EC and Jaime Kirlew's effect on my little town: gomestic.com/homemaking/how-i-paid-just-36-00-for-800-worth-of-downey-tide-dawn-and-other-pg-products/then read this: socyberty.com/issues/coupon-fraud/ then this(from me and my store on SD, the picture wouldn't come thru, it's a pic on WD's door stating "coupons must match products purchased": Hi, I am a newbie here on SD and only a second time reader of this thread, but boy did y'all catch my attention. I am a long time couponer, and I live in H'burg, MS, but I gave up on WD a long time ago. When they gave me such a hard time about getting RC and using LEGITIMATE coupons, I turned to "greener" pastures. So this article was news to me ( and yes, a small part of me hates I missed out, a very small part, though, the rest of me realizes that WD could stand to lose a lot in reimbursement of the coupons). I dropped in at the larger WD in my area today, and here is what I found out: At the door: From the manager Shari Jo: AFTER a cashier noticed that coupons were being handed over for items not purchased, and the coupons didn't beep, Shari Jo called corporate. Corporate did indeed tell Shari Jo and other store managers that if the coupon didn't beep go ahead and take the coupon ("make the customer happy") and they did allow people to use P&G coupons "at will". THEN Corporate figured out what coupons were being used (the Align and Crest Whitestrips to name a few) and they called Shari and other store managers, stating they had to stop IMMEDIATELY. Shari acknowledged that she felt like the whole thing was a huge mistake, but she stated she was following corporate policy. I am betting the guy who said "sure, let them use whatever coupon" does not have a job anymore. Shari also thought that P&G "had made a mistake" with just one set of coupons, she had no idea that this could still happen even today in her store, if the cashier was not watching....

All that using different coupons for products is absurd and I am surprised that the idiots at TLC were dumb enough to film such a blatant act of fraud. I would laugh if all of the major manufacturers who publish the coupons and were used in the Extreme Couponing show were sued plus Jamie Kirlew. Its not the fact that its ruining it for everybody else, because it is (today at my CVS the cashier told me they were cracking down on the coupons because of people were using mismatched coupons to products, but I need not worry because I never even thought of doing that, let alone try and get by with it) but you really have some integrity issues if you are willing to basically steal from a store and a manufacturer. Since it caught on as much as it did, I am sure it is giving a reason for the manufacturers and retail stores to raise prices so they can recoup some loss from all of it.. Sorry for my rant but that really irritates the hell out of me.

Well it looks like it's my turn to be in a test market for one of the drug stores wild-ass ideas. Rite Aid printed a note on my receipt yesterday that said something like 'effective 2/5, all Ups will be posted to your account and cannot be redeemed until the next day." I am really wondering how it will work, and how you decide which Ups you want to redeem, etc. And how will you keep track of what you have? Rite Aid has been the only drug store with much going on lately, and I'm not sure I'll be shopping there much any more. Sigh. Don't worry, once they start losing business, they will take their head's out of their asses and stop their little games. That's what I'm hoping. Rite Aid's crack IT team will undoubtedly mess this up, and I hope they will be forced to stop fairly soon. Cross your fingers!

I had to because my Rite Aid is across town, was short on stock, and on top of all of that, they started imposing limits that made the time and efforts not worth the savings that I would get....that is IF they even had the product available to buy. As the drug chains have pulled back, so have I. I go after the best/easiest deals to do and leave all the rest. In addition, I now have some serious competition in town. I went into CVS for the Speed Stick and there were a total of two on the shelf - not enough to do the deal even one time. I went into Safeway to get the free POM juice. There were none on the shelf mid-morning even though they had received 8 cases in the shipment. I went to Target for the free Iams and I was able to get (4) dog and (1) cat. The shelves were practically cleared. I live in a small town and there is only one of each store, so I cannot simply drive another few blocks and try at another store. Lucky for me, whoever this person or people are, they were not using coupons in the hay day of great deals, so I have my stockpiles to fall back on and can usually get a rain check and just do the deals later. I guess I am a casualty of Extreme Couponing. Yep, I'm in the same place as you. I'm lucky to have a good stockpile, although I do notice some things running really low. At one time it seemed like I would always be able to get those things. Now I jump on the really good deals because you never know if they'll come around again. That darned show has had a huge impact, and not a good one.

debinwa, I think their FB page has been flooded with complaints. Didn't WAGs cancel their whole test market thing recently? Hopefully it will be the same for this one too. With all the glitches in their system, I would not want them deciding how I should use my Ups and that I can use it only on the next day. If enough people complain they may change their mind. Remember the December GOS fiasco in 2010? Let's hope this will also be dead soon. I can remember SO MANY fiascos with Rite Aid! They seem to mess up everything they touch! You make a good point about the complaints. Maybe I will give them a call tomorrow. I do want to understand how it will all work, and maybe I will lodge a little complaint myself!

HOUND ALERTIf anyone has Fresh Express salad coupons that they are willing to share, I would love some. They are on sale for $1 in our GC, so would be an awesome deal thanks!!! Lena Check the posts from yesterday. There is a link to a website that has a printable $2/1 PDF, which means you can print/use multiple copies. I posted the link to we pillage the village for the $2 coupons for the Fresh Express Salad KITS, but they do also have $2 printable coupons for romaine or Italian mixes. Those might work for your sale if it's not the kits. www.wepillagethevillage.com/Printables.htmlEverybody else should check this site out too. There are Petco coupons for a free can of ProPlan dog food, $5 off Iams, and a $1.25 Dentek coupon that's good til the end of 2013! OMG it's so late-- I have to get to bed!! Night!

That makes my brain hurt it's so ignorant. I might could understand from a brand-new couponer who is trying to imitate EC, but not from someone who claims they've been using coupons for years. Why would anyone ever think that was ok, regardless of what the store said? And her "comeback" argument is almost as bad: no one follows all the rules on all coupons, so it's ok that I used a $10 whitestrips coupon on a $5 bottle of downy! There are little things that most couponers will get a pass on in some cases: doubling a coupon that says do not double, exploiting loopholes in buying/selling/trading coupons, etc. But deliberately using high-value coupons on a completely different item is a whole different ball game. The stupid is strong in that one.

Between you guys, me and her, she had 14 coupons and we were able to goto Target and buy them all in 1 shot. They were buy 2 and receive a $5 GC back...She also bought 6 cases of 120 diapers, doing a total of 6 transactions, rolling GCs and such with grand total of $281, pre coupon total was $582!! That is amazing savings for formula and diapers, the 2 most expensive things when it comes to babies! So thank you so much again! She is now stocked up for about 3months on formula!!

Freesalsa, It's the 8oz juice and it's on sale for 99c. BTW if you have signed up for the J4U program, they are giving free Dr.Pepper 10 - 2L this week. Hi SaveinLA! I did sign up at the store yesterday but I was on my way to something else and did not want to get my free eggs just then. I'll pick them up another time. I'll have to check out the web site to see what else I'll get. Thanks for the heads up! Also, I did get the one teeny bottle of juice for free. I thought I had two coupons but I only had one.

I can't remember if I have seen this posted here, but I don't think I have. For those who have Safeways or any of the Safeway family of stores, they have Fresh Express Salad Kits on sale for $2 this week, and there is a pdf printable at we pillage the village for $2 off one. They actually have a page of 9 coupons that you can print/save to your desktop. This is a gem, because it's good through the end of March. I 'bought' five today, no beeps, no issues. I love the Mexican one. Will be going back by Tuesday to get a few more for sure. Here is the link: www.wepillagethevillage.com/Printables.htmlScroll down a bit and make sure you get the coupon for the KITS on the left. debinwa: They were $2.50 at my Safeway; BUT, BUT, BUT if your store puts the Fresh Ideas Magazine in their produce section, there is a $2/1 coupon in it that doesn't expire until 3/31. I went in this morning and got (4) of the Mexican Salad Kits and a rain check for (6) more. I plan to keep going in for rain checks so that we'll have cheap salad through the beginning of April. ;D ETA: The coupon in the store is the same as the one in the link you provided. I'm not sure that my store would take the printed ones though. I've been off for a week or so and just saw this. Today should be the last day of the sale so I guess I know where I'll be tonight! Thank you so much for posting this. And thanks, Dancin, for reminding us about rain checks.

Thanks misspt. That's what I thought too. Kroger mega shopping today. Balance bars - 3 BE SF Chefs variety - 1 Marie Calendar 10oz pie - 1 Mamma bella garlic bread - 1 Hunts tomatoes - 14.5 oz - 4 Van De Kamps bread - 2 Paid 6.05 OOP. Do you guys think that spending 27$ on food items - mostly frozen veggies, brown rice, some convenience food like salsa, 12 cans of tomatoes, protein bars etc is a good price? I am trying to combine the mega sales with the 5$/50 Q from Ralphs and also trying to use most of the store Qs. By my calculations - it's 72$ before mega, 52$ after mega and 27$ after Qs. That ($27) seems a little high to me, unless you needed them right now. I think those nutrition bars can routinely be found for free if you're not brand specific. Right now there is a $1 printable coupon for Think Thin bars. I'm sure there will be a $1 sale before they expire. Also I got a whole bunch of Luna bars free with doubled coupon from the Mambo Sprouts book. Wait, are you talking about $27 or the $6 that you actually paid? Becaus $6 would be great. Let me know anyway if you want the Think Thin link and I'll try to remember where I found it. ETA: Also the Van de Kamps bread can often be found for under a dollar on clearance on the rolling cart near the employee entrance in the back of the store.

I have so many printables now for things that may go on sale because I want to print them before they're gone. They take up so much room in my little organizer because I tear them off (don't usually have scissors around) and they are just a little larger than dollar-sized. How are you guys organizing your printables you're not using but want to have with you in the store just in case?

At Sprouts they have a monthly deal book. I decided to take home the book and write to the companies that have sale items at the beginning of the month. If they send me high value coupons before the end of the month, that could mean free or cheap items. I wrote to five companies over the weekend so we'll see what I get. Last time I wrote to Earthbound Farms they sent me 50 cent, $1 and FREE item up to $6 coupons. It was great. I got the large containers of spinach and mixed greens with the free up to $6 coupons.
