now I am stuck! and constantly thinking in circles! I got an offer from my Electronic shop to purchase my show car at a time when I am mechanically frustrated right NOW! it's a 15 year old car yes - but I know what's wrong with it and just frustrated with having to put money into it to keep it running right! well keep it running GREAT actually!! that's just to keep it running! not to mention the tens of thousands of dollars to keep up with entering competitions! so if I sell it do I purchase another project car? very doubtful! if I keep it I will have to continue to put money into it that I rather not! so if I sell it I could save so much money! if I keep it makes me happy when I drive and running great and I can enter more competitions - but I know I will not win. Hmmm.....
You just figuring this out now.

Hmmm..... This makes zero sense. You have a 15 y/o car that constantly needs money poured into it and you received an offer from someone wanting to buy it and take it off your hands.
I assume this is the same car (with the illegal lights and tinted windows) that you also keep getting tickets for - which costs you even more money.
You don't want to spend "tens-of-thousands" of dollars to enter it in shows that you never win (which is 10x the value of the car), but...
Then you think you should keep it since it makes you happy to drive (when it's running great) and you can spend even more money on it to enter it in shows (that you never win.
The car's a piece of metal - it's 15 years old - the most you'd probably get with a trade-in is about $1000 to $1500 - if you're lucky. And all that illegal stuff on it makes it even less desirable as a resale car.

I'm not sure what you mean - or if this is supposed to be funny? I don't find any humor in your comment!

I suggest the same advise to you!

For your information, Z - two of my brothers build custom rods and show cars that they have won awards for at World Of Wheels and other International car exhibitions. I know more about cars than you can imagine - I do my own maintenance on my own vehicle - I learned from the best.

Before we get into a battle here:
Sometimes, Zaire, people here know more than we might realize they know. Additionally, you provide a humongous amount of information about yourself. Some of that information is contradictory (like you've said you never win at car shows, but are now saying the car is an award-winner). Contradictory information is confusing and it will lead to comments. You can bet on it. If you put it out here, Zaire, it's open to comment. If it doesn't make sense to someone, they can say it doesn't make sense. Personal insults aren't allowed, but people ARE allowed to disagree with you and they are allowed to question you about confusing information provided. I hope that makes sense to you.

Scottish Lassie made a comment stating she was confused regarding my comment I made a reply her comment is confusing to me. ok I'll rephrase - I have NOT made first place but plenty of 2nd and 3rd place winning! Hence award -winning

There was no personal insult. I didn't indicate there was one. What I said was said to avoid any further bickering, Zaire. The first line tells you that.

I said and will repeat: Scottish Lassie you claim to be a Zaire expert by posting my history in just about every thread. I said in previous comments you - Scottish Lassie do not have and enter car shows. no mention of your brothers. since I post so much information about myself you already know of the trophy and plaques and seen the pictures I've posted in the past. The Avatar I had for a few months of me holding my award!

I'm not the least bit confused by your post. But if you think I don't know anything about cars, you're sadly mistaken, Zaire. . That's why I know you're throwing good money after bad & pouring it into this 15 year old heap - it doesn't even qualify as a classic. Plus it has all that illegal sh*t on it that you keep getting tickets for (dark tinted windows, illegal lights, tires, etc).
Have to been to car shows with REAL show cars? Custom rods & rails? This is the type of car my brothers build - they've been doing it for 25 years - and when I was younger I was in the garage covered in grease helping them prep for a show. I learned a lot from them. Don't tell me I dont' know what I'm talking about.
One of my brothers has a 49 Dodge 2-door coupe that was my grandfather's' (fully restored to factory condition that's currently in storage that goes on road-runs & car shows annually.
And another has a 64 Chevy 2-door SuperSport show car - as well as a '34 Dodge customized rod.

Those aren't my brothers'. I was just using a pic from the web to give an example. The SuperSport my brother customized is black, the '34 dodge is a rod (metallic blue).
Their cars have been on the International World of Wheels circuit (both USA and Canada)... and one brother is curently working on his next rod.
He also owns a Fiero that gets entered in shows... like this, only red.

As soon as you said "World of Wheels" and "other International Car Exhibitions" I knew what you are referring to Scottish Lassie. That car class has NOTHING to do with the car class I enter. Scottish Lassie you continuously and I think intentionally twist my history. now you claim you know about car shows? Then you should know, like I know, my car class as I have JUST said is a custom car class. NOT some Hot Rod car class! I enter Import Custom Car shows! Cars that are shown in the movie franchise The Fast and The Furious! So again as I said you don't know and not interested.

I'm not about to enter into a battle of wits with you Zaire. Import car show? What is the make of your import car? Believe me - I know more about cars than you think - so this isn't a trick question.

I already said that is a picture like my brother's Fiero - and that his is Red. That isn't his car - it's just a pic of the model of one of the many cars he owns. (as is the other pic I posted).
You're arguing with the wrong person, Zaire. I know more about cars (especially rods/rails and show-cars than you can possibly imagine. Do you think just because I'm a female, I can't know a piston from a spark plug? I do my own maintenance on my car - I've helped them build their award winning rods. I've been under the hood working on engines - in the paint bays when they've been stripped down, primed and re-painted.

SL, I've never been to the car shows Z frequents, but I'm pretty sure in the show car class he likes has to be the one where tinted windows, various colored lighting on the bottom of the car, etc. is
the point. The cars usually have very vivid paint jobs from what I remember. Not finding the images I want online, but the still in the video should be from a similar car class that Z would compete in. It is the Japanese tuner scene. video.search.yahoo.com/search/video?p=japanese+show+tuner+cars

ok this is turning into trouble and my red flags are flying your comments above Scottish Lassie contain several misunderstandings that you are intentionally stating or you are misreading my comments and is also going into a direction that I have not intended. I have no idea where your question of being a woman and knowledge about cars is coming from. it appears that you are getting offended. <<insert being blonde joke here>>

Video wouldn't post. I'll try again.
The only car that I think would be in Z's car class is the image for the video and the car is shown briefly at roughly 1:13 in.

I know all about show cars with tinted windows, special lighting and custom paint-jobs, Opti. I've already said that. My family's very much involved in car shows and exhibits. Zaire's car, from his previous posts, is just some ordinary car that he's put illegal running lights and headlights on, tinted the windows, and has the wrong sized tires opn (based on his previous posts). It's not a street-legal car, which is why he keeps getting tickets and citations. It's only 15 years old, so it doesn't even qualify as "Classic" in International shows.
He says it's an import car - but hasn't said what make/model it is. Even Toyota's might be classed as "import", but they're also made in the good old US of A.

I've seen the movie - more than once. I've also seen 2 Fast 2 Furious (the sequel). You still haven't said what make/model your show car is.

Street Legal cars go through state inspections. My Show car passes my New Jersey State inspections and I drive it on the streets and highways. and I have posted several times what my Show car is - so Scottish Lassie what is your question?
