And do you miss it? Just wondering...almost 32 and I got carded twice on Sunday--once at the liquor store when I bought Everclear, and then at the grocery store when I bought wine (and a week or two before that it was when I got beer for the ex-BIL as a "thank you" for taking DS to school for me). Right now it happens almost every time, and it gets a little annoying, but not a big deal. Just curious if I'll miss it when people stop

Are you asking if you'll feel old? The answer is YES.

I've noticed the only time I don't get carded is when the cashier is about high school age.

I was carded earlier this year. I said I wanted to kiss the guy and he climbed in the booth next to me and hugged me. LMAO!! I'm pretty sure he was gay, though. Not that I minded. ETA: Oh! And the restaurant was really dark so he probably couldn't really see. I'm just sayin'.

I was 42. Nobody would make that mistake now, though!

The week I was in Florida. They carded everyone though. The waitress asked a coworker what she wanted to drink and she said she didn't care she was just happy she got carded.

I get carded-driver's license scanned-when I buy lottery tickets. I should stop going there, they are the only place that cards, but it's a convenient gas station. I said something to the young man about government/corporate america keeping track of us and he looked at me in horror and said "Oh no it is just to check your age." Simpleton!

I was asked for my driver's license to prove my age. I was asking for senior discount. Lady didn't believe I was old enough Does that count?

Sorry POM! That was the only place in Florida that carded me. When I bought alcohol for Halloween I didn't get carded. I always get carded at stores.

Sometimes at the grocery store. It's funny -- I never got carded from 18-21. Then it started happening.

I get carded when I go to a different liquor store. They don't know me like my usual two stores. Oh, I got carded at CVS last week when buying cold medicine. Lame! If I wanted to make meth I'd buy more than one box. And I'd just buy it on the street so I don't risk blowing up.

Well there wasn't any legal drinking age here until after prohibition, which I'm sure you all remember was ended in 1933. By then I was way too old for any fool clerk to think I was under 21. Yep, I remember when Methuselah's dog was a pup. There wasn't any carding going on then, hell there wasn't anything you could properly call paper. Just impressions in clay tablets, that's about all we had. That early stuff was mighty harsh -- good for lighting fires though. Later on the Scots were able to tame her down a bit and make the first real usquebaugh.

I got asked for ID in an airport lounge and then realized they asked everyone for ID if you ordered alcohol regardless how old you appeared.

A few weeks ago I got a pack of cigarettes for dh and the attendant carded me (it's what 18-19 legal age!) MADE MY DAY! After she saw my dob she started laughing and said that she felt silly... But hey, it made me feel good! ;D ;D When I got back in my car I realized it was probably b/c I still had my sunglasses on and she couldn't see the crows feet!

I was wondering if I'd get carded at a wedding reception, but I guess not. Otherwise, I haven't purchased/ordered drinks in quite a while. I do have to hand over the license when picking up the sudafed. Unfortunately, we all have sinus problems, so we're probably on some watch list. And you do miss getting carded.

I have only been carded once ever. I was about 36 in a small store the clerk was on the phone so I looked around and saw a sign that said we card everyone. So I told him I had never been carded so he did.
I didn't start drinking until I was 34 so never had much reason to buy alcohol in my 20s. Now I quit again but was only buying about 1 bottle every 2-3 years. I do sometimes buy a bottle of wine but at 62 they should give me a senior discount.
Nobody ever makes me prove I am a senior either.

I never got carded. I started going to bars at 14. Size does matter! I am a little too young to officially get the senior discount, but I go to the checkout with the youngest looking kid and I get the discount.

I got carded last week at the state store. It made me very happy since I'm 33.

It's been awhile, but now since one of the liquor store clerks got busted for selling to a minor, they make everyone show their ID and they swipe it before they ring up your purchase. I have been mistaken for my 23yo DS's sister though

It's when you thank them for carding you that you know you're old.

I don't recall the last time I got carded, I have kids with me so much that they just assume I'm either old enough or really need it if I'm not. I'm assuming though that the really obnoxious clerks may start not selling to me if DS is with me, because he's a teenager and they may think I'm buying for a minor.

I used to take DS with me all the time, of course this is small town and everbody knows everybody, so they never had a problem with it
