Ok so now I have a question. While looking for a WINN DIXIE near me I found their online coupons, there was a $1/ICBINB could I have used that at PUBLIX for the recent 2/$5 ICBINB, I checked to see and it was cheaper than I buy it a Walmart and that particular time (DEC 18th) so in theory the WINN DIXIE coupon as used, I get ICBINB at 2/$4 making it even less expensive? ? Is this the name of the game? We always buy ICBINB and it is the only margarine we use. Am I getting it or am I off the mark as they are not the same store? It depends on the coupon. IF it says "manufacturer' coupon", technically it can be used anywhere. Some stores put their logo on MCs, but they are good anywhere. On the other hand, some coupons will say, "Target Coupon" or "CVS Pharmacy" where the words "manufacturer's coupon are usually printed (right next to the expiration date). Those can only be used at the store indicated. Have you ever tried Land O Lakes Buttery Spread? We were tried and true ICBINB users until I ran across a killer sale and a killer coupon for the Land O Lakes, so I decided that at $.77 for a 1 lb. tub, it was worth a try. Well, we found a new favorite. DH still likes the ICBINB, but says if he had a choice, he'd choose the Land O Lakes. Also, if you go to CVS.com and click on coupons, I THINK there is still a $1/1 MC for ICBINB. The limit is 2 prints per computer (I think). HTH ;D

The coupons on the Winn Dixie site are coupons.com coupons and can be used anywhere. So you could have used it at whichever store you found to have the cheaper price. Sometimes you will get store coupons that are not usable at other stores, these coupons usually have a UPC that DOES NOT start with a 5 or 9 *I think* please someone correct me if I am wrong...

Wait and we also can't have those MVp cards per person, there is a great deal with it on one flyer so my thought was for me and DH to each get one and use it separetly to get the deal, but our household address would be the same.

I'm back... I've been MIA for a few weeks with the holiday bustle. Dancin - I also finally got some of the centrum coupons, I'm guessing you don't need them now that the deal is over. Unless, maybe you were able to get a rain check. I'm so far behind in my organizing though, that I have no idea when they expire. My goal for 2012 is to keep my coupons organized and purged and to build up my stockpiles again.

P.S. for those of you who bought the TARGET FLANNEL SHEETS. They are super-duper linty. Wash them and dry them by themselves, unless you want lint all over everything. However, they are very soft now that I have washed them and used my cheap, cheap, cheap lavender snuggle fabric softener....

Happy New Year everybody!
Dollar General: Constanz, I gave you karma earlier today because your tip several weeks ago has allowed me to do quite well with the Bengay MQ's. Today I spent $10.47 and saved $189.00. I bought 6 jars Prego sauce, 2 jars Smuckers jam, 4 cans diced tomatoes, 1 can mushrooms, 3 All laundry detergents, 2 6pk. bottles Diet Pepsi, coffee filters, 6 boxes Kelloggs cereal and finger polish remover pads. I have a lot of Bengay to donate too.
Thank you to everyone for your sharing of coupons with me this year and also for all your tips and scenarios at the stores. I really appreciate having a board that is so helpful and that just "gets it." Slashing your grocery bill is financially liberating. I've come a long way in the past few years and today I just met another financial goal. I bought my DH a newer pickup truck and paid cash for it. We've been saving for quite awhile and today was the day. It's a really pretty ruby color and he gets to pick it up Monday. While I didn't have a coupon for the truck, the price came below what I was willing to pay for it. Had I not been couponing the last few years, I know I wouldn't have had the savings to fork over for a vehicle.

I did wash them by themselves and yes, the lint trap was FULL. They feel nice though, can't wait to put them on tomorrow. I was scoping out more today, but they were GONE! I did see one king size, but I needed queen...bummer, I should've bought two when I was there the other day.

I think I found a mattress set at Sears! They are having a huge sale until 1/7. 50% plus an additional 10% off, free financing for 18 months when you use your Sears card, AND free delivery and haul away of old bed. I spent a lot of time there and think I narrowed it down to 2, one Serta and one Sealy. I wrote down the model so I could come home and check reviews online, but they were almost the same price, both UNDER $900 for the set!

At Safeway I have found that most of the "limits" are per transaction. Many times if the limit is (3), I'll buy (3) and turn right around and buy (3) more. Of course, it wouldn't work if the deal involved an e-coupons being loaded to the card. ;D

I hated our Sealy posturepedic, it was a great bed at first, but was completely worn out at 5 yrs(neither me or DH are overweight). I made it last for 3 years after that with a memory foal top, but it had to go at 8 years. I have had our Serta for 1 year now, and it still sleeps great.

Naggie, If they were Winn Dixie only coupons (not MQ) and your Publix accepts WinnDixie as a competitor, then you could have used 2 of those coupons on the items if you were buying 2 AND if you also had 2 Manufacturers Q's you could have used those also. So for those 2 items you could have used 4Q's, 2 Winn Dixie and 2 MQ. For example I'd been wanting to try the new Philly cooking cream, but didn't want to pay for it. Publix was running it 2/$4. I had 2 target Q's for $1ea and 2 MQ's for $1ea so I was able to get both for free. ;D Also, check w/your Publix and see if they accept Target coupons. Mine takes both Target and Winn Dixie. The Publix at the other end of town takes Target, WD, and 2 other grocery stores coupons.

I was able to make do for a bit using a memory foam topper, but I still hate it...what a waste of money...

So I am running the math for a CVS deal (potentially to go do now), and I am curious if I am missing a way to profit. I have a $5/$25 and many December P&Gs, and I really need Shampoo.
9 Pantenes at 3.33e 29.97 (close enough for gift card and it will save me a little tax to shave off the 10th bottle) minus four $3/2 12.00 minus $5/25 5.00 12.97 + tax and get back a $10 GC (I will use current $10 GC and $4 EB to pay no OOP) Am I missing anything that might turn this into profit?

leanna - just responding to your question above from the December thread. When you buy the item(s), you'll need to scan your Staples Rewards card. If you don't have one, you can get one in the store for free. I haven't bought anything at Staples in a while so I don't remember exactly how long it takes, but I want to say it takes about 3-4 weeks to get the reward. They used to mail them out, but now they get put in your account online and they'll email you when they're ready. You just print out the reward and use it on whatever else you want to purchase. I love it when they put out some free after rebate items when I have rewards to use up, but that happens infrequently.
The one fly in the ointment with Staples is that if you use Staples Rewards to pay for an item that produces Staples Rewards, it reduces the amount of rewards you get back. So let's say you had a $5 reward to use and bought an item that was $10 and was supposed to give you $10 rewards. You'd only get back $5 because you used $5 to pay. So stupid. But you can use rewards to buy rebate items without a problem. Or you could use them on ink or whatever else you wanted to buy. ;D

Hmmm....I'm also tempted by the L'Oreal Revitalift deal, as I need some more moisturizer.
6 Revitalift 4.99e 29.94 minus 5.00/$25 minus $2/1 x 6 IPs OOP 12.94 get back a $10 EB.........

I think this is what I was missing. So you can use rewards to buy something that offers a rebate and get the cash back that way. Are these Staples rebates? Or manufacturers rebates? And they give back cash, right, or at least a check? Oh, I should have been doing this ages ago. I have one co-worker that stole my idea of recycling the toner from work who was taking all the toner. But the rest of my co-workers are mad at her now (for unrelated reasons) and are giving theirs to me. Also. we are moving offices in a few weeks and people are packing and finding old toners in supply closets. Some are part used and some are never used but are so old they're probably dried up or we don't even have a machine for it anymore, so they're giving me those too. One girl cleaned her apartment and brought me 10 empties that she had around her place. Woo hoo!

Now I've gotta try to get rid of the set I bought and can't use

So the question on the other board was whether or not you'd speak up if you saw someone using old coupons with the exp. date cut off--deliberate coupon fraud. I probably wouldn't have said anything in front of the couponer, but as soon as she left I'd probably have said something to the cashier, in hopes they could catch her in the parking lot or find her via camera or track her via her store card. Sometimes though, you get a cashier that just doesn't care. It would be too much work for them to figure out the problem or figure out what to do about it. I can see a young guy just grunting and shrugging and letting it go.
But the term coupon fraud made me think about the Zyrtec coupon I was planning on using today. Yesterday I used the self-check machine to see if it would take the $2 IP that was for any size other than the trial size and it worked. I assumed it would also work on the $4 IP (I didn't have it with me at the time) for the 45? ct or higher size and was planning to try it when I read this question. I looked at the coupons again and decided not to use the $4, since it was clearly for the wrong size. But I did use the $2 cpn because it said any size but the trial size. The 5 ct. I bought very well could be the trial size but how do I know that there isn't a smaller size, like in one of those fancy tubes or 2-pill packets like the aspirin comes in? And it didn't say it was the trial size, so I figured it was ok. I really wanted the $4 MM but settled for $2. I also use two cards sometimes, one for me and one for DH, who was his own household until recently. I don't think I've ever cleared a shelf, probably because I've never had enough coupons to do it!
Happy New Year, everybody! Be happy and safe. Here's to saving more money next year!!! --Free Salsa

So that Staples deal I tried still charged my CC, even though they said they cancelled my order!! I will give it a couple of days to see if it reverses (I understand with holiday weekends there could be a delay in getting it stopped), but if it does not get reversed I am going to be pretty mad. Wonder if I can just get them to honor the orders and give me the products I tried to order anyway? Can't hurt to ask!

Only got 3 inserts in my paper today, and they suck...I'll check the other paper when I go to the grocery store, but definitely not worth spending 1.75 for extra papers today...what a huge let down...I know I live in LOCC, but this is ridiculous.

Dancin I do the shopping for my 93 y/o Dad so I have his CVS card. I see no harm doing this in this and neither of my regular store mgrs has a problem w/me doing it. I often have back to back purchases using the different cards as I will today w/the tuna and Oral B today. I do keep his receipts/EB in a separate envelope.
I have never bothered to buy coupons. I am a single person (+cat) household. If it is a good week (like this one) I buy my own paper AND I get the coupons from my Dad’s paper. That is generally enough for me. On a bad week I just get his (he has a subscription).

RE: mattress shopping
I can't remember if this has been mentioned, but whatever you decide to buy - NEGOTIATE!! Mattresses have huge mark-ups and I have NEVER bought one without getting the price lowered and/or getting additional items for free (mattress pad). Also, it seems that now days you have to pay for the frame, so if you do need one, again, negotiate!
good luck Lena
ETA: don't get too excited about them taking the old one away - they ALWAYS do that.
As a reference, I got a queen size mattress in Feb '11 for $722.50 (that included delivery, mattress pad, rails, taking away the old one and one other thing I can't remember now). I got it during President's day sale
