicken and salad is the meal for tonight and looking forward to it. But yeah till I find a gym, cardio and some light training (thinking high reps). But yeah that's it.

MM they advertise that they are not for serious weightlifters. They sponsor Biggest Loser. And I am most definitely not going to need weights over that amount so I'm ok. I'm pretty sure the machines go up to higher weights.
I like the unlimited tanning. I can't buy a tanning package anywhere for $19.99/month. And I get visitor privileges at any location which is great for when I go home or on the road for work. I must say my one at home is way bigger than my one in MD.
I needed access to cardio stuff mainly. The weights they have are fine for me. I could see where serious gym rats might not like it. For me the price is right and the visitor thing is a huge benefit for me. I can also take in a friend every day to the one here in MD.

In regars to Planet Fitnets, there are ridiculous. I went into one and they made me remove my gallon of water since it is not allowed on the workout floor, no grunting, no bandanas or hats, etc.
They are a "no judgement zone" so no muscle heads allowed. The funny thing is the muscle heads I know are way too self centered to bother judging others in the gym. We go in and we focus on ourselves and go for it.
You have to google their commercials. If a gym did that and instead of muscle heads used "no fat people" allowed, they would have a law suit on their hands.

Yep no gallon jugs, no hats and so on. I guess if any of that applied to me I'd be annoyed. I'm just starting to get endurance and breathing capacity back I lost to a lengthy battle with allergies so I'm not too worried about their rules. If anyone is judging me in the gym well they can kiss my ass.
There's a crossfit gym close to me but it is like $65/month and that doesn't fit my budget right now.

They do have the cellphone thing too. I thought I was going to die tonight! Their ac sucks monkey balls. They have these teeny little fans way up in the ceiling. The one back home has the high ceilings but they have some huge fans. Course it was also 40 outside last time I was home.

Did not get back to my hotel room till 8 pm, by the time I ate dinner etc, got to their gym at about 9 pm. Did some light leg and abs workout and half hour cardio. Nothing to write home about.
So far (only 8:30 am) day 3 is going well.

And why is there a fist involved? What fist? Diet plan: -> High protein, low carb/fat Diet What am I eating/not eating -> trying to keep it clean at about 2,500-3,00 calories and cut from there. Doesn't help that I had 2 cookies earlier. So I am guessing high reps and mostly cardio Although a little pricey to buy the dvd package . .. try P90X, it's a great workout system, and you can use it in hotels as the equipment is a chin up bar, some hand weights or those tension rope things that are sold at different weights. Everyday you work out a different thing. There are three different programs to choose from. The entire set has all the workout dvd's needed, a diet plan and a website you can use to talk to other people who are also in the program that can help you out. I had tried other diet plans and workout plans before this one. This is the only one that has worked for me . . . I don't get bored with it.

sometimes hotels are "affiliated" or have deals with a local gym and peeps staying at the hotel can go to the gym for free....I asked once and I got to go to the local Gold's for free (but sometimes they don't, it's been about a 50 -50 success every time I have travelled for work)
what else I have is a set of power block dumb bell weights ( kind of similar to bowflex dumbeblls). They cost some money, but don't take up much space in your house / car / hotel room or whatever...so if you are travelling by car from home to your hotel, than you can pack them in the car and take them with you, and then once you are settled, they are handy around the house for days when you can't make it to the gym and stuff.
good luck, I am trying to drop some weight too, I went a bit too crazy with eating too much in order to try to intentionally "add" muscle in the winter and I ended up added a bunch of fat too (way too much) and its not dropping as fast as my last attempt...but I have lost 10 lbs since Jan 4....
.....so keep on keeping on brother.....also hate to be a downer, but you do know there is a lot of sodium in restaurant food, boxed food, etc....and even though total calories may not be too bad, you may have a lot of sodium causing water retention and stuff....
again good luck, hope some of this helps

Yeah, but where the H is the fat he is supposed to be losing? He looks like pure muscle. I think he said that is the "old" picture when his wife thought he looked "better" I think now he is a bit heavier than that?

Hey guys,
Just finish eating dinner and watching tv till I can hit the gym in the hotel. Diet today is so so.
In those pictures (last september) I was about 225-230 and went on a bulk during winter time. I need to access a scale but I am guessing I am seating at 250-260 or so now.
I am perfectly happy with my current size to be honest (big, black, intimitading) but my wife thinks it a bit too big. So I figure if I am going to cut might as well go all th way, so goal is about 180-185 lbs and single digit bodyfat.
I have both P90X and Insanity, just need to get them back from my cousin in NJ. Thanks for reminding me, I won them thru fitness competitions at work last year.
Also fixed the spelling, it is now "first" lol! As for the local gym already checked, they don't have one. As for diiet, I am not going to start being to nit picky till I get my apartment up here and have a full functional kitchen, so about June. Till then, I am going to do my best with what I got, sodium and all.
So 2 1/2 months or so. Tonight: back/chest with cardio

I never did get Insanity. that explains the poses in the pictures. lol
Big and intimidating works especially if you're married to tiny, mischievious, smart mouthed little sprite for a wife. I'll have to say it's kind of nice when you're backed into a wall and your husband stands behind you and you say to angry person . . . Have you met my husband?

Miss Margarita I really hate cardio but understand that if I want to reach single digits I am just going to have to deal with it and put my hatred aside for now. LOL! Just took pictures now in the hotel to give you guys an idea of starting point. Besides the extra lbs in the waist (gut) I am happy with my current stats. I am more towards size/strength which is why I am into powerlifting ; but going to try to make the wife happy. We both agree if I hate being so small I am going to go back towards 200 or so, keeping it in check 225 being the max; so we are both happy.

I wish my wife saw it that way lol, if it was up to her I would be 145lbs soak and wet. My biggest worry with cutting is losing strength which is why I am itching to find a gym. Also trying to get back to boxing, but not sure I will be able to find a boxing studio around here. And yeah Insanity is indeed insane, had me sweating bullets!
