Are these boards completely private as in they won't show up at all if you do a google search?

I know when Fat Wallet kicked the couponers off that board, we migrated first to DAGG and then that was bought. The next migration was to Hot Coupon World.

That forum is phenomenal now. The owners must be making money off of it. But, more importantly, it gets tons of new traffic every day.

People will find us here if we invite people over here, or if we start showing up in search engines. I've invited several people (so far) who've joined and are posting ~ that's really the best way to keep things going.

I don't particularly want people I know to see either. We do post a lot of personal opinion on here as well as personal info.

On the one hand, it is fine with me if it is just a bunch of regs that hangs out. But, oh, how we will miss the newbies who almost always had gotten themselves into a mess. What will we do without the drama?

I just got a survey about how I liked the new MSN . There were two spots to write in comments. I let them know how I felt about them closing the message boards.

It depends on waht you type in. I don't have this site bookmarked. All I do is type Proboards MSN Moneyboard and it pulls up on Google, first choice.

It's an interesting lesson in how the content we create on Boards is truly not our own. I'm sure that the Tax forum on msnmoney was a great resource built up over the years, and that a Search would provide answers to a lot of questions thanks to the people who posted there. Their work is gone.

I'm glad my favorite travel board is owned and run by a guy who's passionate about travel himself, and it seems to be well-supported by advertising and widely scanned by airline and hotel reps. If that site were trashed there would be a revolution!

Yes, Athena, I think that is how Hot Coupon World is. They reopened the grocery/coupon boards at Fat Wallet, but the posters didn't return as before. I'm sure people who went before wander over there occasionally just because they also went there for other reasons. But the grocery board is nothing like the one at HCW.

Shortly after I addressed a question about informative threads being moved to here from the MSNTax board the boards finally shut down. Ugh! I know no one could have read my reply. The link to this board was posted several times earlier, so hopefully the word will get out.
