busymom Our church routinely collects and distributes grocery store gift cards also. Local store gives a discount
Yes better to give people what they need/ want Also before church specified certain foods or gift cards, people were just donating almost expired cans or cans of food they disliked

Yikes! We've had severe rain and hail storms here, again tonight. The scary kind, that you shouldn't be driving in. And huge thunder.
They said, it is monsoon season, on the news. We don't get monsoons here.
I've got my windows open again, for the fresh air.

You stay safe, toomuchreality! That was the one thing I hated about living in FL. No place to hide during a tornado, except a closet located in the middle of the house. The water table was too high to be able to have a basement.

There was so much hail today, they had to shovel it off the highways! Some areas had 31 inches of hail! And there was 2 1/2 ft of water, from just this one storm, today! (A couple of hours) Main city roads turned into rivers (city sewage systems couldn't handle the flow) and trampolines were flying in the air!

Then it will be healthy and safe to be out. I keep remembering storm Ida out here, which was probably Sept 2021. It was life changing and goes into my personal storm pantheon which includes Floyd, and Sandy.

I am off my game due to lack of sleep. Having instant coffee now and probably later. Accidently poured the first spoonful into my concentrated cranberry juice glass instead of the coffee mug.

I hope your day is going better. I need to buy a new umbrella. I haven't seen any of mine since I moved.

Good Morning Kids! We must've gotten a ton of rain last night, as the pond behind our property is back. I was exhausted and slept right through it. Then I woke up with a charlie horse.

Easy to do. I almost put the ice cream into the fridge, instead of the freezer. Lack of sleep will do that to you.

Sorry to read that. I have to focus on eating enough potassium rich foods to prevent that. Also I try to do lower than average sodium because my mom needed to. I hope Charie the horse leaves you sooner than later.

It rained here overnight, too. I didn't hear it but I hear the sump pump running.

How are you healing up, TheOtherMe? I've been thinking about you when watching DH heal up from his surgery.

Already in the 80s here, think I need to schedule some of my PT in the afternoon because when I work the half days to start I probably won't be done with PT.
Knee looked a little better this morning visually. Need to put the cream etc. on it and my ankles. TheOtherMe how is healing going, better skin color?

Good Lord! I haven't even figured out how to deal with DS's last paperwork problem, and now I got a new package of paperwork to fill out. This is 6 pages of questions that I'm going to have to put some serious thought into. No rest for the weary.

How are you healing up, TheOtherMe ? I've been thinking about you when watching DH heal up from his surgery. Pretty good. I know it's not totally healed as I clean it with alcohol wipes every day and it still burns. It's not bright red like it was a month ago. It just takes time. Maddow made a leap last night across my face and caught his claw in it. That really hurt and did draw blood. Bandaged it overnight, but I don't see the spot this morning.

Got some of the stuff they need printed out but have more to do on that as well. Filling out forms can be very time consuming. I wish you luck.

Only 2 days to return to the US from vacation. Son's HS is requesting forms to be filled out for 8/20 start of school year. I think it should be no problem to make this deadline.

Scammers starting early today. Not sure if they patrol this board or something else. Probably should put on my weekend agenda to unbox cheapie TV and just place on the floor in front of dead TV. TV needs to be on for caller ID to work from this Internet provider.
Maybe I should request the ringtone default to something that denotes possible scammer or unable to be verified caller.

Does your TV have a ringtone default for scammers per the internet provider, that is a great feature to have, please share the details.

Good Morning Kids! Except, DH had a late start at work, so he's being annoying when I need to be working on other stuff, like paperwork. THEN, he goes to the local hardware store to pick up some stuff, and hands me the rebate form to send in when he gets back home (has he not been paying attention to all of the paperwork I've been swimming in this week?) Go to work, already!

Gracious good Friday my peeps! Everyone sounds ridiculously crazybusynuts! I had to make up a word to describe y'alls' week. We got some rain, and I will have to mow the lawn tomorrow morning, after practice. I will bake some cookie dough first, so as not to annoy the neighbors too early.
I did get to practice my shooting skills at my friend's house on Wednesday. Surprisingly, I am not that bad. I really love his property. Over five acres, lots of old trees, big fields, a pond and all fenced in. I thought I would still want the 9 mm, but I did well with the .380.
His house, on the other hand, is pretty messy, as he is doing massive renovations. He kept apologizing for how things looked. I reminded him that I was not coming over to judge his housekeeping skills. He's been a hard working, sole custody single parent for years. It's hard to be mom, dad and Suzy Homemaker, too. I offered to help with the renovations in any way possible. There is a room still packed with his XW's stuff. I suggested a few options for that crap: 1. Calling her and having her head down from NC to pick it up 2. She pays him to ship it to her.
3. Donate and/or sell all of it, including her horse trailer 4. Host a really, really big bonfire and weenie roast.

Peeps! Long day today, but got a lot done. Swam, Walmart stop, baked the cookies for DH, and then mowed the backyard in stages (thanks to two dead batteries). I am watching a rerun of the Tour de France Femmes after prepping shrimp for dinner and taking chocolate muffins out of the oven. I would like to mow the front lawn, but I just don't have the energy to get out in the heat again. The weather nerds are all crowing about how much "cooler" it is out thanks to Ernesto's influence. It's five freaking degrees difference.
