BiMetal... you missed the point. Texas was never meant to house more people than its resources could accommodate. Going outside the state's borders for them is not the right solution. Texas is a national pariah state because it STOLE companies from other states and relocated work forces so it wouldn't suffer the same economic consequences as all other states-- caused by George W. Bush. What the USA needs today is a flushing out of Texas and re-balancing it to be the barren desert of ranches it once was and a modest population that can be supported by what little resources it can manage. Water-- did you know that rivers running into population centers across the nation and experiencing "treatment" leave those cities pickled by the zillions of chemicals flushed down toilets and sinks in the form of expired medicines? It's time to get BUSINESS out of ECOLOGY and make the balancing and care thereof-- a PRIORITY. Same for Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Utah ..... Millions are living where humans were not meant to live in large numbers in the US. A large portion of the nation's food supply comes from areas not meant for farming, but have prospered due to the availability of water. Sunrnr, Well I both agree and challenge you on the question of Water and states line.. AS you may know the law is questionable when you have old Spanish laws of New Mexico and Current USA laws that Texas uses about the water from the Pecos River and Rio Grande.. Many Treaties with Mexico are also in question. Much of the water in West Texas is in huge underground lakes that hold rain water that is 100's of years old. That is why the Rail Road Commission is so demanding in capping wells. Also much of the land in West Texas are housed in mountains that act as rain water concentrators for the dry creeks that lead to the Sensitive Water Recharging areas. Most of these are good for watering Cows and Deer. Yes , we feed our deer real good deer corn to make the meat great. One other thing, West Texas is know for springs.. Big Spring, Sand Spring and Balamora Springs all have sponsored towns. On the other hand cities like my home town.. New York City use a huge amount of water that is piped 100's of miles through old pipes.. If one of the current two pipes is lost you will have a huge water shortage. As far as farming goes, Texas has increase the amount of farming over the last few years as demand for cotton and peanuts grows. Just a thought, Bi Metal Au Pt

USA WON, " New York City use a huge amount of water that is piped 100's of miles through old pipes.. If one of the current two pipes is lost you will have a huge water shortage. " That is why they started the new Aqua Duct in the first place. Still they were built in in 1837 to 1842.. They are old and it has been years from the last examination...It has been in the works for almost 10 years now.. Great Call....K$U Bi Metal Au Pt

Great points . Next k4u. If we weren't meant to live how we are now? Then why are we and why are we finding balance?... Every time I hear we are running out of water I laugh. there is so much we can do. Like Henry for said.. "Most people spend more time and energy going around problems than in trying to solve them." It's all about education and Conservation.

Towing an iceberg to the Middle East was proposed not too long ago. The idea was to build a reservoir for it and airlift blown sections into it. India had also considered it.

NP B, you deserve them. K4U It's interesting how the rail really dictated where these towns are across the prairies. Here in Saskatchewan if they would have had a few less settlements along the line, our rural towns wouldn't be in the shape they are in. I can't wait to see those wind towers along I20.. ;D Looks like I might end up in a place that is looking along those lines.. Oh ya water. If they would have built this dam.. town.outlook.sk.ca/skytrail/skytrail-4.html in a different spot. I would have grown up in a lake town. Here is Saskatoon, Sk the S.Sask River is very high. All that water is controled at that dam. The farmers around Outlook are looking for water.. ;D It's all happening. Economic evolution. I think I might see if M wants Westbridge to have the call letters AHB when we go public.. What do you think ?? Irrigation investment key, group says www.thestarphoenix.com/Irrigation+investment+group+says/5202960/story.html What do you say BTI? Water from dams all across Canada and the US pulled off so there is no flooding, and they we have water for dry areas.. We just ship the water and have tanks on the irrigation systems!!

Sun I agree that water is going to be a precious resource in the future. Much of the problem will be dealt with by technology the same as we have dealt with all the other resources that have been the subject of scare stories and fear mongering in the past. However, there is no way I would give the SLIGHTEST credibility to a report generated by some "green committee" at the UN. Simply another money grab and transfer of money from the developed world (the USA) to the poor world (the perpetual countries that never can and never will get their act together). Of course no matter how much money is poured in, very little of it will actually go to help anyone. It will simply disappear into the corrupt UN and the corrupt leadership of the third world. That is exactly it wxyz. The free world donates over 300 Billion a year, this money needs to be handled better! What your saying about tech ties into TT is saying about finding balance with nature. Tech is how we get there. Huge Hidden River Found Under Amazon www.newser.com/story/127068/researchers-find-massive-underground-waterway-beneath-amazon-river.html
