I'm a former longtime lurker from the msn ym board. I felt this was a good opportunity to come out of the closet too! Maybe even grow a pair and actually post once in a while!

Longtime lurker from YM. New board, new year, decided to come out of the closet!

Like many of the others here, I too have read the boards for quite some time. (I am guessing about 2 or 3 years.) I have never posted but sure have learned a lot. I was so disappointed when I read MSN was doing away with the Money Board. I am so glad this board was created - still lots to learn!

I was TheHome6, I am thehome6. I have a military husband, 2 small girls that I stay at home with (though I am becoming increasingly disenchanted with that), and the only debt I have is a mortgage on a house we don't live in. Obvs, I am not CM.

To Who is John Galt---
I am Dagny, but I'm really in love with Francisco....
However, any "friend" of John's (or Ayn's) is a friend of mine....

I am Moka. I have been a lurker over on MSN for years, I think I only posted once over there. I will try to be more active here. Thanks for setting this site up for those of us who wanted to continue the journey together.

I'm the non-amish Amish Gal from NE Ohio. I've lurked/half-heartedly posted on EE and YM for a few years. I live to get Toony all fired up.

I could have sworn there was a thread here called "Role Call" and I posted on that. But I am Wastingthyme - with a new name. I'm keeping the Thyme part.

Thyme, I gotta say - you have very creative ideas for your "name"

But you can't become disenfranchised with it, or you're an absolutely horrible human being. Everyone's calling in life is to be a SAHP.

Thyme, I gotta say - you have very creative ideas for your "name" I'm not sure exactly what you mean - but I have the feeling you are insulting me.

I'm a long time lurker too.... Glad to be 'out' now with the rest of you. FWIW, I'm liking the look of these pages much better than the "Money" boards.

I was "gardening grandma" on the old board, similar name here. I'm 66, retired, two kids, three g'kids (in their teens), live with DH & two Golden Retrievers. Glad to see so many migrate here and "thank you" for setting this up.

Not true, J! Why, just the other day, DH came home and said how nice it was that he was able to go out of the house, away from the kids, to a job that he loved. I am sorry about the dent that got made in my favorite frying pan when I lobbed it at his head...

I am now Tome Trader to match my name on other message boards.
I've been Aunt Bea from Mayberry and Veruca Salt. I've been registered with MSboards since 2006.
I've been away because I could never access the boards with my MAC. Logged on dh's computer today and discovered the boards are retiring and found my way over here.

I kept my name form the old Board and am glad to be here. I'm an actuary, almost 58, married to a dear man who's 72 and retired, so I'm the primary earner although he gets SS and income from some freelance work. I've been investing since age 19 but didn't have much to show for it till a few years ago- now I'm focused on managing our retirement funds and finding the right balance between spending, saving and giving.

I was a lurker as well on the old MSN money boards but when I found out that those boards were bing shut down, I decided to join on this new one. I like it so far!
