If only the corporations where doing something to help out America. However, they don't care about the future, they want to enslave us because without us, they can survive and thrive.. Wait... That's, without US there is no THEM... That's right.. And to save their system, they have to make sure that they're pouring a good foundation. It's all about liberal Capitalism going forward.. Teach them how to fish, thanks JC! Exxonmobil Let's solve this www.exxonmobil.com/Corporate/news_ad_us12_letssolvethis.aspx

TV's are defiantly being built in the USA again, and some people are crediting furniture manufacturing as the lead in the reshoring trend now. I had mention that by 2015 there would be a noticeable difference in how things are manufactured a while back to kman. Now, my favorite consulting group out of Boston has releases a report saying that in five years from now, SEVEN industries will be more profitable to operate in the US. So by 2017 the American Renaissance will be full blown and EVERYWHERE in the headlines.. You heard it here FIRST though don't forget... ;D Supporting this theory of 2017 and how we will be reading all about the American Renaissance, are some stories that are starting to pop up right now. The content is about how we have heard the DEATH of America story over and over in the past 40-50 years, sounds familiar right? And how ENERGY is going to dive a revival in the USA, sounds familiar, right? The last point supporting this theory being the sheer amount of activity involving reshoring that is happening. Manufacturing is leaving China. It is not coming back to the US. Take apple ? Why pay some Chinese slug $300 a month when you can move somewhere else in Indonesia for $100 a month. Several stories from around the world indicating that manufacturing might be leaving China. Some of it will be “coming back home”, other parts of it going to where labour is even cheaper. However, while production might move it’s most unlikely that many of the jobs will be coming back to the high wage countries. www.forbes.com/sites/timworstall/2012/07/24/now-apples-manufacturing-is-leaving-china/

First, happy belated bday Jar, we all wished you well at Super Fed Watch. I agree that not all manufacturing leaving China will be coming back right away, however, over the next 30 yrs all of these "cheap" labour countries will want more wages, just like China is right now and the end result will be that we will all service our own economies. The best part is at this point we are already seeing it happen and some are saying, "why even bother with the cheap crap, my customers want quality."

I hear ya pat, wrenches that snap, bolts that can't be re-used. That's one thing that I have noticed, smaller companies are saying; wow, this is just too cheap, our customers don't come back and that's why we are moving home!

One thing that has been highlight over and over in this thread is the idea of Liberal Capitalism and how this trend has been slowing emerging over the last few years as dissatisfaction with the current setup intensifies. We have discussed the reason for this trend to emerge, as it is part of the cycled that was started during the Industrial revolution before BIG govt spending that kick off in the forties. Without a sold base, industrialists had no customers. The socialist programs that grew during the 60’s and 70’s had a positive effect on our social setup, but had noting but a negative effect on our budget. Paul Warburg argued in 1935 that using the money for the new deal in the way the FDR was suggesting would do noting but BOND the people to a massive debt (Another point on the board for Mr. Warburg). However, due to the polices of the time Mr. Warburg was ignored and instead of recapitalizing the banks, a chain of deficit financing was put into motion that has lead us to where we are today. Lots see that the debt situation at the National level is unsustainable and the fact is that if the Industrialists don’t go back to what they were doing before Big govt, their empires will collapse. Lots think that is exactly what is going to happen next because it’s part of conspiracy to enslave us, however, the facts tell an entirely different story than that. America's Wealthy Step Up to the Plate www.dailyfinance.com/2012/04/26/americas-wealthy-step-up-to-the-plate/ Bill and Karen Ackman -- Pershing Square
HAPPY TO SEE ACKMAN giving back as he has been raiding American Companies for years. Definitely the TAKEOVER KING, except for the 20+ million he lost in his efforts to takeover McDonald's in 2006. However I read he is about to make another try at it.

I see you've amassed a veritable anti-gloom repository, Ham. Some of the articles are genuine bright spots. Some, not so much. Record commodity prices, for example. And your six thousand "reshoring" articles neglect the fact that a) low corporate tax rates are the primary incentive, and one soon to evaporate, b) the reshoring of US manufacturing has resulted in a 490,000 jobs over three years (6.8K jobs per month) when the US is growing at a rate that requires at least 155,000 hires a month just to keep up with population growth, and c) reshoring needs to be compared to ongoing outsourcing, which sent 2.2 million jobs overseas in 2011 alone, and is planned to continue. Your statistics on the drop in homicide rate is also a good thing, but underscores a deeper issue, which is that our society is rapidly aging. Violent crimes correlate heavily with youth. The older a society is, the fewer violent crimes are committed. To wit ( from here): Many factors influence crime rates, including the number of people in the high crime age group (15 to 25). According to the Canadian Council on Social Development, the number of people in that age group dropped by 18% in 1991, which corresponds with the crime rate starting to fall as indicated in Chart 1 below. (Source: Crime Prevention Through Social Development)
Something else to consider. The federal government did victimization surveys in 1988, 1993, 1999 and 2004. In 1993, 42% of Canadians reported their victimization to police, in 1999, 37% reported to police, and by 2004 , the number had dropped to 34%. Has violent crime really decreased in recent years, or is it that fewer Canadians are reporting these crimes? It also points out that we're looking at a marginal decline from a 320% increase up until 1990, at which point the population aging effects began to dominate. So I'll say to you what I've said to Decoy several times: if you want to convince me, get the bigger numbers. A thousand points of light are well and good, but the broader numbers are still decaying. for your optimism and research.

Ya Virg, and it just keeps growing, that’s what I love about it! ;D First off, you have to understand that at this point it’s almost impossible for long term decay. Our economy is made up of people doing things, eating, and just going about their business. The reality of what I am talking about is all of the weakness plays into the long term strengths, and that’s what makes all this a success. It’s what bring things into balance, that’s what I have always been talking about on here, and since I was a young lad before that. That’s why I have this thread, but I also have threads talking about things that are not so great in the world as well. For instance, the main reasons for on shoring are not tax incentives, but higher commodities prices, which are driving wages higher across the globe. As these jobs come back the economy grows here and it also grows their. How do we know this? It’s pretty much an accepted fact across the economic world that the only way China, India, and the rest of the world move forward is by increasing domestic demand, plus India just open their doors to foreign retailers… This will lead to the balance of everyone servicing their own economies. We see this evidence not only in manufacturing, also in telemarketing. Indian firms are now hiring in the west and that they see it as a permanent move because it’s just easier having firms to service each economy. On top of all that, the higher commodity prices are making Natural Gas, which NA has tons of, a viable option. The infrastructure is in place for the switch over and this will change the way we see oil in the West. We are finding new and better ways to utilize lost energy right now, again all because of the rising of the “weaker” part of the work force on the eastern side of the world. This is also why I think the reporting of crimes has going down. Crime is a bit more domestic now. That is strictly the homicide rate I’m talking about. I have a link for a new thread that I’m going to post later about that. For now on that topic… The Weimer Republic failed not because of money, but because of land. They couldn’t feed themselves and they didn’t have the resources. NA doesn’t have this problem in the least. We play a big part in feeding the world and we donate billions of dollars every year. On that point, the massive debt loads in the west look like the end. Really though, we are at the beginning of more universal understating of the economy, and that is being helped along with our friend here the internet. It’s also being aided with the fact that the only way that all of these mini empires that all of these business people have can continue is if they are putting money back into the bottom. At the start of this thread the concept of US manufacturing returning was criticized, laughed at and mocked. The idea that rising wages in other countries, along with higher shipping cost, being a contributor to this “renaissance” was far fetched. Now some are claiming that the resurgence of American Manufacturing will be one of the biggest news stories of 2013. Some might still find this hard to believe, I like what Apple, Foxcon, and the manufactures themselves have to say about it… Foxconn Plans American Expansion as Clients Seek Made in U.S.A. www.businessweek.com/news/2012-12-06/foxconn-plans-american-expansion-as-clients-seek-made-in-u-dot-s-dot-a-dotHarrodsburg product at heart of iPhone revolution www.kentucky.com/2012/04/16/2152727/harrodsburg-product-at-heart-of.htmlApple to produce line of Macs in the US next year finance.yahoo.com/news/apple-produce-line-macs-us-133841213.htmlManufacturers launch program to hire more vets www.cbsnews.com/8301-201_162-57532535/manufacturers-launch-program-to-hire-more-vets/Of course there are still going to be some that say that this is all just publicity stunt, or because of tax breaks. No, because this is closer historically to the late 1800's than the 1930's. If you would have bothered to listen to me over the last few years you would have learned that.
