Hello peeps! We are getting a "cold" front next week. Woo freaking hoo. Temps to drop into the low 80s.

I have a race Sunday. Could be a slow one, given my knee's recovery. I have a very space-age brace to wear. I tried it out this morning. It is surprisingly light and comfortable.

My niece is coming to town for her high school's swim meet next month. As the coach, she gets her own hotel room, so she is coming in a day early. I won't see her in Orlando next week (she will be in New Mexico) so it will be good to get together. She's the family dirt collector. She knows all the gossip.

Good Morning Kids!  I hadn't worn my contacts all week, so fought to get them in this morning, as the left one didn't want to go in.  Now, with watery eyes, I'm trying to read the screen here.


Any idea what set him off, toomuchreality?  Maybe he was just having a bad day.


I know it's Fall now.  My bluebirds were gathering by the bluebird house, which means they're getting ready to fly South together.  I am definitely NOT ready for Winter, as we didn't have much of a Summer with all of the wildfires.

I have no idea, unless he was having a bad day, like you said and couldn't take listening to one more person gripe at him.
But it did surprise me. I could tell he was trying to control it, but it wasn't working.
I gave him a moment, then pretended not to notice and be a little kinder. (I was angry, but I wasn't screaming etc). I felt bad. (But not responsible.)

I have been busy all day. Swimming, then some stops to make, then lunch and baking cookies for DH and brownies for the Monday farewell to one of our swimmers. Laundry is done, though I will have one load tomorrow when I get back.

Dinner is fish and baked potatoes.

That Comcast guy is in the wrong line of work!
I worked in customer service and the credit department at the local gas company for 10+ years. During the last 5 years, I trained all the new employees. I never cried when helping a customer.😫 Once, in person, I honestly feared for my safety. 😳
Heck, I am not even a screamer. 🤬 More often, people say I talk too softly. And I'm not scary. I can't even give a scary evil eye! 🙄 But I have tried. 🤣

    I did customer service also, but you do tend to burn out over the years.  I'd take just about any job now, as long as I don't have to constantly deal with the public.

Burn out, YES. Cry? No. I never took what they said personally. I didn't make the rules. Although when they threatened to "go all electric", I wanted to give them the phone number, or dial for them. That was not a scary threat. LOL

   Nope.  Didn't cry.  But some days I went home absolutely exhausted.  And, I've been threatened too (that was fun).       People need to remember that the person who answers the phone doesn't make the policies.  They're just the person who gets to tell you what they can and cannot do.

Try being an IRS Agent where nobody wants to talk to you and you are in their house or business.  

I have been cussed out, threatened with death and left a couple who said they were going to commit suicide as soon as I closed the door because I ruined their life.

The taxpayer's CPA called me and then my manager about the death threat.  Whoever investigated at IRS found it "not credible".  It was a fraud case so I had told the Special Agent I was working with and he gave me his home phone number.  I was not happy that when the CPA said he was capable of doing it, it was found not credible.  He was guilty of tax fraud but was not prosecuted because his wife and died of cancer and he had just been diagnosed with cancer.  Three little boys lost both of their parents to cancer in a year's time.

I called my manager about the couple who was going to suicide when I got home.  At least now I could use a cell phone for help and not have to wait to get to a phone.  

So it did feel good when somebody called the manager about how professional I was.

Would you believe my car and DH's car both had low tire pressure warning lights today? I had to switch my gear to his car at 3:45 am. Got to the race just fine, then his light came on when I was on the way home. Tire gods not happy with me today.

I am making a meatball and mushroom sauce for pasta today, and saving the sauce for pizza tomorrow.

I had to run the dishwasher again, thanks to all the baking I did, so a final load of run-stinky clothing comes after that.

Thanks! And my tires do the same. It just seemed odd that both of us had the issue today -- it has never happened. And it was not that big a temperature difference. About 15 degrees or so. Much less humid.

Good Afternoon Kids!  Since the temps are dropping here, NancysSummerSip reminded me that we need to check our tire pressures on the cars.  That's the "gift" of living anywhere with four seasons, that you've got to watch your tire pressure closely.  


At least the dogs seem to be enjoying the cooler temps.  Both of our pups are double-coated, and a breed that we're not supposed to shave down, so I expect they feel a lot better in the Fall.


Dinner tonight is going to be pancakes & bacon.  Sometimes we do "breakfast" for "dinner".

I'm back.  Mom and I had a pretty good trip.  The weather was fantastic, we couldn't have had better weather for October.  There was a mouse that had taken up residence in the cabin but for the most part he didn't bother us.  I did make sure to let the people in the office know. 

When I was taking a little rest break at Mom's before heading on home I fell on the steps up to her front porch.  It was a hard fall and now I'm all bruised on my left side and can't raise my left arm above my shoulder without pain.  I'm supposed to have all 4 kids for Wed, Thurs, and Friday this week.  I need to be able to pick up the younger ones.

Feel better Sharon!  If you're still having trouble moving that arm tomorrow, please have a doctor check it out.  Sadly, after age 40 we just don't "bounce back" like we used to.

Good Afternoon Kids!  The sun is out, but we've definitely got the "Fall" feel to the air.  We're in the low to mid 50's right now.


I need to make a run to the meat market, and I'm hoping a lot of other folks don't have the same idea.

My arm is better but still not 100%.  I can now lift it above my head but there is still some pain.  I'm scheduled with the Chiropractor for next Tuesday afternoon.  This week is just too busy to try and get in and get an adjustment done.  Starting tomorrow I have all 4 grandkids and their two dogs until Friday afternoon.

Today is starting out with a bang.  The original plan was DD would get the bigs on the bus for school and then bring the littles over to my place.  School is on a two hour delay due to a power outage so I now have to get the bigs to school this morning.  I was also informed that DGS2 peed on his blanket so there will be laundry to start the day.

The kitty is locked in the bedroom so she has her quiet, safe place for the next several days.  Her food and the litter box were moved into my bathroom.  All waste baskets have been picked up so the dogs can't empty them of kleenix which they then shred.

School ended up being cancelled for the day so I had all four kids for the day.  While the littles were having their morning nap the bigs and I made blueberry muffins for breakfast tomorrow.  DGS1 and I also made a jello for dinner tonight.

I found some Halloween coloring pages on the internet and printed them out.  The kids all colored their pictures and we sent photos of them to Mommy.  I dug out random craft supplies, pipe cleaners, yarn, rick rack, construction paper and we had fun cutting and gluing.

We were all tired tonight.  DGD2 and DGS2 had a quick bath after dinner and then into jammies.  DGD2 had a bottle before bed and was out cold by 6:15.  DD had said bedtime was around 7:30, at 7:00 they were all asking to go to bed so I let them.  I have been enjoying some quiet time with some ice cream and TV.

I need to get the kids up shortly and begin our day.  Last night I was so mad at the Springer Spaniel pup.  We were all in bed and she would see some random night creature out in the yard and go into a major barking frenzy and get the other dog all riled up and then they were both barking.  How the kids slept through all that I have no idea.
