You never did tell us what shave day is.
You've got your thread title a little hosed up. It should probably be "My package is mostly garbage".

I do 5 reps x 5 of each exercise. I started with a 15 lb bar with no weights added. Now I do a 15lb bar with 32lbs on it. The goal is a 15lb bar with ~70lbs on it.

MM It's called stronglifts.com/stronglifts-5x5-beginner-strength-training-program/I came across it when I searched for ways to increase metabolism[ eat frequently and build muscle mass]. I wanted a tighter body without being sore. It works all muscle groups. The exercises you do to failure are push- ups, pull ups and inverted rows. When I started couldn't do one pull up or push up. I can now do 21 pull ups and 45 push ups. I'm going slow with a goal of 10+pullups and 50+ push ups all at once. I posted some stuff on my Health thread.

I'm sowwy. I'm ashamed. Do I look ashamed? No? How about now? Now do I look ashamed? You guys need to quit with the food and drink while on your computers. Those things can cause very expensive indigestion for both you and the computer. Hot chocolate? Pop tarts? C'mon. Gimme a break!

I only eat 14 at a time...

yes, i'm aware of all this. but i work a 12 hr shift and there is no time in my day to add in weight lifting. to do it all on my off days will make it unbalanced. i do have dumbells but they're only 10 lbs max. besides, if i am going to lift, i'm going to do it right. all muscle groups, primarily free weights. in any case, you are eating too many calories for the little lifting you do. MM, i once took out my anger in the gym.. at that time i would put 90# of weight onto the inverted leg press machine and do 3 sets of about 12 reps.. that day, i was so mad i doubled my weight and lifted the same.. the next day i hurt SOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad lol.. it seemed right at the time though!

It's okay if you also have a 14-egg white omelet as a chaser.
Seriously, dudes and dudettes, you wanna be careful with the muscle-building stuff. I studied dance for many years and had calf and thigh muscles that just went on and on and on. At my advanced age now? I've got spindly bones draped with saggy-baggy elephant skin. You wanna look like me in another 40 years or so?
Right. Like anybody ever learns from someone else's mistakes. Jus repeat "That won't happen to me!" Being fit is one thing...

I also work a 12 hr shift so I split my work out so I do a little bit in the AM and PM. It's better than nothing at all. And yes, I agree with y'all about not using heavier weights....I'll get there eventually but'll be slow. I hate it when my muscles are really sore [even if I had a massage to relieve the discomfort]

BC, there ain't nothing wrong with my attitude. I learned it from my mentor, Maxine.
And I'm not eating chicken wings for breakfast until Stephanie Plum and Lula start eating chicken wings for breakfast.

i would never want to take it too far myself.. just a good muscle tone is fine.. what i really need to do right now is add cardio- even if it's only walking indoors or stationery bike. i am not a runner and never have been.

No, dear. I stopped dancing. Even if I hadn't, what do you expect those muscles are going to look like? Are you going to be on the same exercise regimen at 70 as you are now? Be real.

I also work a 12 hr shift so I split my work out so I do a little bit in the AM and PM. i already get up a bit before 4 so i can get my son to the sitter before being at work at 6. usually don't get home until 715 since i RARELY leave work before 630 pm even though i get off at 6. then there's time with my son/homework. .and bed by 930. getting up earlier / staying up later just to work out is not happening...

That's why I'm going slow to develop my own exercise routine that I can do even when I'm 70. Like you Moon I'd like to add more cardio.
