Update: 9 NS Days and 5 CS Days
Sapphire -- Thanks. The allergy pills have begun their work and I do feel much better. I will continue on them for several more weeks until all of the major danger is pass. Currently, everything is beginning to bloom in the area so their is a lot of pollen in the air.
MK and azmom -- Take care of yourself so that you can take care of others.
3cats -- Try to get some sleep. I have been working on less sleep some this week myself and look forward to the weekend when I plan some much needed R & R. Of course I will be spending several hours in front of the computer correcting projects and tests as well.
Honey -- Fingers cross that everything works out for you.
MizBear -- I agree with the others to be very careful about any decisions about DB sharing a living space with you. I think once you let him in you will be stuck with him forever. I think you have enough on your plate as it is without adding additional stress to your life.
dakota -- I would check out the battery lights ones. They will achieve the extra lighting that you want without the additional cost of rewiring the entire room. You can then start saving for the rewiring for the future. Besides you might decide that the job that they do is sufficient and you can do without the other for several years. Honey (2) -- I have lost several long comment posts recently so I can relate with your angst. I have begun doing a series of cont-A and cont-C so that I can try to recover as much of the lost ones as possible. For this one I have already used that procedure several times. That way I may only have to cont-V to recover my thoughts since I often can't remember what I responded to and what I didn't.
This has been a busy week for me with several visits with friends plus the opportunity to see the play Lion King which is now playing in NO. Had my ticket for months and really enjoyed the break from my normal routine. It also means less sleep for that night so I will be sleeping in a little later this weekend.

13/15 NSD
Mizbear--be very careful about a contract with DB. Check your state eviction laws and landlord laws. In some states just getting some mail at your address is enough to make him a "resident" at that address, and then makes it almost impossible to get him out at any future time.
I am so excited. Tomorrow i am going to "the city" for lunch and some shopping. I haven't been out of town since early November. We will see how much I allow myself to spend
Honey--I agree with Mizbear!!!

Wow, what an intense day. In the middle of writing an article about how long term relationships can pay off months or years later I was contacted by a colleague who wanted to hire me. And one short phone call later and she's sending me my fee via PayPal! Exciting! Another piece of fantastic news today was the invitation to write a series for Forbes Women! Another CSD, since I almost burned down my kitchen I resigned my food making abilities for a night and bought a taco with my cash

I am beginning to resign myself to the idea that DB is just bad news. Maybe being stuck in a 1 BR with DM is not so bad as having to put up with his antics if I have a bigger place.

startsmart - congrats! lots of good stuff coming your way!!
I have two more proofreading tests to do, which will hopefully lead to two more clients. I already added two last week, just waiting for my first projects from each of them!! Cold calling really does work sometimes...
Excited for our St. Pat's party tomorrow. Figured rather than fighting to get in somewhere, we'd have people over. Making shortbread and meat pies and scones yumyum!!

Update: 10/15 NSDs
I seem to be too busy to spend money except on the days when my husband and I are both off work. He is a spending machine. It's frustrating, but it's not hurting us and we are still making our goals.
Mizbear, you sound pretty down this month. Try to take some time to do something to make you happy and forget your family troubles for a little while.
I'm too far behind to catch up with everyone, but it sounds like a lot of you are doing great on your no spending this month.

update; 15 NSD, 1/31 NEO, and $300 in savings. I paid the other 2 bills so no more in savings until the last of the month. I got some sleep and am feeling better but still not up to par. I lost my temper the other night and I haven't done that in the past 20 years. I really need rest and relaxation.

After listening to DB go on a rant about how everyone is so against him and contributing to his problems, DM has decided that not letting him move in is the best thing to do. She has come to the conclusion we would be better to stay in a apartment if necessary rather than deal with him in our own house.
I am going to schedule myself some days of beautifying over the next few months.

today was a spent since I picked out my new phone and ordered the cover I need to protect it. Thankfully I avoided spending at Ikea next door to the phone store and didn't go buy anything else. I've been organizing my jewelry and I'm donating a bunch of it. Working on display for the jewelry I do wear so I can continue to clean out my bathroom. It's probably completely nerdy that I'm making a travel bag and organizing the bathroom but that's me

Update: 10 NS Days and 6 CS Days
Just a quick update. Today was a CS day -- got several needed items only they weren't an immediate need therefore I am counting them as a CS day.
Spent several hours correcting today. Got the stack down to under 100 items. Figured I try to get most of those done at the same time that the two leftover loads of laundry are being washed/dried tomorrow.
Wishing all a good night.

Adding two more NSD's to my tally. I almost spent money for a snack yesterday when I was out with some friends, but instead I brought an apple from home. Healthier and cheaper! So 9 NSD/31 days.

Hi Ladies, I hope you're all doing well. Things with me are, well, not that hot but I'll get over it and move on. Anyway, I'm totally stopping by for selfish purposes. I just started a new blog over the weekend (so there's not much content) and I was hoping, if you're bored enough, that you'd be willing to stop by and share it with your friends. I'm more proud of this than anything I've ever done. I do plan on moving from a free site to a regular one in the next few weeks but I just wanted to get it started so here it is in all it's flawed glory: thejealousyfiles.wordpress.comThanks for reading (if you do). If you don't want to check it out, I completely understand.

Hi ladies! I hope you are all well. I haven't had time to check in the last several days. I am in Michigan on Spring Break with the kids. We traveled up here to say Ciao to our family and friends before we move overseas. It has been one big spend day after another. I DID have $1,000 saved up for the trip. So nothing will be added to our debt. We will be heading back to Kansas on Saturday.
I have to get in the shower and get the kids out of the hotel room. They are about to climb the walls.

Hey all- No additional NS days. We spent Wed- Sun. If gas wasn't so high yesterday would have been an NS, but since I was out by Toys R Us, I decided to stop there and get stuff for mini-D's b-day. I did score a good deal I have to share I got coupons from Victoria's Secret and was able to get 2 pairs of panties for $0.55. (I coupon for a free pair and one $10 off any purchase.)
We went to Omaha for a couple days and had lots of fun swimming in the hotel pool and visiting the Zoo and Children's Museum.
MoneySquirell- Good luck on all the grading.
AZmom- Hugs I hope your sis and the baby are okay.
MrsLynch- I like the new blog. I'm not an editor, but it is a cute idea.
Bear- I definitely would steer clear of having DB live with you, that sounds like a recipe for disaster.
3cats- Good job on the savings. Hope as spring comes you feel better.
Renee- Happy Birthday!
Red- How was the St. Pat party
Financial Peace= A lot of us have spender spouses and can relate. I don't count his spending against my goals here.
Rocky- Good job on the NS.
Start- Sounds like things are going well. When do you get to see Blue Eyes ;D. Also I noticed you did a project where you used chalkboard paint on glass jars. how are they holding up and does the chalk get smudged everytime you use the jar?

mrslynch - cute idea for a blog! And I'm with you! Target is a dangerous place for me!
dakota - the party was fun, if a bit smaller than planned. A friend was sick so she and her husband didn't come, and another friend and her date were caught up at a rehearsal for their show, so they didn't make it. Lots of yummy leftovers though! Very proud of how my various recipes came out (shortbread will become a staple at my house I think). Oh, and girls FINALLY beat guys in Trivial Pursuit. That was pretty awesome.
So ladies, I have some good news (and this MUST stay here, no posting anything even hinting on FB please): I got a positive pregnancy test today! Hoping for a healthy 9 months without problems, and appreciate any positive baby juju you can send my way. It's a risky thing because of my illness so I'm just hoping that stays quiet and lets baby grow in peace. I'm very excited, though, just trying to stay realistic. Purple_wagon is on the way! Time to play with budgets again lol.
azmom - sending prayers your sister's way.

Update: 11 NS Days and 7 CS DaysQuick drive by to say hello and to update my totals. Today was another busy day so what else is new. Was able to mail off both fed and state tax forms so that is off my to do list. I did manage to catch up on my grading this weekend -- only have late turned in items to do whenever they show up. All of my projects have to be submitted digitally and sometimes the computers have issues. (I sometimes think it is because I am dealing with pre-teens.) Have quite a few days of reading to catch up on. Good night all.

CONGRATS REDWAGON!!!!!!
I'm so excited for you (and a little jealous, but my time will come one of these days). I know you have been preparing for this for a long time and were hoping it would happen quickly. I keep up on reading the kid/pregnancy thread even though I don't have a reason to post much over there yet. I smiled so big when I read your news. How did Blue wagon react?

Hey all! Sat we had a St Patty's Day party and had a blast. We even brought out a puzzle and just laughed about lots of things.
On a bad note I have hives from something. They are not in my throat but I would like them to leave!
Had a wonderful spring break with the kids. DS#1 and #2 didn't have school today since it was the end of the quarter so I took DS#1 and DD to a different zoo and conservatory. Then it was so beautiful and I had packed a cooler we had a picnic. After that went to Walmart for waffles for DS#2 since they are cheapest there, somehow $8.50 cost turned into $50 but I bought some craft things, bandaids, hoodie, and winter clearance gloves and hats. It will all go to good use. Kids were great and had a blast.
Glad most are doing well. I will check in again tomorrow.

10 NSD/31 days. I had to buy gas for the truck yesterday, but I don't count that in my spending. It's more like utilities! I thought I'd spend for lunch at work, but instead I remembered I still had a gift card that I received last month from a friend. So I'm still averaging 50% NSD's, woo-hoo!

It's too darn convenient, I always think of other things I need/want. I've learned not to stroll through the store. In & out by the most direct route I can find.

financialpeace - thanks so much. I understand the jealousy, and hope you get your BFP soon too!! I am really grateful it happened quickly, because the less time off my meds the better. Blue_wagon had just been rudely awoken from a sound sleep so it took him a minute to process it, but he was smiley and said he probably wouldn't get much work done. He's eager to have it confirmed by a doctor because he doesn't totally trust the little sticks, even though three have been positive (today was even darker line! woo!). I'm not sure he was prepared for it to happen right away lol. But I'm so excited to see him as a dad. From day one he's been very vocal about wanting kids and he's great with his cousins' kids and our niece and nephew.
mitten - laughter is always good!! Sorry about the hives. That really stinks.
Yesterday was a spend as I went grocery shopping for this week's meals. Today will be a spend as I think we are buying me a new laptop so I can do my freelance work on the train. My netbook can't handle acrobat. The netbook will become the computer for our outdoor speakers and will still technically be mine if I want to bring it with me to my parents or whatever. It's been a good computer, went with us on our honeymoon and all, but i need something with a bit more juice and space.

redwagon, it's awesome that you didn't have to spend months and months trying for that little bean! Although I'd imagine that it'll throw a kink into the budget and savings by happening so soon! Kids are expensive little buggers! ETA: At least you'll get to claim the baby as a dependent in 2012 if he/she's born before 12/31! That's what I was -- my parents' little tax deduction, born on 12/29.

Rocky - haha I was hoping to squeak a baby in in 2012 for the tax deduction. Due date is estimated as 11/26, so it'll be a turkey baby! And we've been planning for this for a year so I think we'll be okay. Just time to ramp up savings a bit and pay off a credit card or two. We're already refinancing our mortgage to free up some money in the monthly budget, and with DH's recent raise and my raise coming in September we are hopefully good. Our families are probably going to go over the top and furnish the nursery so I don't anticipate much costs there, other than taking out the carpet and putting in the hardwood floor (snap and lock). It's a tiny room so that shouldn't cost too much. We have 9 months to figure it all out! I'm lucky in that I get three months paid leave, and my company covers me 100% for prenatal and l&d costs, so we don't need to worry about that stuff. Feeling pretty confident but I'm sure I'll discover snags along the way!!
