[ ohiositter: You're very welcome. There was a sale that made kitty treats free at Target a while back so I was glad to pass them on to you. This is what is most excellent about this board. We've not only shared info about the deals for years, but we've also shared our coupons with each another. If you added up all the money that we have collectively saved in our little community here over all these years, I'm sure it would reach into the tens of thousands of dollars. Dancin: I would say it would be even higher if you count in all the store rewards, % off dept. store coupons and catalinas in addition to all the MQ's. I've been keeping track over the last 3 years and I can't believe how much I've saved. rubyslippers: You're probably right. I know that my own savings since drug chain rewards were "invented" have been unbelievable......literally. I guess that's why when I post about the virtues of coupons on other threads, there is so much blow back. My coupon savings for Jan and February combined has been almost $300 and I'm doing fewer deals now than I ever have since 2007.

Dancinmama: I agree with rubyslippers that it could be much, much more. I did track that one year and saved @ $4600. Between the rebates, UPs, EB's etc., I think my OOP total was @ $50. I don't keep track anymore (just track my grocery spending per month) as my goal was to see if all the work in couponing made monetary sense. I'm still here so needless to say, it does! I don't get as many deals anymore since my insert sources have all dried up, but between IP's, my Sunday paper, and the kindness of folks here, I'm in the game. You all rock! The awesome thing is that the longer you do it and the better organized you get, the less work it is. ;D

Ran out to do a bit of shopping this morning, when I woke up to the sun shining, I needed to get out of this house. It was so cold, snowy and blustery with high winds yesterday, it was awful. I had a couple things to get at Target, $10 in Kohls cash to use and $10 Old Navy reward to use. I spent very little OOP and got my rewards used up. Target: STILL no Iams, so, that was my last attempt. I had a return of $9.xx and spent$9.xx so I guess I broke even. I bought 2 Activia, used a $2/2 target q and a $1/1 MC (only had one), a 2 pk. with bonus of Clean & Clear, clearanced to $4.xx, used $2/1 MC, and a down alternative pillow, on sale for $6, minus 20% target q.
Kohls: ALL of their clearance is an extra 25% off. I don't know if this is everywhere or regional, but I don't ever remember them doing that. They are totally over run with winter stuff, especially with the mild winter we had. I got a small picture, 2 bracelets and a pair of pants for 11.xx after my kohl's cash.
Old Navy: I had an email saying I had $10 in rewards that expired in 5 days. It said they were reissued, so, I really didn't know if I'd already used it, but, I thought probably not since I haven't been there since Christmas. I wanted to look for a pair of jeans anyway. They are $19 and you get a "price lock" card good for the next few months to pay the same price next time. So, I just bought a pair of jeans, used the $10 rewards and was going to use a gift card for the rest, but forgot you have to use you cc when you use rewards, so, paid $9.xx.
Rite Aid: Was able to get a second newspaper with my 20% discount, which was nice. Bought 2 schick hydro, used 2 $2 peelies from cvs, and 1.50/2 VV, and 2 Robitussin, used $3 in ad q, and $1/1 MC, which put me over the $25 for the $10 Up. I'm also $9 away from my $20 Buy and Save Up. I spent $3.xx OOP, because I totally forgot to use any Ups to pay. I wasn't really paying attention cuz they said they were having issues with Ups not printing this morning, and I was worried ciz I knew I'd probably get my $10 and maybe even my $20. The guy ahead of me bought the schick razors and his Up didn't print.

Had a great run at Safeway today - they have the 30% off FF Q and 30% off Kashi/Amy ready to eat items and they double dip
Azumaya tofu 1*0.88 - J4U price Kens ranch salad dressing 1*1.50 - minus 1$ off MQ Knorr rice or pasta sides 2*0.89 - minus 50c MQ doubled to 1$ S&W Cuban recipe beans 2*0.99 - minus 1$ off MQ from one of the recent inserts - this is on price cut SW Icecream cups 5*0.29 - this is with the 30% off FF Q and the in ad Q and probably J4U price Kashi 3 cheese penne 2*1.20 - this is the DD with the 2 Qs and I had 1.50 off any 2 Kashi items tearpad Kashi chkn fettucine 2*1.20- this is the DD with the 2 Qs and I had 1.50 off any 2 Kashi items tearpad Fresh Express Spinach 1*0.99 SW Stirfry veggies 1*1.40 - 30% off from the 2$ price SW pepper strips 1*1.40- 30% off from the 2$ price SW Cut green beans 1*1.50 - 30% off from the 2.19$ price Hunts tapioca pudding - 4pk 3*0.99 - price WYB 3
So I scored 4 very nice entrees for 44 cents each which is probably a steal for the brand. I paid 14.61 for all the items above and according to my receipt, I saved 73%. I may have to go and redo a similar transaction to get a few more to help in the upcoming weeks.

Kohls: There was a pair of Levi's capris that I wanted for 48.00. It was on sale for $32.00. I had a $10.00 coupon, which brought the price down to $22.00. Then came the 20% off for re-opening my Kohls CC...now it is at $17.60. Then came my 15% off coupon which brought the price down again to $14.96 plus tax. I cleared the balance out with a GC from a Christmas Bunco party, LOL. I didn't know that you could use two coupons for one item.
YAY.

At CVS: I bought the Thermacare $3.79 and the Colgate $4.99, used the 75 cents off coupon for the Colgate and used a $7.00 EB on the balance. $8.03-$7.00 EB = $1.03 plus tax OOP. I receive $4.00 for the Colgate and $3.79 for the Thermacare, so a good exchange for the $7.00 EB. I am always looking for good ways for "refresh" my older EB's.

Yesterday, we went to the OC swap meet and they have produce vendors there. I like to go at about 12:30 or later. I get in free with previous passes given to us from the produce vendors. We buy brussels sprouts, zucchini, squash, green beans, grapefruit, oranges, bell peppers, broccoli, etc....all for about $1.00 for each big bag item.
Another customer said that if you come even later on a Sunday, at about 2:00 PM, they tend to almost give the stuff away.

Rite Aid: Free Pantene if you buy the Aqua Light or Ice. I saw this on hip2save last night and tried it today and it gave out an extra two $1.00 UPs along with the advertised $2.00 UP. There's a $3/2 MQ in today's insert. If anyone is planning on buying the Pepsi products, watch your receipt. Mine didn't ring up on sale so I had to return it and do over. I'm putting the extra cash back on a giftcard to eat up my tax. |
rubyslippers: Is that a particular brand of Pantene shampoo/conditioner? I'm interested because I'm slowly working the Pantene/Cover Girl $10 rebate. Pantene shampoo is one of the eligible items. Murpath: Yes it is. Mine says Aqua Lite on it and I believe you can do the deal twice but I only had one coupon. Coupon Savings: Just today I spent $10.61 OOP and saved $113.79 using coupons, UPs and ECBs and I'll be able to send in a $10.00 Advil rebate. This was for 2 bags of groceries and 2 bags at Rite Aid and CVS. I will be saving even more when I hit Meijers this weekend. Hound Alert: If anyone has extra Kraft Philly Indulgance or Philly Cooking MQ's, I would really appreciate them. Meijers has an awesome sale this coming weekend. TIA. Pubbler: Check out the Kraft cheese deal at Meijer starting Friday.

Oh, I also meant to post that Target had a bunch of Pantene on clearance for 1.88. I know there are a lot of Pantene fans here, so, after the $3/2 Q, they are pretty cheap...

Hi Dancin! Yes, I know I am still saving money. I am stockpiling, even if I only go to CVS about once a week now. I just buy what is FREE or close to it, and keep recycling my EB's.
It would have been nice to have the Thermacare coupon.

I haven't been posting too much on here, because I haven't had much to add.
But, today, I had something fun at my old little RA. They are being remodeled and so a huge amount of stuff was on 75% clearance. I mean, electronics, office supplies, personal care etc. I made out like a bandit on things like surge protectors, a digital recorder, craft supplies for kids, and photo albums.
This probably isn't going on anywhere else - this RA is part of a shopping center where all the buildings except RA's were demolished and have been re-built. So I think the RA remodel is part of that. Pretty exciting - had to share since I haven't had many super duper deals lately.

ohiositter: PM your addy again and I'll get you the q's. You know they are for the small size cans of Pepsi, right?

I know you are all pros out there but thought I'd mention that you can use the $1 Olay q for the 3.5oz bar of Olay at Target which is located in the travel section and is .97. The full $1 is taken off so helps with tax. This q was in the 1/29 P&G insert. They also have the small containers of Gold Bond medicated body powder (DH loves to use on his tootsies) for .97. There are some IP's out there as well as an insert q--sorry, can't remember exact date.
Dancin: My Target finally had some more of the Iams $3 bags so I was able to use my last two q's. Yea to sharing!
