I would say auditory. I love school but hate taking on line college classes. I just don't think I get much out of that. What percentage is auditory? I am going to guess that is pretty high

~34% auditory and ~37% kinaesthetic/sensual-touch"I'm visual which is why I like pics even if others don't understand.

Hummm I thought auditory would have been higher than that because most of the learning in school is based on a teacher in the classroom lecturing. I can see how visual would be important on some things, ie, when you are trying to learn how to do something like a trade or a specific task. Very interesting deb.

This also important to find the learning styles of others-your kids/spouse/friends for example. So you can best communicate in the 'currency' that is best for them.
If they are used to communicating in pennies, communicating in nickels is cumbersome.

I'm a learn-by-doing kind of person. You can tell me from now until the cows come home, and I won't get it. You can hand me an instruction manual, and my eyes glaze over.
There hasn't been a "for Dummies" book so far that has been any sort of help to me whatsoever.
DSIL solves my computer problems. He also puts the DVD in and turns it on for me. And I can't figure out how to turn it back to TV, either.
I tried to learn to knit from a Dummies book. No soap. I tried to learn about eBay from a Dummies book. Ditto.
Except for cookbooks. I'm fine with those.

I am definitely visual and touch. Definitely not auditory for obvious reasons!

if you ask somebody a question that they have to think about: if their eyes look UP, they are visual. If they look side to side, they are auditory.

Visual, no doubt about it. I clearly have an auditory processing disorder.

if you ask somebody a question that they have to think about: if their eyes look UP, they are visual. If they look side to side, they are auditory. If you ask me, I will look down and my eyes will scan from left to right. Because I can't "hear" correctly, most language gets translated into subtitles that my brain displays at the bottom of my field of vision; I then read those subtitles, which is how I "hear" anything.

You are like me MAJOR visual.
But your visual is taken to a much higher notch than mine interms of mathematical design.
I wish we could explore it here...VISUAL COMBAT.

Kinetic You are like me MAJOR visual. But your visual is taken to a much higher notch than mine interms of mathematical design. I wish we could explore it here...VISUAL COMBAT. Yeah, I'm totally visual. But I'm great at math, spatial relationships, and directions. But I have a very, very difficult time following spoken language, especially in a lecture. Since there's this weird lag between the time the words are spoken and my eyes can read them--it takes time for my brain to convert the words to subtitles--I'm always a little behind in lectures, and it's easy for me to lose track of what's going on. I'm somewhat better about the written word, though, because I can always go back and re-read the material. Despite all my handicaps in this area, I still got a perfect 800 on the Verbal section of the GRE (three standard deviations above the norm, thank you very much ). I have a great vocabulary and a knack for learning other languages; I just can't process the sounds I hear very well. Sound contributes nothing positive to my life. It makes me super anxious--like, I have to take an Ativan just to handle going to the grocery store. When I was pregnant with my kid, my biggest fear was that I wouldn't be able to handle the noise and crying that comes with having a baby.

Kinetic What do you do for a living??? Well, right now I'm "in between opportunities." That is to say, I'm primarily a SAHM, though it's not what I want to do. I'm aiming to finish my PhD in physics. With any luck, Hubby will get a permanent job this year and I can resume my studies. Our daughter is finally old enough for preschool, though we can't afford it on one income (at least, not here in Los Angeles). With a permanent job, Hubby will earn more money, we can send our kid to preschool, and I can finish my graduate studies. Before all this, I was an accountant. Go figure.

I have gone thru this with the various psych classes I have taken. I don't know what I am. I am quite good with lectures but not good with someone giving me directions while talking. I prefer directions to be written but retain material better verbally than written.

I just asked myself a question and my eyes went to the side, I must be auditory.

Type of Learner Are You:Auditory,Visual,Touch?
I'm much more a vsiual & touch learner. Learning by listening is a total waste on me because I pick nothing up.

I think I'm a mix of everything because I HAVE to be, but do best with touch. I'm also pretty hard of hearing (although not to the point of hearing aids, but I work in a very noisy environment where it makes things very difficult) so sometimes that is out. I'm slightly dyslexic so while I love to read, it takes me forever. At work, when someone is trying to show me something I usually just want to take it from them and figure it out for myself since I'm usually more mechanical than they are and it drives me nuts to watch them bumble with it. Some things you just can't "touch" (like electrical theory) so you have to use the other two methods.

She's an extremely bright young woman like yourself. I'm mechanical, too. I just have an intuition for how things behave, move, etc. I guess that's why I love physics so much.
