No CVS gift card deals this weekend. I really don't see anything at all that I want. I need to restock laundry soap and shampoo/conditioner, so I hope something comes along soon. Tomorrow will be two weeks in a row that they are not offering any CVS cash cards. I wonder if they are discontinuing the program. They had it this week at my store and the Woolite was part of it

YEAH!!! I'm proud of myself I did 2 CVS trips, 2 Walgreens trips and 1 trip to Smiths today. I spent $184.69 with saving of $159.07 so I saved 86%!! and I also came home with $7 ecb's $1 rr's and am sending in 3 rebates that will total $41. I finally did it!! I finally did the exact numbers and feel pretty proud.

Marvholly: Sorry about your dad, too. My DH always says if he didn't have rotten luck, he wouldn't have any luck at all.
Dancin: Yes, I'm a teacher and have devoted my whole career at my school. I can get on DH's insurance after mine runs out and I will get unemployment compensation. My heart isn't in the job search yet. I have to pack up 25 years worth of stuff and find room for it here. I don't have it as bad as another younger teacher who has 4 little ones. I'm trying to help her out with my stockpile to tide her over.
Leanna: Yes, the stress level has been awful. We all knew our heads were on the chopping block this year because enrollment was so low. I ended up going to the doctor and now am on high blood pressure medicine. I've never had high blood pressure in my life. I'm sure the stress contributed to that.
On a brighter note, I saved $17.00 in gas using my Kroger fuel points and got gas for $2.84 a gallon. I also did some quick transactions at CVS, the candy and Glade deal. I had some great rainchecks and coupons to use. I spent $1.59 and $6.00 ECB and went away with several candy bars and $26.00 ECBs on 3 cards. I got my $5.00 beauty ECB from the Olay last week. At Meijers I bought 3 Heluva dips and 2 Chi Chi salsas for $.62 and got a $3.00 cat back. Dollar General saved me $20.00 after I spent $8.00. So all in all, not a bad hounding day.

The last few weeks have been pretty rough. I found out that I won't have a job next year since our school is downsizing. I've never been out of work in my life and I've worked since I was a teenager. To go through the whole process of resumes and job hunting seems insurmountable. I didn't even know there was a special type of resume paper. And my dad's been in and out of the hospital so I'm trying to deal with that too. My family and friends have been very supportive and I know I will get through all of this. I am so thankful for having a generous stockpile. My DH even said, "At least we won't starve." And I'm also thankful for this board that shares so wonderfully with their ideas, deals and coupons. rubyslippers: Could it be that you got notice because schools are required to give them out at this time of year? I have read about many school district employees being given notice and then continuing to work after all. Could that be a slim possibility? Are you a teacher or do you work on the administrative end? If you're a teacher, perhaps you could get Cobra for insurance and substitute teach until you find something more permanent. In any case, you know that we'll all be here supporting you in any way that we can. This happens to my teacher friend every year and they keep hiring her back. I hope you will be as lucky. Still, it,s stressful, especially w your dad,s health. But you will get there one step at a time. (and don,t worry about special resume paper, I think most resumes are sent online now anyway.) good luck!!!

Dancin The CVS cash card program was scheduled to end when it did. Not seeing any talk about any replacement or when. Wonder if CVS ‘thinks’ they have it made after getting ExpressScripts Rx program away from WAG and they don’t NEED to do anything now. Suspect that will turn out to be VERY shortsighted but I have never thought corp marketing suites were very bright.

25 YEARS?? I am so sorry Ruby Slippers, it seems like after devoting your life for that long to some place, you'd have some type of job security. Is the entire school closing?
As far as the high blood pressure. I agree that it can be job related. I also have never had it before. Last year it was so high that the dentist said she wouldn't treat me again if I didn't go to the doctor for it. I am confident it is job related. Since I work right next door to the fire dept I can get it checked frequently while I'm working. Also borderline high when I'm at work. Then I have it checked after I've been off for a couple days, and amazingly it is back to normal.

There is a misprint in my CVS ad with the free Easter candy. It says that the limit on the Snickers/Mars eggs is (1) and on the jelly beans it's (2), but the EBs for the second jelly bean didn't print.
On my mom's card I tried doing the Snickers/Mars deal twice and the jelly beans once and it went through slick as snot.

Too bad. I loved getting GCs instead of EBs.

WHO SAID THEIR CVS ACCEPTS EXPIRED EBs?
Someone was recently talking about their CVS accepting expired EBs. Mine did too, but today I wanted to use a $1 EB (expired) and the gal said CORPORATE said absolutely not....no more accepting expired EBs. So whoever it was, if you would let me know whether or not your store is still accepting them, I'd appreciate it. Not that I'm going to say a word at my store, but I want to know if they are blaming corporate for something that was a district decision or if it was really corporate that cut it off.
THANKS ;D

Morning all! I had a great shopping trip yesterday! I got Mozz and riccotta cheese, carrots, lettuce, tomatoes, apples, bananna, grapes, 8 bx ritz crackers, 14 yogurts, 2 9volt batteries, napkins, a 12 lb ham and finally a 3.5 lb lobster. Total before coupons was $137.04, after coupons my final total was $61.17. Ruby sorry to hear about your problems! I hope everything works out for you. Marvholly sorry to hear about your dad.

Dancin I would check your expired ECB question over at a full cup and/or hot doupon world. I do several favors (bring him ads for GREAT grocery stores he does not normally get, warn him of GREAT upcoming CVS sales, tell him about great/free fast food & resturaunt desls.....) for my fav CVS store mgr and he does take mine as does the rest of the staff.

CVS question. As part of the 3 day sale the ad lists M&M's B1G1Free. I got a CVS coupon for $1 off 2 bags of seasonal M&M's from the red machine. Can I use it with the sale even though the 2nd bag is free?

I guess I always come here first, but HCW would certainly be a larger sampling of people. With all the new couponers out there, I can't say that I'm really surprised. Our district took both expired EBs and CRTs. The good news is that now I can get rid of several stacks of expired CRTs. I didn't use the CRTs that often, but occasionally they made for a really sweet deal.

In addition, I got a $1/2 Seasonal M&Ms CRT yesterday that doesn't expire until 4/1. I haven't put a deal together myself, but if you have the Qs, that's $4 off your $10 and you'd definitely get $2 back on the M&Ms. If you need other Easter candy and have other coupons for it (Nestle or Wonka for the 3/25 RP), it might be a cheaper way to go to wait.

rubyslippers: So sorry about your job stress. Do you not have seniority after 25 years? Here in Calif. I believe they would have to move you to another school (if you have tenure). It's called bumping rights.
I had a $10 Rite Aid UP that had to be spent by 4/25 so here's what I did:
1 12 pack Simply 2 ply toilet paper: $8.49 3 American Greeting cards: $5.96 1 Optic White toothbrush: $3.49
Minus: $3 RA Simply tp 12 pk $2 VV American greeting cards q $3 VV Optic White tb q $1 Optic White man q (3/11 or 3/18 SS, I believe) $10 UP
Total OOP: $1.61 ($1.26 was tax)
No UPs back but there really wasn't anything I need giving back UPs.
I miss folks posting their actual deals. That always helped me a lot.
I did receive my rebate for the recall of Exedrin products: $25 plus change. Since I paid just tax on those things, that was pure profit. Also got the $10 gas card from Kellogg's. Gave it to DD2 who is the poor student. She has to drive across the bridge for her rotation that begins today so that's extra gas and toll. I'm letting her use my fastrak pass. Told her she needs to remember all this when I'm old and decrepit! ;D She said she plans on buying a house with a mother in law unit because she'll need me to "hound" for her.

Thanks for the heads up jeep. I have a J4U price of 1.38 for AA large grade eggs and with this Q doubled, 2 dozen eggs comes to 1.76 for me.

So I made my way out to CVS as I am really not good with delayed gratification. I got 2 of the seasonal M&Ms they rang up M&M $4.19 M&M $0.00 Minus $1 CRT Minus $1.50 MC (From 2/4 exp 3/25 but my store still took it) For a final total of $1.69 which I paid for most with an ECB. Truthfully that is less than a normal size bag of M&Ms that DH buys to eat in the car so I am happy iwth the deal and happy that all my Easter candy is bought and stashed away with plenty of time to spare. Thanks everyone!

I am sure that it is very much a YMMV but I HTH

p8nt: No, our school isn't closing yet but enrollment is down too much. I wasn't the only one let go and next year there might be another job reduction.
Murpath: I am not in the public school system. At my school seniority isn't an advantage.
Dancin: I haven't used an expired ECB at CVS in a while, but mine always went through. I've even been able to use an expired MQ if it is used before they send out the entire load of coupons used for the week.
Thanks for the egg coupon tip. I can get 2 dozen eggs at Rite Aid for $.33 after using my last $2.00 in UPs with my 20% discount and the $.55/2 coupon.
Did anyone else get the Jello, marshmallow, Stovetop and Cool Whip MQ's yesterday? Meijer has buy 4 Jello and get free strawberries this week. I think I can get all 5 of them for $.72 after doubling 2 of the coupons. There is also a good catalina on the heluva dips and there were IPQ's available for $.50.

Who knew it would be such a good day for hounding? I got (12) boxes of Snack Well's cereal bars (5 per box) for 2/$.25 after Nob Hill's ecoupon and MC. I was pretty excited about that one cuz I only get good deals at Nob Hill maybe 3 or 4 times a year.
I also got some free batteries at Staples. They'll send me an in-store voucher for the cost of the batteries. Hopefully, they'll have another good deal on something to spend it on by the time I get it.
Total coupon savings for this quarter with just a couple of days left is $578....not bad for not really "playing hard".
